Hey hey,

So I was in a similar situation about 1.5 years ago, just with my younger brother whose therapy I paid for 6 years in total. T had to remind me my younger brother became a legal adult and he can go find work to pay for his therapy.

Is your sister a minor?

I haven't gotten one yet, but I have one in mind, I want a little dragonfly. Not sure where yet (all I know is I want to be able to see it easily). Plus I'm still too chicken to go through with it... maybe for my 60th bday in 2022.

Make sure to find a good shop and ask the owner/manager to suggest which artist would be best suited for your tattoo. Then look at their portfolio to make sure you like their work. And ask if they use lidocaine. If they don't, get some lidocaine and put it on a few hour beforehand to help reduce the pain, but wash it off before going.

About 20 years ago several of my friends hit a mid-life group get a tattoo point. Listening to them pick their symbol and discuss what it meant to them was interesting to observe. I was completely fascinated/baffled to see them super thinking about how to best summarize themselves/values/lofty goals in one tattoo. Sort of like me around others talking about therapy.
As I recall, dolphins/horses/wolves, rainbows, and various celtic/chinese/druid symbols were the top contenders. And one of them, for reasons I was just not able to follow, chose from amongst several disney cartoon characters.

Having an overwhelming urge to go back to bed. But not in an "I need more sleep" way but an "I want to hide from the world" way.

So I should probably go walking instead.

Had to go pick up the equipment for my at-home sleep test. It's been a week (or two?) since I've driven my car and had panic attack on the way there. Had to sit in my car for a few minutes to calm down before going inside (hard to do the deep breathing thing wearing a mask, so wanted to calm before I put it one). Thankfully, the appointment was very brief, she just had to show me how to use the thing, plus weigh me and measure my neck circumference. Then on the way home, I passed by the street that Dr. T is on (well, I passed by it on the way there, too--I'd have had to take a really circuitous route to avoid it) and started crying a little. Though better than the sobbing I did last time I was in that area (but then I was actually on that street). I'm in great shape today!

It felt so darn good to get my hair cut last night. Thanks @@ for inspiring me. She cut more off than I was anticipating but it looks good. It's just weird now when I brush my hair and the rest of the hair isn't there. I think she took off about 9 inches or so. Although it's more chin length than shoulder length even though I clearly showed her a picture of what I wanted and the lady's hair in the picture was touching her shoulders. Oh well. She cut my bangs into "curtain bangs" which I'm still not sure what those are because they look like how I had cut my own bangs. She was so cute though. She was like, what have you done to your bangs? Lol! It took like an hour for the cut, blow dry, and style but it feels so good! I keep touching my head and hair. It still smells like the Salon since she washed it last night I didn't wash it this morning. I told my coworker my hair will never look this good again because I cannot style it like they do. Mine will come out looking like a mess.

We had to duck and cover in our bathtub last night. I had already gone to bed when the phone rang - a tornado warning alert from the city. My son and I turned on the tv and the weather forecaster was literally calling out the street names in our neighborhood telling residents to take shelter immediately.

I'm not usually one to get too concerned about crazy spring weather in North Texas, but then again, I have never heard the weather forecaster get that specific about our neighborhood (come to find out, he lives in our area, so he was personally concerned about his wife and kids). So, my son and I and our dog all get in our bathtub (can I just say we have a small bathtub. LOL).

It got LOUD. It was one of the strangest sounds I have ever heard. I have never experienced that sound before. It wasn't just hard rain and the usual hard wind sounds; it wasn't hail. It was something else that I can't quite describe. I can only assume there was rotation right above us. Fortunately, nothing touched down and all was well, but I can do without ever hearing and experiencing that again.

I went walking this morning - more out of dog happiness responsibility than anything to do with me. We are in for another bout of storms for the next 24 hours and they get bonkers if they don't get in a least 2-3 miles walk once a day -usually it is 4-6 but in rainy weather we do what we can. And my dogs are wimpy about rain. They sit on the porch and watch me walk out into it and they turn and cry to go back in.
I am NOT a morning walking sort of person. Morning Walkers are the ATATs of the world - focused, organized, etc. I am a night owl walker. We totally go back to bed for any reason at all as long as it is before noon.

