I have been experiencing strange paranormal phenomena since I was 14. The list is long but it involves a water bottle spinning in a circle by itself on my bedside locker, a glass vase suddenly falling and smashing at 2am, and my hairdryer chord moved by itself the other night too. I actually managed to catch it on video but the video caused my phone to freeze and turn off, and anyone who tried to watch it told me it would skip and freeze, which I found very bizarre.
These things keep happening but the problem is absolutely no-one believes me. I posted on a paranormal forum looking for advice and support but was laughed at and basically called a liar. I'm generally quite skeptical and have looked at all the logical explanations but some of it is just so strange it defies logic. Since the last incident I'm scared and haven't been sleeping at night anymore. Does anyone here have any advice, or had any similar experiences? I would love to hear from you because I feel so alone right now. |

my cousin lives with a ghost in her house. they made an agreement: he wouldn't hurt anyone, and she wouldn't trouble him. he helps watch over the kids and is generally helpful.
i have seen ghosts, i don't know what i actually 'saw', but i know it was 'real'. before my brain damage i was very 'psychic'. not going into details, but i didn't live in the same world as most people. then when my brain was damaged, i lost those abilities. i therefore concluded that it was some function of the brain that made me different. not that i was malfunctioning, but that other's were unable to perceive. please do not fear what you cannot see. be as kind as you would to any other person, as amazed as you would be at any other phenomena. these things may be a result of energies you are creating, or they might just be revealing themselves to you. either way, they are educational. i hope you find peace, and the causes of peace~ ![]() |

I believe you. I grew up with in a house with strong negative paranormal activity and know how frightening it can be. I am now 54 and to this day every time I look down a darkened hall I think that I will see a ghostly figure. But where I live now is free of disturbances. It is just that you cannot forget certain experiences once they happen.
The forum rules state that there is not to be talk of religion, so I will try not to delve into that. But it is hard not to when dealing with the spirit world. Keep the Lords Prayer handy and if you feel you are in danger, then recite it. Also stay away from spirit boards, seances and from trying to smudge your house on your own. I think my innocent dabbling in the occult when I was a kid did not help my situation. As Gus pointed out above, try not to be afraid. On a more positive note, I see you are in Ireland. I just returned from vacation there. I have to say I think Irish people as a whole are the nicest on the planet. I wish you much peace and harmony.

Hi, I have never had any such experiences and I don't know enough to say whether I believe this phenomena happens or not. But I believe you and the other posters. There are members here that have mentioned this type of thing.
I find it interesting. I definitely don't discard the possibilities simply because I've not experienced it. I think it's interesting but I just haven't experienced it or studied up on the subject. I'm highly intuitive but I think that's a different thing. I don't know why my intuition is so high, but I've been this way as long as I can remember. |

I woke up again. I couldn't move but I could see. No one was there, but again I felt someone was standing above me, pretending to be my boyfriend and wanting me to get up and come to them. I knew it wasn't him, so I didn't move and I fell back asleep. I had another dream of someone killing someone. I woke up and at some point I had gotten up and walked to the other room with my boyfriend and started kissing him. I suddenly realized it wasn't him and backed away. I started dreaming again. It was another dream of someone killing someone. I woke up and felt like this thing was giving me these dreams to try to scare me, and it wasn't working so it tried to seduce me. :P It's sounds funny but I believe certain "beings" feed off of your negative energy or something like a succubus feeds off of sexual energy. Anyways, when I woke up the third time I felt someone standing in front of me but I couldn't see anyone there. All of a sudden it grabs be below the wrists and yank me roughly up towards it. I wake up and a few hours later I look down and I see these teeny tiny scratch marks below my wrists where it grabbed me. There were three cuts that kinda looked burned in on either side of my wrists. They were so straight there's no way I could have done it in my sleep. I posted this on a paranormal forum and all I got was oh you scratched yourself in your sleep. No. It was like they were cut with a razor and they didn't look like fresh cuts, they were brownish like an older cut. So I don't care if no one believes me because I know it happened, but it would be nice to be able to talk to someone about it and they actually believe you, lol. What's happening to you doesn't make me think you should be afraid. Some people are more inclined to experience things like this. I'm no expert by any means, but I think if you look more into this and find out what it really is it would make you feel more at ease. I'll tell you what, sometimes I get messages from (something) that I know is intentionally suppose to scare me on purpose. For me, I get messages for I hear or see something or feel something. For example, one day I was reading a book called Satan A Biography. I was reading it and all of a sudden Pandora on my phone turned on. The song it played was my Eminem and it said some thing like, "Guess who's back, back again." I got this eerie vibe from it and turned it off. That's one way things can communicate with you, through music. Another time my pandora went off for no reason and it said something like, "I'm watching you." This morning my boyfriend had fallen asleep on the couch watching tv and I was in the bedroom. I woke up at 4am just so I could relax before work and I was looking at my clock every so often. I looked at it and it said 4:45am. I laid my head back down and a few minutes later I hear my boyfriend say in an annoyed voice, "Chanelle." He always wakes me up in the morning. ![]() Everybody is psychic, but maybe you should look into it. You might be more perceptive than most. What zodiac sign are you? What can help you feel safe is protecting yourself. Just imagine a white light surrounding you in a circle, like a barrier. It'll protect you. For a while I had bad sleep paralysis. Sometimes I would see shadow people who tried to attack me. There was one thing that helped me but I cannot discuss it in this forum. Let me know if you want to know what helped. When I first read this, I wondered if you sleep walk, and are actually doing these things while you are asleep.
On the other hand, even skeptic that I am about these things...things happened in the house I grew up in. Little things that we didn't even tell each other about, just saw/heard them as odd things and moved on with our day. It wasn't until years later, after I had moved out, that something a little bigger happened, that we talked about the things we had each experienced (and they were few and far between) over the years. Anyway, after that, I did read that you can write a note, and put it in plain view. In the note, tell the "spirit" there that it is time to move on, they should no longer be here, etc. It's been awhile since I found this, but I think the reason for the letter was that "spirits" cannot hear us (and maybe not see us?), but they do see the house, room, etc. , so will see the note. ![]()

