True! I guess I feel a bunch of shame over events more than a decade ago. Then when I worked, music was a way to get through the day when I was really stressed and very depressed. Basically more shame about not being able to work etc this time round.

So far for the RPG videogame, I'm playing till the next "save point" which usually happens after some exploring, a few fights, then more exploring. Around an hour of play time every session.

I did read about how exposure therapy works and it seems important to do the exposure until I'm naturally relaxed again.

For music, yeah, that's another one I'll do one song at a time and build up.

Then fiction books/ebooks! I've a bunch of ebooks I want to get but they're all clinician books about DID, so not doing that. I was reminded of the Earthsea series lately, I'll check it out, I've the ebooks.

Not sure if you all remember me.. was part of close to the original couch threads and then spent time lurking for a couple of years.

For those of you who remember me from “back in the day” you may remember that I was a closeted lesbian, struggling to make the decision to leave my husband, and finish college. Well I am proud to report that after graduating in January 2020, I finally got a job in July 2020 told my husband I was leaving in October and moved out in November. I slowly came out to family and friends in the months after that. I am now fully out to everybody- am dating a woman for the first time. And really thoroughly enjoying my life.

I read through some old couches and tried to catch up. I hope everyone is doing well. Maybe I will stick around for a bit.

I'm proud of you for doing what feels right for you. It takes a lot of courage to be true to yourself.

I tried to read an ebook and... I did not expect one of the illustrations inside (a beautifully done dragon) to trigger memories of my religious abuse history.

(I've nothing against religion, just the culty denomination my parents raised me in.)

I'm in the process of making my own major life changes - leaving mentally abusive ex-husband and moving south to live near my Dad. It's a lot.

I see Pdoc today via telehealth. I sent him a fax of what has been going on (hallucinations, though part can be explained over the grief of losing my cat Esther), some suicidal thoughts the past month, possible delusion (I'm still undecided if it is a delusion or not. I mean the thing that I think could be a delusion I think could also happen so it's iffy. I think it is unlikely though with help of Dr. K so I am thinking it was probably a delusion) and thought stopping which might not make sense to him but at least I will "get it out there." I've faxed him a couple of times before when I have "weird" things to discuss because I do it so much better on paper and I want him to understand. Besides I tend to be like, "Everything's fine" when I talk to him on telehealth, or in person, when in reality it might not be. I've been a little impulsive lately but I forgot to mention that. Not in too many areas just here and there. I'm mostly a planner so it's weird when I am impulsive. But I don't think I need to worry about it. I know it's weird to fax him but I don't have the capability to text him or email him and I don't really care if his receptionist reads the fax. Or his wife/partner who works there as a therapist. I don't know them and they don't know me so I don't really care if they read what I write. It probably doesn't make sense anyhow. The alternative is to write it down and read it to him in session but that's a little weird too. Oh well. Anyhow it's done. I did it yesterday. Now I am having buyers remorse by telling him so much. Even though I know he is there to help me.

Ugh, moving sucks. I’ve been selling my furniture on Facebook; all of the major items have sold but I have a tall bookshelf and a tall wardrobe that nobody seems to want. I put them up for free this morning and am getting more interest, but people keep messaging me saying they’re interested and then being like, “oh actually it won’t fit in my car nevermind” even though the dimensions are on the listing. I can put the things on the curb foe the city to pick up for like $25 a piece but would rather not do that. Cant donate them bc I have no way to drop them off and all of the pickup places are either booked out for 2 months or charge like $75 a piece to pick up (and I am not paying that much to donate something ffs).

It’s even stupider bc I’m getting off the night shift and am exhausted, and also because I don’t even want to be making this move in the first place bc it means I have to be away from my BF for a year.

I hate everything about this.

Healed - so happy to hear such good news from you. You got yourself into the environment that suits you, which i was never really successful at doing (or reasonably defining), so super congrats.

1. We had an emergency phone call yesterday. First 20mins are free, everything after is pro-rated. We had just come to the understanding that we don't discuss fees in an emergency, but she does alert me to the time. Yesterday, she didn't alert me to the time, and still charged me the 9 minutes extra. She didn't give me the option if I wanted to go over or not.

2. I emailed her last night her for a little extra support today via email. I told her she helped me get through last night, but I wanted some help today too. She emails me back yes, she'd love to offer me support sometime before 7pm. I go to sleep between 7 and 8pm! And when she says a time, it's usually right before that time. So basically, she won't be able to support me today.

I know I owe her for the 9mins, and I understand she's busy today. That's not the point. The point is that she didn't alert me to the time (which has always been her responsibility), and if she didn't have time today she should have just said so.

I'm already struggling with family issues. And we just had a bad session on Tuesday. I'm supposed to have an extra session with her tomorrow and my normal session with her on Friday. I'm just so frustrated with her!!! I want to cancel on her and tell her just to go away.

End rant.

chihiro, do you live in a place where you can just put unwanted stuff on the street with a "FREE!" sign attached to it? I have a 100% success rate with that, even for some pretty worn out stuff.
