Woke up at 5am for no reason. I have to be up at 7 anyway to give my roommate a driving lesson (she’s not very good yet so it’s better if we practice when there aren’t many cars on the road).

I texted T last night because things got bad. He called me.

Possible trigger:

Hugs, Chihiro. I'm glad your T called you back. But I also don't see how reminding you of that promise is helpful. I feel like for me, it would just make me feel guilty. And/or resentful of him.

Also glad that J was nice about the breakup.

This is so silly, but I have T in 20 minutes. My hair is wet, don't feel like drying it, debating whether to just leave it down wet and stringy looking or to pull it back...

Went with the damp hair. I think he was meeting with me from his bedroom this time, based on the closets behind him. He apologized for the change in location (if he's at his house, he's generally in a little office), saying they'd been having issues with the Wifi signal, so he had to find room with strongest signal. I felt a little odd at first meeting him in that room, but it ended up being a really productive session with lots of insight. And I thought he wiped away tears again, and he essentially confirmed it by saying a few minutes later that he felt really sad when I was telling him something about my parents, which led to one of his insights. Might post more later (like in In Session Today or something).

Such a fun work day, haha! I haven't been able to log onto anything yet. Sat on hold for IT for literally more than 3 hours (on speaker). They finally answered. Major server outage affecting pretty much everyone trying to work both in office and at home. I was told to keep restarting every 15 minutes to try to connect to one of the working servers. No dice yet! I am getting paid basically to restart my computer 4 times an hour. I texted my boss to see if i could just take a PTO day but she never answered that question. Just told me to keep restarting. I guess I'll just continue to get paid to restart my machine.

I'm glad that L uses her office for our zoom sessions. She sits facing the window, so I can see the couch where I usually sit behind her. Different viewpoint, but it's still the same space.

It's been a while. regular T and I now have a mix of in office and zoom but EMDR T is always in person. The case rate in my city is extremely low and we all wear masls and distance.

I kinda miss March when people thought this would be over by summer. So hopeful. Now just hoping by 2022 lol

Anyone have any movie or TV recommendations for days when things are terrible?

I really liked This is Us (as suggested by LostOnTheTrail) but I finished it.

Main T has met with me from at least three different geographic locations (her house, her husband's house, and her office) and several different rooms. DBT T has only met with me from her house (as far as I can tell). She used to work from her daughter's room (maybe more privacy there?), but lately now that her kids are off in their "pod" on the days she works, she has been in a different room.

I think I'm going to see main T in person in a couple of weeks with masks and a whole list of social distancing rules. I thought it would be a one-off, but it sounds like she might be willing to do it semi-regularly if I want to. I'll have to see how it feels...

Also, second COVID test was negative! Hooray!

I like This is US a lot.

If you have Netflix, I really enjoyed Schitt's Creek (doesn't get good until Season 2 but it's worth it) and Dead to Me

Dr. T typically goes to his office (as in, the regular office where I used to meet with him), but occasionally he does sessions from home. I'm guessing on days when he only has a couple sessions? He says it's easier to focus in the office. And it's a different perspective for me, too, but somewhat comforting to see the usual space.

Are you looking for depressing stuff or stuff to cheer you up? Depressing--if you've never seen Six Feet Under (and have access to it), I highly recommend that. Other dark stuff: Criminal Minds (first 5 or so seasons are the best--I only recently started watching it)--available on Netflix. There's something else I watched recently, but it's probably *too* dark.

Ah, good to know about Schitt's Creek. H and I watched the first episode while on vacation last week and turned it off after 15 minutes. Maybe we'll try starting with the second season!

Ooooh my local BFF and I watched Dead to Me via Netflix Party last spring and loved it!!! I'll have to try Schitt's Creek again--I watched the first 20 minutes and wasn't into it but I'll give it another shot.

I usually watch Gilbert and Sullivan when I am very depressed. I also like Party Down (jane lynch, megan mullally, and adam scott among others) and Head Case (with Alexandra Wentworth) if you can find them.
Or if you don't mind youtube
Cunk - moments of wonder

and
Cunk on Britain

and all the other Cunk videos with Diane Morgan.
Very funny if you like mockumentary style from the british

Two houses?

No. 1 once complained to me about the poor level of therapist income when she’d just sold her house for a million dollars.

The second woman who married her second husband when she was in her 70's and he was nearly 90 - had a house and her husband had a house. I don't know if she rented or owned. Her house got flooded regularly as it was on a river (flat learning curve to live in an area that floods regularly). They didn't actually live together until the last couple of years of his life when she moved into his house because he was declining in health.

I imagine it says something about me that I'm like, "Hm...cheer up fodder...hm..." OK, this is incredibly random, but there's this horror movie spoof from years ago called "Student Bodies" that's pretty ridiculous but also weirdly engrossing. Also, that makes me think of the movie "Clue," but I imagine you've seen that.
