Poor piggies!

(Thank you for the laugh, LT...)

Quordle is my favourite, although I have a set strategy. I also use the same starting word(s) with Wordle.

Hm, now I'm curious about your Quordle strategy! One thing I've figured out is not to get hung up on trying to get one word, to sort of move between them and try to use a variety of letters.

I use different starting words with Wordle, though they tend to include a few letters in common.

I had dinner with chiding German chair last night, and discovered on the way home that coffee is not necessarily gluten free—I had a cup after dinner. Had to pull over until it came back up enough to finish driving home.

Plus side, none of the food came back up, so recovery is going more quickly than usual.

I'm not sure what percentage of the English vocabulary is "loan words" (especially from French/Latin) but I suspect it's pretty large. Some more recent than others, true.

dordle is more reasonable sounding than quordle.

It's hard to believe this sentence actually conveys information.

Haha, yes, this is one of those sentences that would have been completely nonsensical a year ago.

Quordle takes some practice to figure out a strategy--you have to think a bit differently than with Wordle.

There's also one with a single 6-letter word (I forget the name), but after doing Wordle so long, I can't seem to think in 6 letters! Everything I think of is 5 or 7.

In-person session with Dr. T went pretty well today--I felt more relaxed by partway through.

Something funny--I mentioned at one point, "Well, I guess I only have 12 minutes left, so maybe I shouldn't get into that." He said, "No, you have 17 minutes left." Me: "What? Is that clock wrong?" Yes, it was 5 minutes fast! He got up and changed it (big analog clock on the wall). I said, "Oh, I see, you're having me look at the clock that's fast." He joked that he'd have me look at one clock when I come in, then a different one when I'm leaving. I said he had a remote where he could adjust the clock so it's later if he's ready to get rid of me. (These are the sorts of jokes we make to each other.)

Also near the end, I mentioned how I'd thought of playing him a song that had struck me while driving home from session last time, where there was a particular line that fit. But that it was a 6 and a half minute song, so that seemed a bit long. He agreed, but that it was up to me. I said something like, "Well, the last time I played you a song, it went well." Dr. T (smiling): "It was fine." Me: "I thought it led to a good discussion?" Dr. T (laughing): "It was fine!" I was laughing too, by that point.

We ended up discussing the lyric, and it was an interesting discussion. "I ain't got everything I need/ if I'm just living in the space between the beauty and the pain" (The War on Drugs, "The Strangest Thing"). How it seemed to apply to how I'm approaching some things at this stage in the pandemic. Like trying to avoid diving in too deep to avoid potential pain/disappointment, but then also missing out on some positive things as a result.

I don't play any word games. They are too hard for me. I don't even play scrabble.

Well I am being a big ol' lazy lump on a log today. I've literally done nothing but sit on the couch and watch tv/play games on my phone. I didn't shower today or anything. Well, I did brush my teeth but that was it. I suppose all the overtime I did at work since January 1 is catching up to me now that it ended this week....

I did buy an online course not long ago that I haven't started yet, called Finding and Living your Sacred Purpose. Because, at almost 60, I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. There's videos to watch and a lot of writing prompts. Some of the stuff glancing through it is things L and I have discussed, so it will be good to revisit and maybe go a little deeper on my own into those topics. Maybe I'll start working on that tomorrow.

I'm kinda in a funk today, having a tough time thinking about turning 60. I don't feel 60. My 'little' sisters turned 55 today, and my brother will be 57 tomorrow. How'd we all get old? I don't want a do-over, I don't want to have to live through things again, but I do wonder where all that time went. How the hell am I almost 60 years old?!?!?!

In brighter news, we got our plane tickets for our trip this summer to go visit my friend on the Oregon coast. Both of us have summer birthdays, so it will be fun to celebrate them together. I haven't seen her since before the pandemic, when she still lived in MO and we had our last 'sister weekend'. We'd been hoping to rent one of the little cabins they have there at the resort where they live (they're full-time RV'ers) but they're all booked already so I think we're just going to sleep in their RV. It's HUGE so they have plenty of space and she's already offered so... that makes the most sense to me.

Well I will stop now.

I am 60 - I think it is great. I wouldn't go back to being younger for anything. I even say I am 65 most of the time. I think it is very freeing. All the silly crap you deal with in your 20s and 30s - you just don't have to any more.

Same!! My eyes just glaze over when I see the word “Wordle.”

My (art) T cried a couple times tonight. I feel kinda bad. I made a piece of art that was a love/i miss you so much letter on one side, and my favorite picture of him on the other side. I made us run so long bc I couldn’t stop crying, and before losing Jack, I never cried once in 6.5 years of therapy. This has been so hard.
