Can you get an emergency appointment at a clinic or get some insulin from A&E?

The place I worked at would do emergency medication if you had run out and take the remainder from your normal prescription.

I'm really struggling to feel peaceful today and not stressed. My Dad brought me and my coworker/friend an iced coffee. I paid him for them, he was the delivery man! I am doing lots of breathing and lots of self examining and hopefully I can get on an even keel soon. I don't want a repeat of yesterday any time soon. I hope new T can help me and that I don't scare her off!

HUGS to anyone who read this far! Kit

Kit I'm sorry you're struggling right now and that you don't have more support.

For the injuries can you get yourself to a pharmacy and buy some Steri strips. They're also called skin closure strips. Amazon might have them too.

Do you have the usual antiseptic cream too?
Possible trigger:

I know your faith has always been important for you, can you get more support from your church or an online one?

Oh Kit, I am so sorry you were treated this way. I read your “Dear T” post before I read in here. I didn’t realize you were trying to deal with your SH. I just feel overprotective of you. I don’t want you to hurt anymore with T’s that don’t know what they are doing. I am glad you feel connected to this T.

Urgent care: What d****!! The fact that they didn’t even give you an explanation on why they wouldn’t suture
is ridiculous! I also find it kind of weird your GP refused just because urgent care did. It seems like there are way too many people in health care (that absolutely should know better) who dismiss people that self-harm. Give me a break! It is 2023. I am so sorry you were treated that way. I hope your injury heals ok.

Also, that is not a very good or understanding friend. Why would she get mad because of your mental health? Ugh. You had no reason to apologize. It sounds like this friend has absolutely zero understanding of mental illness, and shows zero desire to maybe research it more, because a friend of theirs is suffering?

My sister mailed me a loaf of her dark chocolate/cherry sourdough bread - I can't wait to get and try it. She bakes break alllll the time and the loaves look like something out of a magazine. The kitchen is her happy place, she bakes pretty much every weekend.

I think the bigger challenge is to write even when you are not inspired. I have to tell my students that a lot. Being inspired is great and all -but to get something done - you often have to do it even when you don't feel like it.
One of my favorite profs from college talked about making herself write two bad para a day no matter what -not editing or fixing or judging -just sitting and doing it - and that is how she wrote 7 novels (or some number like that). Perhaps not a whole hour which can sound daunting -but I think some self discipline in writing is often a useful thing.

Kit - can you get some butterfly suture bandages from amazon? The idiots at urgent care and md's offices can go suck a tree - they are awful humans

I'll check my local pharmacy tonight. If not I'll order some. Thanks SD.

This seems like a good philosophy, too, thanks. IT would help me to get in the habit. And also, maybe something I write that doesn't seem "good" in the moment could seem inspired later, or at least lend itself to editing at a future date.

Today has been decidedly clusterish.

I was invited to an online meeting to discuss inclusion within a grief organisation where I sit on the Accessibility Board, and the facilitator didn't show up.

Five minutes before that meeting was due to start, I saw that my colleague had responded to my request to attend a work meeting tomorrow via Zoom.

Turns out that when my boss said that might be possible, she'd forgotten that we don't have Internet yet in the new premises.

'Nobody will mind if you have a cold. We all have to do it from time to time.'

Having been ridiculously unwell for the past couple of days, it seems wiser to me not to risk it.

I need to be fit for the Zoom kids' workshop on Saturday.

No, I haven't - but - since I actually have a 2-day weekend starting right now - I am putting it on my list to try one. Thanks.

Has anyone tried baking something like this in an air fryer? Obviously a dutch oven won't fit in there. This looks good, but my oven is broken.

OMG. I am SO tired. I didn't sleep good last night because I was distressed. But I haven't been sleeping well anyway, so I am chronically tired. My dad brought me and my coworker an iced coffee this morning which really helped. But I am so wiped out now. I only have an hour and fifteen minutes left of work, thank goodness! Then I can go and collapse in front of the TV. I probably won't be able to sleep again tonight. I really need to get some sleep somehow or another. My Pdoc gave me a sleep med, lunesta, which used to work but I guess it isn't really working anymore. I think I have some Trazadone from when I was hospitalized so maybe I will try that tonight instead of the Lunesta. I like really really need sleep. Plus I did all my work at work today so I have just been sitting here for over an hour and that is not helping. I would go home but I left early yesterday and I have to leave early next Wednesday to go see my GP so I don't feel like I can. But I'm so tired that I am nauseated. I hope this weekend I can catch up on some sleep but I don't know. Doesn't usually end up working out that way. I wake up on the weekends at 4 AM like usual and can't get back to sleep.

I'll have to ask my sister, she's starting to experiment more with her air fryer.

Hugs, Kit. I'm sorry that on top of everything else you're also having trouble sleeping. Trazodone worked for me back when I took it during the worst of my depression, but it also gave me terrible nightmares sometimes. I took it for a little while anyway just to sleep - even with the nightmares - but after a bit I decided the nightmares weren't worth it and used melatonin instead. I hope that you are able to get some restful sleep.

The Emotions Journal By Switch Research
– Switch Research

Just ordered this journal. I hope it helps with emotional regulation. I think getting skills in that area would help me.

Even though I am not big on journaling but I thought I would give it a try.

That looks interesting Kit, I hope it is helpful for you! I may order one myself. Emotional regulation is something I am working on too; I have always been the type to react emotionally rather than respond rationally and I can see how that tendency causes me a lot of unnecessary heartache.

Just got the package from my sister, here's a pic of her very delicious chocolate-cherry sourdough. Oh my. I already froze most of it as it is dangerously good.

Right? She's quite the baker! I can't wait to go visit her in May to spend time together baking and talking.
