Well I gotta get to bed y'all. I'm on live chat this week and that means I have to work 5a-2p. Boo!

I'm like that too, particularly in my old IT job. I rather get mad and vent it than get my hopes up for "Nah I might not have to go" and then get really disappointed and barely hide my fury.

Didn't help that I was overtime pay exempt (despite my salary being half the required) with a 1 1/2 hour commute, and I wasn't particularly needed - I was just there to oversee my capable technical team and answer questions from important people (lawyers, judges) who don't like talking to technical people.

Gotta speak fluent English and be able to change my accents, and be able to answer stupid questions in a calming and easy to understand way that doesn't show a single hint of irritation lol.

Welp, getting mad last night didn’t help; I’m still furious.

This is so irrational; I knew I was on backup and could get called in. I’m going to get paid for covering the shift. There’s no reason to be so mad. But I am literally enraged about this and dreading every second of this day.

It’s a bunch of little things, like the fact that I don’t have a parking pass for this hospital anymore (I didn’t have any scheduled shifts and was hoping not to get called in), I was really happy that I’d never have to go to another 90 minute multidisciplinary meeting again (my only scheduled shifts left are night shifts, and you don’t have to deal with that crap at night), I can’t remember what any of the numbers are to the pharmacy or whatever or what time I stop admitting patients on this shift etc. Like, I’d flushed that all from my brain (because my last day of this job is June 1st and I was hoping I wouldn’t have to go back to the hospital that is far from my apt) and now I have to retrieve it all.

I’m glad that I don’t have to deal with the person who called in sick because honestly I don’t know that I could be civil to her. Which so crazy because like what if she is actually ill with I dunno a food borne illness or something and legitimately can’t work? (Though I ungraciously suspect that she isn’t because I know her and she also hates working at this hospital and I wouldn’t put it past her to just call in sick to avoid it.)

This is so weird; I’m not usually like this.

Tomorrow I have an appointment with Dr. K and an appointment with the care coordinator. I'm sort of looking forward to them and sort of dreading them. It's a weird combination actually. I hope I can explain myself properly and I hope the appointments go well.

I don't pay too much attention to the commercials. I am usually looking at my phone during commercials.

Chihiro, I agree with everyone else that you're going through a lot right now with the upcoming move, etc. So try to be easy on yourself. It makes sense that you're frustrated and angry about this. I hope you have a relatively easy day at work and won't have to work any more this week.

Actually as a commercial i find it below par, but... kitties and Westerns! Its like they had to TRY to make it bad! And they succeeded, unfortunately!

Today in, random things I've learned in therapy: I brought up something where ex-MC had been preachy about a certain thing, and I said "with ex-MC on his pulpit." Then I said I guessed that wasn't fitting and asked him what a rabbi stood on (ex-MC is Jewish, and Dr. T has said he's "of Jewish heritage"). Dr. T hesitated a second, then said "a dimah" (I had to look up spelling after).


Also, I hate when I'm close to some sort of big insight, like working my way there, then it's the end of session...

What's the product or service they are trying to sell?

If the cat remarks how fresh something smells, I'm guessing cat litter.

ETA: I still shudder at the thought of the Charmin bears commercial where they had TP stuck to their bottoms.

My favorite commercial right now is that geico one with those rappers in it. cracks me up every time when the daughter spins around and walks back out of the room

I was just thinking this morning about the show My So-Called Life. I have it on dvd's somewhere. Maybe they'll turn up whilst I'm packing and I can binge watch it. I loved that show.

I really question who greenlit that commercial. I mean, we buy Charmin because they sell it at Costco for good prices, but it's in spite of, not due to, that commercial.


Was it also Charmin who tried the "Enjoy the go" slogan? Because that was also a fail, to me.

Yes, great show! Some channel aired reruns at some point. It's only one season, so you can binge the whole thing! I imagine it's on some streaming service, too.

Esther is at the vet's today. They are keeping her until closing 5:30-5:45 PM. They are doing a bunch of tests on her and diagnostics. The bill right now is at $500. They are trying to stabilize her sugar and get her some liquids. They also need to test to see if she has a UTI and then they are going to do some x-rays and I'm not sure what all. Then they said that her prognosis is "guarded" and just be prepared that I might have to euthanize her. I was like, well she is 16 or 17 years old. I'm not exactly sure because she was a shelter cat. And she's had diabetes diagnosed for 2.5 years and she's had diabetes longer than that, just not diagnosed. And so she's lived a full and happy life. That said, I hope I don't have to let go of my baby today but I don't want her to be in pain and suffering either. So I am kind of emotional right now. Just thinking about what if. I hope I don't have to say goodbye tonight but I hope if I do that I will be strong for her and will let her go gracefully into the happy beyond.

Thanks Artie. The waiting is what is really hard. I won't know if I need to put her down until like 5:30 PM tonight. So it's hard to wait and not fret. I know that if the doctor thinks it's best then I will do what needs to be done. But if it's sort of a wait and see proposition then I'm less sure I will make the right choice for her. I'm just praying that we will have a clear answer by tonight. Of course I hope she gets to come home with me, but if not, I hope she doesn't suffer and that it will be quick. I hope she just closes her eyes and wakes up in Heaven. Of course, cats have nine lives. So maybe she hasn't used them all up yet and I'll get to take her home.
