Ugh - this is not my week. I started running a temp last night then got nasal congestion and a cough. So I cannot work until my COVID test comes back negative. I waited 90 minutes for a COVID test this morning and then they told me it might be 5-7 days before I get my results. Meanwhile, my mother-in-law tested positive (but I haven't been around her).

I hope you feel better soon and I hope it isn't COVID, maybe just a cold. Get plenty of liquids in you and some hot soup. Try to rest and take care of yourself.

I feel sad today. I really wanted to call out of work and just stay home but my parents probably would have had a fit so I came to work. I got my work caught up from yesterday so I feel really good about that being that I've been at work for 3 hours so far. I really just want to be home and napping. Napping to keep the world out/escape. I mean, yeah I'm tired, but it's more of a coping mechanism to deal with emotions that I don't want to deal with.

Well done for getting work done. I think it's perfectly okay to use sleep as a coping mechanism.

Hugs, Polibeth, hope it isn't COVID. That sucks that results will take that long...Meanwhile, the NFL has very quick turnaround times (I say this as a football fan...and of a team who really screwed up with COVID protocols recently).

Text seems appropriate with that level of dates. In the dark ages (before texting was as much of a thing), I'd have used email for that sort of thing. It's good you were firm with him, even if it was awful. I made the error once of saying I had doubts about ending things with a guy that I'd seen for a few months. Months later, he approached me about getting back together, mentioning that I'd said I'd had doubts. I hadn't actually had doubts, I just felt bad...So it's like I had to let him down all over again.

I got my second choice, which means moving across the country.

I’m so so disappointed. I shouldn’t be because it’s still a great program but I had decided I wanted the first-choice one and now I’m just devastated.

Also means I’ll have to find a new T. Which obviously I have complicated feelings about but just... ugh.

On the plus side, your roommate won't be bugging you all the time.

When do you have to move?

Hugs, I'm sorry...were any of the other options still in your area? Like maybe they were no. 3 or 4, but could that still be an option?

Unfortunately, that’s born how the match process works—I submit a ranked list and all of the program should submit a ranked list, and then a big computer in the sky optimizes it. You have to go where you match, or else the programs won’t have enough fellows.

We upped the dosage on my AD 2 weeks ago and I swear I feel more depressed than I did on the lower dosage.

Oh, I see. I thought maybe it was more like getting admitted to college, where you got your acceptances, then picked which one you went to. I may have been misled by Grey's Anatomy...

I assume in real life you probably couldn't get your job back after cutting an LVAD wire...or messing with a clinical trial...or all the various other things they've done.

Oh HECK no. You'd absolutely lose your job, your license, and quite possibly your civil liberties.

I emailed former T in a way to try to get her opinion on whether I should continue therapy and whether I should try Spiritual Direction. I doubt she'll take the bait. But there's always hope!

I just ordered a snowflake one the other day! Love the idea of the sloth and flamingo ones. I have a floral, a tie-dye, a camo, and a leopard print.

I’m kind of curious what will happen to masks if the vaccines are effective and most people don’t have to worry too much about covid. Will they become seasonal with flu, allergies, and what covid threat remains?