I'm glad it feels and looks so good! It's fun playing with it and feeling the even ends and stuff, isn't it? Mine was so scraggly-awful before I got it cut I keep playing with mine too.

I can never style mine either the way they do in the salon, I have long known I am missing the hair style gene. haha. My sisters sure got it, both of them are great at styling their hair. I'm just lucky that mine is so thick and has some body to it. I have always wanted curly hair. But I guess that's how it goes, those that have it wish they didn't and those that don't wish they did haha.

We're all good, but it was a crazy 30 minutes. My daughter and her girlfriend live about two blocks from us, so they were experiencing the same thing. My son and his wife are a few miles north and were also texting with us. We're used to nasty storms this time of year, but this one was scary in a way they usually aren't. I've been through many hurricanes, and much prefer them to tornados. At least with a hurricane you get some warning. The unpredictability of tornados is what is so frightening. This was way too close. At least whatever it was didn't touch down. We sat there truly listening to hear if the walls were going to crash down around us; I've never actually thought that kind of destruction to our house was imminent, but I did for a time last night. Not fun.

Got an email this morning from the peeps hosting this weekends dream tending workshop, with the Zoom link and some information they want us to read beforehand. My huge anxiety of late had made me forget how much I'd been looking forward to this workshop, so I'm feeling a little better now reading about it and starting to look forward to it again in a big way. It's 7 hours on Saturday (with a one hour lunch break) and then 4 hours on Sunday. From what I'm reading it sounds like we're going to be working in groups of 2 at some point. It will be interesting meeting and working with another dreamer over Zoom. Last time (the shorter one) we did groups of 4. This method of working with dreams is a little different from how L and I work with them so it is interesting. She told me that I'll probably know more than a lot of the other participants but I said I'm not so sure about that. Last time I was more than a little intimidated by one of the gals in our little group of 4, she was one of those 'bigger than life' kinda people and I felt like I was so nothing in comparison listening to her talk. I hope I don't feel that way with whoever I'm partnered with this time. I do totally dig this stuff, though, even so!!

Doggy raincoats?

I am not feeling much like an ATAT of the world today.

Long walk achieved, almost ready for tomorrow's lecture, after that there are definitely things to do but I might go hide in bed for a few hours.

I like night owl walking too. My neighborhood is pretty safe, so on hot sunny days that's when I go walking, after sunset.

ETA: I remember a terrific midnight hailstorm when I lived in Austin. The hail didn't wake me up, the terrified motorist who came banging on my front door for shelter did. (I let her in, probably not the greatest idea but she was a teenager and very scared.) That was golf-ball and quarter-sized.

I never heard a tornado siren until a visit to St. Paul. Had no idea what to do.

They don't like to get their feet wet. And two large herding dogs in rain coats and booties is a bridge too far.
Every so often, going back to bed is not a bad plan.
Texas is the top tornado state. I have lived in tornado prone southern states. Hearing a tornado is something freaky deaky and somewhat unsettling. The park by my house has had a tornado touch down a couple of times. A friend of mine whose family has a farm in Iowa has sent me video clips of his family on the front porch watching tornados form until the wind gets too bad.

It was raining here in Southern AZ yesterday, today it's all gloomy/cloudy and super windy. We don't get tornadoes here too often, but they do happen. I'm glad I'm done with work for the week, just put a frozen pizza in the oven, and then maybe go watch something on netflix. H is working on his fantasy baseball stuff cuz their draft is coming up soon. My house is very, very quiet right now. I am feeling marginally less fragile than I was yesterday.

I think tomorrow morning I'm going to get up kinda early and make those brioche buns again, this time with the right kind of flour so they will puff up like they are supposed to. I still ate the failed ones, they were just heavy and flat instead of light and airy. They still tasted really good.