Dear Eleny, i both believe you and understand your concern. At the age of 12, my grandfather appeared to me over his coffin telling me that he was fine and i should go tell every one that death is an illusion. i didn't tell one single soul until i was in Vietnam and beginning to have many paranormal events. i have even worked with some of my clients helping them to resolve and/or understand their experiences. Talking to some spirits will help you discover why they are visiting you. They may well be there for your benefit. Others need a more direct approach. The main thing is that having paranormal experiences doesn't mean your nuts or a liar. It simply means that you are open to them. If you are open to them, try listening to other forms of Life, like animals, birds, plants, etc. If we consider that all Life around us is talking, maybe we should be listening.

The reason your phone froze up when taping the cord of your hair drier moving was because the electrical energy was being tapped into and drained from the battery, to feed and strengthen the energy of the person or persons who are responsible for the poltergeist activity and allow them to manipulate objects. It's a very common occurrence. I would consult a medium or a healer to help you with your paranormal activity problem. Who knows, maybe it's you who has been the source of the poltergeist the whole time? As for myself, I the latest on my mother's side of the family who posses unnaturally high levels of electrical energy within her body. My maternal grandmother had it, as does my mother. Whenever any of us wear a wristwatch, it usually stops working within a year. It usually takes 6 or seven months and the battery is dead as a doorknob, even if the watch is guaranteed to work for two years. I also experience lightbulbs popping at random times when I turn on the lights in any room in the house. The bulb goes "POP" really loudly with a bright flash, but doesn't shatter, and then goes dark and no longer works. It's like the filament within the bulb suddenly got overloaded and exploded. My mother says it's nothing paranormal, and that bulbs just do that sometimes, but it's happened to me over a dozen times since we moved into the house I'm currently living in now. It never ceases to startle me.

I'm sorry no one in your real life believes you. I've never experienced anything like that in my life but I recently took a refresher course in quantum mechanics that I had years ago and the hard science and math of that stuff indicates clearly to me that there is more going on than meets the senses. I certainly have no clue why that is happening around you but if it is, it is. Seems like if you could just relax and accept that would help. Like the Ghostbusters, only doesn't sound like what you are dealing with is hurtful.

![]() I have had some pretty unusual experiences myself. Like guessing the identical number another person was thinking, knowing what image was showing on the other side of a card (NOT see-through!), stuff like that. One example: when I was about 15, we were all given keys to our school lockers. One day a boy decided to tease me by grabbing my key before I could reach it. Everything I had--books, notebooks, an extra sweater, you name it--was in that locker and I needed access to it. Class was about to start so I didn't have much time. He held the key out of my reach and wouldn't return it even when I begged him. Finally, he said, "Well, there's a long list of numbers engraved on the key. If you can tell me what the numbers are, I'll give it back to you." Of course I had no idea what those numbers were--they were different from the combination numbers I had memorized for my locker's combination lock. (In fact I didn't even know the key HAD any numbers on it.) I told him, "I have no idea! I need my books!!" (By then quite a crowd had gathered around us in the school hallway.) So he thought a minute and then said, "Okay, I'll help you out. I'll tell you all the numbers--except the very last one. If you guess it right, I'll let you have the key." Seeing that I had no choice, I agreed. So I closed my eyes and began seeing random numbers floating behind my eyelids. I kept waiting, in total silence (actually, EVERYONE was uncannily silent and still) until the numbers cleared and only one was left. Without hesitation, I put out my hand and said, "The number is 7." He smirked and glanced down at the key. Instantly the smirk left his face and he turned white as a sheet. The other students realized something weird had just happened, and they crowded around to get a look, then they started staring at me. They too had all turned pale and were backing away from me. And yeah, the guy dropped the key in my hand--the last number was a 7. I just shrugged and went over and unlocked my locker--I think everyone else was in a state of shock. Several accused me of cheating: "Oh, you already knew! Either the two of you set this whole thing up, or else you had memorized the numbers--there's NO WAY you could have 'guessed' right!" I just shook my head (as did the guy) and I said, "No, we didn't set this up and I couldn't memorize that many numbers in a lifetime." They persisted, "So how did you guess correctly?" and I said, "I didn't guess. You saw me close my eyes and wait? I saw the number." Needless to say, for weeks if not months after that, I was known as "The Witch" around school. Things like that don't happen to me as often anymore, but you never know!! Actually I'm proud of it! I was discussing this kind of thing with my grandmother once and she said, "Oh yes, it's the Second Sight! You get that from me--we have it because we're Celts." (Interesting that you're from Ireland, a Celtic country! I don't know for sure about any Irish ancestors, but Grandma and I definitely have Scottish and Welsh ancestors--and they're Celts too!!) So yes--I believe you!!! Erin go bragh! ![]() ![]()

They say people with a more open mind tend to be a light to those on the other side. Those are attracted and trying to get your attention. I would suggest searching for a medium in your area and have a walk-through of your home, get some clarity, have them give a home cleansing too. For now you can set boundaries. Every night before going to bed say (in your mind or out loud) "This is my time and my space, I cannot help you. You must find someone else who can. I hope you find your peace." If you ever feel 'crowded', just repeat this until you feel peace. I will often add on "Only peace, love and light may be here. Only my family, friends and loved ones may be here." If really 'thick' I add "Everything negative, evil and frustrating is banished well out of influence range, now." As others mention, smudging frequently with white sage helps a great deal. Good luck. |
