Wow, a friend sent me USA Kit Kat, and... dang... I ought to send them proper Kit Kat some day. American Kit Kat is smaller than the ones where I live. I like Reeses.

I'm excited to try various types of instant food. They sent me lots of cool stuff!

I'm sometimes way too tired to cook a meal (thanks fatigue!) and there's a gross pest problem where I live because some people don't clean up after themselves and I spend my limited energy cleaning the kitchen because I'm scared it'd build into an infestation!

Yes, I've complained to the landlord.

feeling incredibly lonely today as two of my friends that I lean on for support are leaving today for Israel. They will be gone for two weeks. I did convince one to get What's App and the other had it so we will sort of be able to talk. But just feeling scared I guess.

All you need to do is one day at a time, Kit. The Couch will be here for you.

Well done, Kit. I'm proud of you for reaching out.
You are worthy of support, whatever form it takes.

Thank you Lost. I have to admit I am feeling a bit desperate, and I texted T again. But I told myself I am not going to text her anymore until she texts me back!

We just got a call from the cardiologist and h's stent procedure is scheduled for this Friday afternoon. I have to go with him (or at least drop him off and pick him up, he will be in recovery for observation for like 2 hours after the procedure) because he won't be able to drive. I'm not going to leave though - I want to be there if anything goes sideways - so I'll just bring my crochet bag and a book so I can keep myself occupied while I wait.

I got my blood test results from when I had lab work done on the first Saturday of the month. I will review with my PCP on June 30th. I saw the report though and everything looks good. I am no longer in the pre-diabetic range on my A1C and everything else was in range. I sent the results to my Pdoc because he never orders labs so that way he can review them. I am glad about the A1C. I think the medication change did it.

Me too, Artie! I don't want to end up with diabetes. My Mom has it and she doesn't test but when she is hospitalized sometimes they give her insulin because her numbers are off.

Hugs, Kit. That seems like a really odd suggestion on her part, even if you lived in a place that got lots of snow! I know using ice is supposed to help, so maybe that's where she got the idea? Hope the animal videos help!

I sent my difficult colleague some flowers today as a thank you for coming out to CA and helping me learn some new things. Then I second guessed myself and freaked out thinking she might not like them and that I might have made a mistake in sending them! But, as it turns out, she did really like them and appreciate them and she seemed touched that I would send her a thank you for coming all the way out to CA (from NY). But my goodness, she worked all day Thursday, then flew home overnight where she got 2 hours sleep on the plane and then 3 hours sleep at home before coming into work on Friday in her NY office and working a full shift. That's dedication! I think that deserved a thank you! (Maybe from the higher up bosses, too, not just from me, after all it was the higher ups who requested she come out here.) Hopefully having now met her in person and spending some time with her face to face will help our working relationship. I hope we don't have as many miscommunications as we usually do from now on. I need to not take things so personal and she needs to not be so abrupt, in my opinion. I guess the higher ups are suggesting she come out here every 3 to 6 months so I guess I will be getting to know her better as time goes on. I'm glad she liked the flowers. I know I always appreciate it when a colleague sends me a thank you, even if it is just a thank you in an email or something.

Ugh, i rejoined weight watchers today on the diabetic program. Omg its so expensive now, like 25 bucks a month?! I might quit after the 14 day trial period, if i can figure out a suitable diet plan for myself by then.

So, H and I have been trying to make a fairly major decision regarding D's education. I was leaning in one direction, but since have gone the other way, in part from some discussions with Dr. T, but also from reviewing the reports of her special education team, hearing what they had to say in a recent meeting, her assessments, etc. H was on the fence (as of yesterday0 and today, after talking to D's p-doc (who I really felt didn't say much of use!) and D's former special educator, he's come around to the side I'm now on.

I asked him why listening to them changed his mind when I'd essentially said the same things to him (plus what was in the reports, what the special ed team had said before, etc.). He said he just needed additional data. And then said, "I guess I could turn it around and ask why sometimes you'll listen when Dr. T says something, but not when I've said the same thing?" Touché.... And...point made.

That must be scary. I have no idea what the procedure is like, but anything involving a hospital is scary enough (for me).
