Friends,

Well gee.

I complained to my boss for about the third time about the online coordinator at my college, who has from my point of view is lacking on communication skills, and has consistently put me down. She definitely likes to be one-up. I can ignore both of these issues until it starts affecting the students.

It's a long story, but the upshot was that yesterday my boss took my complaint about the coordinator personally, and claimed responsibility for anything the coordinator had done, or in this case not done.

Phew -- I knew they were close, but not that close.

Last week I wanted to quite my "live" class b/c of some student evals. I worked through that, and now I'm getting smacked in the face with the coordinator's games again. I hate it!!! When I stopped in to see her when I was on campus a few weeks ago, she said in passing that she is the e-mail queen.

In my humble opinion someone in a coordination role, needs to think oif herself as the leader of the Team, not the Queen of the Online Empire.

If I didn't need the money, I would QUIT!

The Dean's response was so angry and unprofessional. At least I drew him out in the clearing, and now he has pronounced his undying loyalty for the Queen.

Support would be appreciated.

EJ

Hi EJ Fighting with Boss and Coworker

I send you my love and admiration for staying with the job even though you work with some incompetent a**holes that act very childish or cliche-ish. Remember the fire hose? I send you the longest and most powerful fire hose so you can blast the Queen! Fighting with Boss and Coworker

Mel,

That's exactly what it is -- childish!!!

I feel like the Dean is the King of the Junior Prom, and the online coordinator is the Queen.

I guess that leaves me as the Court Jester.

I don't know -- I just wish I could quit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was at my one corporate employer, a Fortune 500 or whatever company, for 17 years. Suspiciously, after giving me a two-level promotion to come to Kansas, they decided to eliminate my position when I was 54. Guess what a few months later, I learned they put a 32 yr. old in my position. Ever since then, I've been bouncing around from job to job. There are hardly any jobs where I live, and husband doesn't want to move. I just don't fit here with my MBA, and background.

Thanks for the gift of listening.

EJ

Oh Pilatus,

You never fail to come through with a fire hose when I need one.

I blasted her yesterday, and I think she probably went into the Dean's office crying, who then promptly blasted me with a very unprofessional and angry e-mail.

Thanks,

EJ

Hi Bebop,

I am only on campus for half a day on Wednesdays. I hate office politics myself.

Husband said he didn't think he had the physical strength to do his old job anymore.

Thanks for your support.

In some very illogical place inside my first responce to you fear friend is what the heck is a jub? Life is too short for adding more stress about staying alive,

Now, a woman with you back-ground even if it's a step down can do all of the book-keeping for a big business. You could start you own offering these types of services to people. You cold be their book-keeper, adviser etc. You could be fiscal manager for a small non-profit, You could start a business that also includes working out how to finance a child's education. I have friend who have done this and love it. Yes dear I know I am using the wrong language but I think you can get it?

People who are really in need of a paid friend to jump in and help with their affairs like balancing check book. Older people who have never done it need teachers or something,
just lots of rambling. oh yeah, people who are guardians are frequently in need oh help with the froms, GOOG LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Wise Woman,

That's where I come out.

I have an LLC already set up, but haven't done anything with thus far.

At least after blowing steam, writing to my friends here, and talking to friends and family IRL I am feeling better.

Thanks for the ideas -- will keep you posted.

It's just so nice that your puppy is now living with Sky! Lucky puppy!!!!

Hugs,

EJ

Hey Hon, I was strong enough to write your post and then fell right off to sleep with the lap top napping on the floor beside me. I opened it to find my post to you. Noticed all my mis-spelling. Glad to see you have a sense of humor. Hope all is well.

Yes puppy one is with Sky and puppy 7 is under my bed. I believe she leaves tomorrow. She was supposed to go today, weather.

If I could come to visit you and give those people a piece of my mind ... I so entirely would. Bah. People are idiots. Alliances with people are the worst kind of relationship, they hurt too many people in the process.

I'm sorry EJ. Fighting with Boss and Coworker Fighting with Boss and Coworker
