Did a PaintNite thing that started an hour ago. I knew it was a bit too ambitious for me (girl with umbrella), but figured I'd give it a try. Ended up bailing on the planned painting partway through and switched to something totally abstract. Which was kinda fun. So, I guess that's all that matters!

ETA: May share my abstract result later if I'm feeling brave!
Thanks for this!

I don't think we get chiggers around these parts, though I could be wrong? And she hasn't been around any animals or anything so they're unlikely to be flea bites.

Ack.

Cool! Please do share, I'd love to see it. Thanks for the reminder too, I'd meant to look into one of those myself and forgot all about it.
Thanks for this!

Oooh cool! I wanna see, if you're up to sharing!

I've been meaning to ask you--do they supply the paint and the canvas and stuff? I'm trying to decide if I want to do one of those.
Thanks for this!

It depends on the place. There's one where you can choose an option where they send you materials to do three paintings. For this, Yaymaker, there's a link to where you can buy stuff, but I'd already bought supplies for myself, so I just used those. You really just need the primary colors plus black and white, and a big, medium, and small brush. And whatever size canvas you want--Michael's has some pretty cheap ones in multipacks.
Thanks for this!

We can't find any live bugs or eggs or anything but still. Since she's been maintaining good social distancing, it seems like she probably got them at the laundromat, which apparently is a thing??

This is going to be a real pain in the @**.

Sorry to hear that, chihirochild. My son and his gf had bedbugs in their previous apartment almost a year ago, they think they originated from their laundryroom but they're not sure. They moved to a place that has a stackable washer/drier in their apartment so they don't have to use a laundryroom/laundromat anymore, thankfully they haven't had a problem again. They did get rid of their mattress/box spring, and when they bought a new set, they also bought one of those bedbug proof mattress covers so in the odd happenstance they get them again, they won't have to throw out their mattress. The old apartment complex refused to do a heat treatment, which is supposed to be the best method for getting rid of them, so my son didn't want to take a chance. I hope you're able to mitigate them quickly if it is bedbugs.
Thanks for this!

It’s Scott 1000 paper (which I grew up on, so it’s my preferred brand). So right away that’s 24 real rolls, not 12 like it’s Charmin or AngelSoft or Fluffy or Be Kind to Your Butt. And it’s only me here. Average Americans use 20000 sheets/year, 1000 sheets per roll = 20 rolls/year. I’m above average!

Our apartment in Greece has a bidet. Not here.
Ah, I was not aware of this Scott 1000 option. It would be satisfying to have to change the roll so infrequently. I married into a hardcore Be Kind to Your Butt household, and now I can never, ever go back.

I just did the math. Our preferred brand only has 325 sheets per roll and comes in packages of 45. So considering two TP users live here, that means we would need to buy TP about four times a year if we are within the ballpark of 20,000 sheets per year per person. And that sounds about right to me.

ETA: There has to be a sex differential here too, since I imagine on average women probably use more TP than men on an annual basis...
Thanks for this!

Thanks! That's a good question. I felt I got some sort of release out of it, I'm just not entirely sure what I released, if that makes sense. Maybe sadness, as I was feeling rather sad when I went to paint it and feel a bit better now.
