My dad, who is 90,has memory problems. He told me he came from his doctors who told him to stop all of his heart medications. My dad even read them off to me and I wrote them down over the phone. Then I took him off of them. Only to find yesterday by confirming with his doctor that the doctor never took him off those meds. So my dad has been off of heart medications for the past two weeks and has already two blocked arteries and one with two stents in it. The medication was helping keep those stents open and keeping his heart going. Needless to say I've got to go up this morning first thing and give him his heart medications back. Don't ask me where he got it from that he's off of the medications. He doesn't remember telling me.

Had group today which was nice, haven't been in awhile. Tonight will be my first night without Depakote, hoping things continue to go well.

(((((worthit))))) I'm sorry you're going through this with your dad. Is there any way that you can have the doctor write out any changes or call you? Or can you go with your dad when he has an appointment? My dad asked me to go with him fairly frequently. We saw the same doctor, so that made it easier for me to communicate concerns. It can be scary and frustrating and confusing when they don't remember. Take care of yourself.
Thanks for this!

Thanks for the help. We decided I need to go with him to his appointments from now on, and I need to write everything down for him to remember better.

I will be seeing my pdoc on Friday. I am going to see if she will increase my Geodon by 40 mgs. I am hoping that will be enough to keep me stable without any psychotic episodes. It is just that now when I don't get enough sleep then I hallucinate and my paranoid thoughts hit me full bore. I know that it is important for me to get enough sleep, but that doesn't always happen for me, because I have been getting insomnia. I do my best though. It is weird, because when I hallucinate, things just don't look right, so my rational side says the things that I am hearing and seeing are not real, but my irrational side thinks they're real, because otherwise why would I be seeing these things. It is a battle between sides. When I'm having those symptoms, I don't know which to believe until I'm out of the episode and then actually know that my rational side is correct. This might not make any sense. My paranoia is the same thing. It is really hard to tell yourself that things aren't real or don't make any sense when inside they seem rational at the time.
On a different note, my mother is in a treatment facility for her health. She broke her arm about a month ago and had to go into transitional housing until she gets her strength back. She is 73 and has extreme COPD. Since she broke her arm, she has had pneumonia twice. She is feeling like not struggling any more. It makes me sad, because I hear how difficult it is for her to just be able to breath let along deal with the other pain she is going through. I feel so helpless, because she is 1600 miles away in Minnesota.

I'm here I guess. Hadn't showered for days until just now. I'm hurting physically back and neck and jaw all at once. Things could be better but I'm not symptomatic so I guess that is good other than the self hygene thing.

Except for the jaw pain, I could've written this. Do you have degenerative disk disease? My hygiene has been bad, too. I've been letting a lot of stuff slide.

I'm glad you're not symptomatic right now.

I'm not sure. This is all kinda of new pain wise. I have to go get looked at by a doctor. I'm downing ibuprofen and aspirin like its candy. With me anything is possible.

Spincera, I'm so sorry you and your mom are going through this. My mom also had severe COPD. It was heartbreaking to hear to hear her struggling to breathe. Please let me know if you need to "talk." You're not alone.

Hope you get some answers. Some meds can cause that kind of pain.

Being stubborn, I haven't made a doctor's appointment yet. If It doesn't go away on its own soon I will.

Good.

I found out a couple of weeks ago that the disks in my neck have reached the advanced stage of degenerative disk disease. It's been affecting my breathing some. The rest of my back is probably at the same level.

Have been having issues with voices the past few days. In so much physical pain that even just walking the dog to the edge of the garage is difficult. The only relief I get is when I'm lying down, and even that's not total relief. My teeth need so much work that I can't afford. Really feeling hopeless and useless and worthless.

On a more positive note: I don't owe as much on the house tax, insurance and POA fees as I thought. Thanx to my brothers, I only have to pay 1/3 of those fees and i live here rent-free. I do have to pay for upkeep things, as well as internet and tv. Just found out about the government's lifeline program, so want to find out about that. Knowing me, I'll probably just keep putting it off.

Not much going on this weekend, just relaxing and reading, playing games. I got to get my *** in gear this coming week and get back on track with better grades this coming half of the semester. Going to group on Tuesday. My birthday is next week, on Thursday, looking forward to that. Turning 21, yay
