Life is okay again. I didn’t book the extra session I mentioned before.

My new supervisor was nice and I got my form officially submitted. Grabbed a takeaway from my favourite restaurant on the way home.

I might reserve it for cats.I like words I haven’t heard in a long time my Una O.

I haven’t watched the Kong movies but know of the scene with the Empire State Building.

Theres a big debate in one of my facebook groups about whether its mum or mom. The americans are saying mum "doesnt exist" because mom is derived from MOther. People are realllly morons.

I did some more writing about all of this last night and came to another realization... that, her not responding to my final email was actually the last gift she could give me. Not only respecting my need for a break, but more importantly, it allowed me to get to the realization that I have to find the closure I seek inside of myself. And, it was an opportunity to practice letting her take care of herself and use what I'm learning in CoDA to not codependently worry that she's mad at me and try to control that by reaching out again and trying to ascertain if she is or not. I'm letting it go. It's a process....

I am so glad to hear that life is okay again, and that your new supervisor is nice. What kind of food did you get? My favorite to pick up and bring home is Mexican. We are so close to Mexico here, we have a lot of good places!

😅 it was from Colonel Sanders. I know I’m supposed to boycott, but my total order was for £4.32.

I know I can do the gym thing well, but I really struggle with feeding myself. I don’t enjoy cooking. If I could live off meal replacement shakes or fast food daily- I would be the type to do so.

So I usually go 4 times a month. When I was super stressed last year, I was going to KFC every two days.

What’s your usual order? I was watching a YouTube video of a two American couples who made the move to Mexico. The cost of living being more affordable was a large draw for them. The had jobs that were not dependent on location, so could live anywhere.

Mums can be flowers and you can keep mum, but mom is only one thing that I know of.
But I don't understand how mum "doesn't exist" when any number of English speakers use it to refer to their maternal unit. Is the debate between people who married their sister or brother in some hills somewhere?

Hi Artie, these seem like good realizations. The times I emailed ex-MC after we stopped seeing him, of course, a big part of me wanted him to reply. And he did, every time. But there was also part of me that thought, "OK, if he doesn't reply, that will stop me from emailing him. And give me a type of closure."

The time I found out he had BCC-ed Dr. T was basically it for me, as it felt like a betrayal in a way (I had assumed my allowing him to communicate with Dr. T would have expired, as I was no longer seeing ex-MC--I did formally revoke the privilege after that happened). I emailed him one other time, nearly 2 years ago, when I saw him while meeting with Dr. T outside during pandemic stuff. But was it.

Anyway, I'm glad you're coming to some sort of peace with it. (Of course, if this were me, as soon as I came to peace with it, she'd reply.)

H's friend is coming over this evening so they can do their fantasy baseball draft, they'll be on a zoom call with the rest of the group who live in CA. We ordered pizza for the occasion, haven't done that in a while!! Yum.

This evening I tried my hand at a double dactyl poem. It's not easy getting the rhythm of this form right! the only name i could think of that fits the parameters was Benedict Cumberbatch, so it's about him! I only know that name because somebody on the couch mentioned him one time and the name just kinda stuck with me haha. I had to google for details. Here it is:

Higgledy-piggledy
Benedict Cumberbatch
acted in movies and
also TV.

He played Sherlock Holmes (the
detective we love) and
taught English in an old
monastery.
Thanks for this!

"There must be two stanzas, each comprising three lines of dactylic dimeter ( ¯ ˘ ˘ ¯ ˘ ˘ ) followed by a line consisting of just a choriamb ( ¯ ˘ ˘ ¯ ). The last lines of these two stanzas must rhyme. Further, the first line of the first stanza is repetitive nonsense, and the second line of the first stanza is the subject of the poem, which in the purest instances of the form is a double-dactylic proper noun."

the only thing I didn't do was "There is also a requirement for at least one line, preferably the second line of the second stanza, to be entirely one double dactyl word. " because I could not for the life of me figure one out haha. but for a first go at the form, i'm ok with it.

I have been in a couple of cities recently where there were street vendor poets who would make up and type out a poem on the idea the customer chose.
