Pilatus,

Thank you for the fire hose. It's been awfully hot here. We're above 100 degrees again today.

Hugs,

EJ

Razzle Jenny,

I was very open with my latest and greatest minister. We've had three ministers in the almost five years we've been here.

Thanks for your support,

EJ

Hi Bebop,

I sent a resume out for my husband with his permission. They called him back yesterday, and he's going for an interview tonight.

Thank you for your support,

EJ

Rhapsody,

Thanks for asking for a clarification. My husband and I are kind of at a critical point financially. I think that the minister was referring to the financial aspect of things.

EJ

Fayerody,

I think the biggest burden this last year has been husband's refusal to get a job to contribute to our household expenses. When he turned 65, he seemed to think he could just retire, without consulting the financial manager, me. I've been trying to get him to sit down and look at our bills for at least three years now. When I finally succeeded in this endeavor three months ago, he said, "I didn't know things were this bad." Still didn't jump up to look for a job mind you. He also said, "I thought you were over-reacting!" -- LOL.

I answered your first two questions above.

Hugs,

EJ

Always,

Husband is controlling, but the resume was his.

I forgot to mark this thread. I'm sorry I've taken so long to answer you all.

I love your avatar.

Hi All,

One more clarification about the minister's sooner than later comment. First of all, he was concerned about our financial picture, and secondly, he was saying it would be easier for me to rebuild my life at this age, then in say five years. In other words, he would rather see me "single" with some money behind me now, that "single", older and with less money in my pocket.

Hopefully, this clears things up.

Hugs,

EJ

WOW!!! - You kind of blew me away here.... for I have never heard a MAN of GOD suggesting divorce as a solution with out an affair having taken place, and some times not even then.

Rhapsody,

He has only been a minister for five years. He said, "I'm not supposed to recommend a divorce, but, but , but..."

Husband went on interview tonight. He may have a new job!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hugs,

EJ

Hey!! - I had a thought while waiting in the doctor office today..... I was thinking about what your minister said concerning the financial struggle your marriage is having due to your husband not working for the past year and this thought came to me:

How is EJ husband not working, if for a honest to good reason, any different than I not being able to work due to my RA & Anxiety Disorder? While my husband earns a good living for his family, we still struggle at times and I know that if I could just work part time (while son is at school) then we would glide along in life a little easier.... financially that is.

What do YOU think about that.... why let $$$$ destroy something that could be beautiful?

LoVe,

Hi Rhapsody,

I appreciate your thinking about my situation.

Husband refused to look for work this past year, but he has gone on two interviews this week. Don't worry I'm not running out the door, I have invested 33 years in this relationship.

Hugs,

EJ
