Well i wouldnt say manipulate. The client brings up a subject. The t doesnt want to say, oh yes, i know all about those! That would kill the thread, so to speak. Ts strive to be "thread stimulators to the clients advantage". Not gasp! manipulators. To what end?(sic - speaking of butt plugs )

I gotta agree with stopdog on this one. I don't think it applied to my Angel of a former T but I think all my other T's for sure. Including current T I'm sad to say.

There was a lot of shouting earlier at work. I wasn't involved in it but I could hear it from my office. It was really triggering. I dislike people displaying anger around me. It freaks me out. I'm feeling a bit better now though, some time has passed.

My former boss has been working from home but her computer hasn't been able to connect to the server (I know nothing about this stuff) so she can't do what she needs to do and she's terribly frustrated. This is part of the reason for the yelling.

I hope my Mom feels better tonight. She's had a sore throat for a couple of days. I can hear it in her voice. She went to urgent care yesterday but they said nothing was wrong. She is supposed to go to AZ for my cousin's bridal shower (I'm not going because it would involve taking two precious vacation days off of work and I'm not that close to this cousin, literally I could name maybe 4 things about her). I hope my Mom gets better so she can go on the trip. She's going with my Dad and one of my Aunts and they were going to "do" the Grand Canyon and stuff. If my Mom can't go, my Dad won't go, and my Aunt won't go, and then no one from CA will be at this shower. Probably would lead to some hurt feelings. But I don't want my Mom to go if her throat is hurting her. I want my Mom to feel better. I'm worried about her because she out of all of us gets sick the least but when she does get sick, she gets really sick.

Also a T with a lot of knowledge about butt plugs might accidentally reveal too much about themselves, you csn never see behind the curtain!

Well I'm thrilled that I got the plumbing problem fixed but today my A/C went out. It's literally cooler outside than inside at this point but I'm loathe to try to pry the windows open because of my asthma and allergies.

I'm sure Ts (especially the Freudians) are supposed to read about sex so they are not limited by their personal inexperience. Else how could a female T say anything sensible to a gay male client?

I've been feeling really out of it today. Sky high anxiety but weird and slowed down. Dizzy as heck and feel like I'm tripping over my words or can't find the words to begin with. I took my first dose of lexapro last night, and I'm really hoping it's not that because something needs to help.
I'm really wishing my T would add our Fridays back already. He said a few weeks ago that he was almost done with what he needed to use Friday for, but hasn't mentioned it again. I don't like going Wednesday evening and then Thursday morning and then waiting until Monday evening to see him again.

Sometimes, when I become emotionally overwhelmed and I feel a sob forming, but I'm around a person and I want to stifle it, my throat seizes up and makes this oddly animalistic noise. No matter how much I want to stop making that noise, it's like it's involuntary until I can take a breath again. So, yeah, that happened in session today. I feel really embarrassed that I made a weird noise. I wonder if I should apologize for making a weird throat noise or just pretend it didn't happen.

How are you sleeping?

If you apologise to T for a choked sob, they would probably say, "I only wish you could have wept out loud."

I called four attorneys, three called back within a day or two. I liked two of them so I met with them both before I went with the guy I hired. I figured I probably needed someone I felt comfortable working with. I’m glad I took a little extra time to do it that way because he’s been easy to work with and is sensitive to some of the tightropes I am navigating.
