A little law school fun:
The rule against perpetuities requires the owners of property in a will to be ascertainable within a certain period of time. The fertile-octogenarian rule means that if a person having a child would break the rule against perpetuities, the person will be considered capable of having a child no matter their age or physical condition. Oh how we laugh and laugh at the fertile octogenarian rule.

Guess I'm still more stressed than I knew; about the results of my thyroid scan and H's upcoming liver biopsy I suppose. I air fried some tilapia filets just now and my stupid tongs are wonky, so instead of just making them work like I usually do to remove the fish from the air frier, I yelled at them and threw them across the kitchen with much authority and it felt damn GOOD too. They are now most decidedly broken, haha. I should have thrown them away when they first went cockeyed, but no, I kept trying to use the dern things anyway...

...I haven't yet found the little metal piece that held the two halves together, I guess I better go find that before one of us steps on it barefooted.

I just picked up some new glasses with a new prescription and I'm having a lot of difficulty reading my laptop screen with them on. Distance vision seems ok other than my eyes trying to adjust to the newness. This is so frustrating I want to cry. I don't want a different pair of glasses for normal use vs. laptop use vs. reading. I wonder if they'll rewrite the prescription with my old prescription.

NP, I had to have my glasses remade twice last time. I ended up using an older pair for reading and my new ones for driving because they still weren’t quite right. Are you comfortable taking the glasses back in to be remade or prescription rechecked?
This year the doc told me I might need 2 different pairs of glasses but I chose a frame with a slightly larger lens and I can both drive and read in them.

NP, with new glasses, I've heard that you should just wear them for 15 minutes at a time to adjust to them (and your old glasses the other time). Maybe try that? I panicked recently when I first tried my new glasses and wasn't able to read the screen, but after a few times of wearing them for a short bit of time, I'm able to read the screen now (but am still just doing short amounts of time).
