You should stock up while you can. Your inflation + supply chain issues are worse then ours at the moment. Cookies for breakfast and dinner.

I woke up happy this morning.
You've been wanting to go for a while- use this dream as a sign to go for it and start a Hawaii fund!

That should be a new square on the therapy bingo card: had a telehealth session while therapist had COVID. Mine has recovered fully except her heart rate goes way up when she exercises now. Kinda freaky.

Wow, that is freaky. I hope it gets back to normal soon. Dr. T has said he's concerned about possible long-term heart or lung capacity effects if he gets Covid because of his being an athlete.

Could another bingo square be "had appointment pushed back because therapist was stuck in line for a Covid test"? I got that one in the fall.

Just picked her name of a list that my insurance company gave me because I liked the name Julieanne. I figured that was as good as any way to pick a T. So far she is working out. I think this will be the 5th time I have seen her. She took off most of December but did see me once when I was having a hard time in December and she is pretty good at texting and keeping up that way. I appreciate her so far. She has ADHD so she jumps around a lot in session but she usually has a reason for doing so, which sometimes she tells me. Like once she was doing an assessment on how well I function independently and she told me after. The questions seemed unrelated but once she told me what she did then it made sense. She's nice. I like her and I think she's a good T so far. I'm really working hard to be open and transparent with her and also to trust her. Plus she held a spot for me the whole time I was in IOP which was like more than two months! I think you were gone the whole time I was in IOP. That's a long story. I'm in Aftercare right now which is one night a week of group therapy. So between that and Julieanne I am pretty covered.

Thank you Artie. HUGS for you too.

She has underlying health conditions so I worry about her but she said today that she is feeling better. Still you never know with like long term covid effects and stuff. It's just worrisome.

Only if we can add "appointment canceled due to Covid vaccine side effects" because that happened to me too. This virus is kind of the worst.

I hear you. When L told me she was tired in early december and taking the last 2 weeks of the year off, my first thought was that she was having long term effects from having covid early on in the pandemic. I remember how worried I was about her when she was sick. It's very worrisome.

I don't think I feel abandoned. More like relieved. But I don't think I'm all that attached to her, not much more than mildly.

I also just reread her letter more closely. She's going to close her practice and won't see clients, but she's going to transition over to coaching and supervising other therapists.

Yeah...I would not want to see a therapist who had been coached by Info. She's the walking illustration of someone who knows a little about everything (EMDR, EFT, sensorimotor, psychodrama) but not enough to be any good at any of it.

Yes, I'd definitely add that one. Did your T cancel or did you? I probably should have canceled one of mine the day after a vaccine because I was really out of it.

That's funny . My T and I eventually developed this "stock phrase" where she'll refer to my or someone else's BS and go "put it in the BS bag".

We both used to be government employees, and I used to complain about my job a lot. So I've a particular gag gift as a transitional object.

I would be irked, too. Yet at the same time, I also wouldn't appreciate having to pay to get dumped.

I had a therapist I saw longer than you saw L and she did not inform me. And I hadn't actually formally terminated.

Although, tbh, I don't know for a fact that she's retired now. But she no longer has any listings online and it would make sense given her age and that her husband is already retired. Psychiatrist also said she was "winding down" last time she spoke to her, which was a while ago.

I guess I'm just saying don't hold your breath that you'll be told.
