Hugs, if wanted. Hopefully your new request for accommodations will go through without issue. Are you seeing Visa again soon?

I want a do-over.

I want to be a child again.

I'm dissatisfied in this life.

The last thing I would ever want is to be a child again. I like being an adult. I even like being an older adult even with the current and impending body part failures that loom. And I would rather deal with girding up weak skeletal parts and muscle aches than going through childhood again.

Students actually have it better overall (they get most of the attention on campus and there's another law besides the ADA that applies to them I think). I went to college 25 years ago (so not long after the ADA was passed) and they were still finding their feet over accommodations--and the ADA people at my school are pretty much where my college was 25 years ago.

Help? You guys are doing great already.

ETA: oh, I guess if I start talking about doing something idiotic, like quitting in a fit of rage, tell me it’s a stupid idea.

Ain't that the truth! I'm not sure I even would want to go through my early adult years. Life has gotten more sane and steady the older I have gotten, even with the craziness of the last year.

Don't quit in a fiery huff (although I did it once and it worked out well - I still don't recommend it).
Two therapists in one day? That makes me slightly stressed to read it and it isn't even me that is going to have to endure it.

Update: Turns out that vaccine appointment for tomorrow wasn't for the pediatric dose, but I have one for Monday and am going to keep trying for sooner. My county will offer some on Friday, but won't release those appointments until tomorrow night.

I have done it before--No. 2 and No. 1 in the same day, about an hour apart. No. 1 joked I was "double-dipping" and tried to tickle me.

My IOP individual therapist is going to have surgery so I have two sessions left with her and then will be transferred to the same therapist who covered for her when she was on vacation. I feel worried about my therapist. It's like I can't stop worrying. I don't know what kind of surgery she is having but it must have been planned because I remember her talking about being on medical leave in November but I didn't pay attention because I thought I would be done with IOP by now but my insurance keeps approving days.

I saw both ex-MC and ex-T on the same day once--I think maybe it was the Monday of a holiday week, so the only day both were available. It felt like all my brainpower got used up, like I couldn't really do anything involving thinking the rest of the day. I avoided scheduling both the same day after that.

I guess I did see Dr. T for a 30-minute session the morning of the ex-MC session after the rupture. But that's a little different, because both sessions were the same topic (and I recall Dr. T just not shutting up that whole 30 minutes, so I didn't get a chance to say much--if that happened now, I'd say something!)

I asked today if Dr. T had any better sense of when he might return to in-person (numbers going down around us). He said he wasn't sure but that he was talking about it with his wife the other night and she was vehemently against it being anytime soon, which he said surprised him. Then I was saying some stuff about kids getting vaccinated should help bring the numbers down, and he said something like, "Thanks, that's some good fodder to use in pleading my case with my wife." So...helping him conspire to get back to in-person therapy. (I also suggested he get a booster--he said he didn't know why he hadn't gotten one yet.)

I hear you, LT.
I understand that it must be tough trying to organise it, but being on the receiving end of it is even harder. Going through something similar at the moment with R.

The hesitancy right now is the million dollar question: What will happen following the holidays again this year?

People are hesitant to go back to normal only to have to pull back again I think.

Yes, I think that's why he's uncertain. He said before he wouldn't expect to be back before Thanksgiving, and I said today how I imagined he'd be reluctant to return in December just for a few weeks before the holidays, and he seemed to agree. I'm hoping he'll go back to in-person by mid-January, which is also me hoping that there isn't a holiday spike (for reasons other than just therapy, of course).

Sorry you're also dealing with that, Lost. I think the uncertainty and lack of control over what's going to happen in the population as a whole are what make it so challenging.

I also don't want to push too hard. Plus, if he did opt to come back in, say, December, then had to go back to virtual a few weeks later again, would that be more difficult than if we'd just stayed virtual? I am glad I got to see him for a few weeks in the summer, but it was a bit painful resuming virtual. Though some of that was also the realization that this wasn't the whole "freedom summer," or whatever Biden called it (I think your leader used something similar).

And now I will have nightmares. I didn't like the woman being within 6 feet of me - being touched, let alone tickled, was completely out of the question.

I'm massively depressed. Like super severely dragging depressed.
On the other hand, I got my new handbag in the mail today from Kate Spade. Looking forward to seeing that when I come home. It's the first time I ever got a "name brand" handbag. I feel very adult. I got it because I've been doing good in IOP and doing my best in IOP. So kind of like a treat for myself. I also ordered a tote from Kate Spade for my bestie for Christmas. She's going to love it. We have the same favorite designer. I was so sad when she died.
