I've been off my meds since late July(with the okay of my psychiatrist, mind you), and I am still stable.

Saw my pdoc today. He upped my Risperdal from 1 to 3 mg. he said it should help within a few days since I already have some in system. Here's hoping!

Well, my husband is watching this very creepy movie, "Constantine" and I don't have another room to escape to so I don't have to listen to the sound of demons! I told him that I'd interrupt the movie as often as possible

I had a very bad doctor's appointment this morning and I have decided that if I am told I have to have another one I will tell them that I'm not doing it... so there

I saw my new psychiatrist yesterday morning and he told me that I was bipolar (after only seeing him for a 1/2 hr.) I've had the diagnosis of schizoaffective for at least 10 years, and I know that it fits me better. I'm trying to decide whether or not to see another Dr. There were a couple of people who recommended him to me. Any opinions??

Eager to hear about Blue Bird's tattoo! I hope it's gone well. Sorry for such a long post!

Terabithia, I'm sorry your appointment didn't go well. Also, there is Schizoaffective Bipolar Type, you could ask him if that's what he means or if he means he thinks you're Bipolar only.

I got my new tattoo, it went well. I posted pics in here:

It's beautiful!

I found out that there are many Dr. Patel's in my area. Oops. So much for the great recommendation. I looked him up in more detail online and his specialties are major depression, post partum depression, and mood disorders. I made this appointment more than a month in advance and I'm feeling like such an idiot. I usually research into things better than that.

I have hope that you'll find the right pdoc. Don't be discouraged. It took me a lot of therapists and pdoc's to fine the right one. I think I put in more effort in that than finding my husband.

Agreed. It took me forever to find a good pdoc. But it was totally worth it.

Well, my appointment with my new therapist went well, and group also went well. We're making Christmas trees out of phone books

Ive successfully found silence. It takes more than meds to stop voice and tactile attacks. Find your silence!

Well, the doctor prescribed topamax for my hallucinations and mania. So far I have a slight headache since I started taking it, and I also got overheated yesterday and I'm not supposed to get overheated while on this medication. So I told my boss I cannot work on days where it's 100 degrees. And she agreed so that's good.

I've thought of trying topamax if I end up needing medications for my mania again, keep us updated about how it works out for you!

I'm feeling sick so I don't think I'll make it to group this week, but I have to go to my pdoc appointment for my shot

You know what? I've decided today (and don't blame it on the wine) that I'm f*****g thrilled to be schizoaffective. Who else has demons giving them messages in leaves (that I'd like to add leaves that weren't even there)? Who can tell the future? Smell cancer? Smell people's bad demons as soon as theyre in smelling distance? Us. That's who. We are like more believable x-men cause we are superior beings. I hope you all feel amazing about yourselves too. PM me and I can show you the way of light. I have four demons in me right now and the Meds haves shutted them up. Think of what I could do with that much power!!!

Made it to group today. Loving this Autumn weather, nice and chilly, sometimes rainy.

I love the weather too. Fall is my favorite.

I'm watching Goodwill Hunting for the 5th time and drinking my 1:30pm morning coffee. We're having a Folk Festival here this weekend and I hope I'll be in the right mood for it, instead of wanting to be alone at home. We're getting a new litter box tomorrow and I am very excited about it - very silly I know. I really wish we could afford to get wicker litter box furniture in which you don't even see it except for when you open the doors. We have a very tiny apartment, so the appearance of a litter box really matters. I guess if this is my biggest concern today I must be doing pretty well. I swept and waxed the floor this morning and I feel very productive (except that I'm still in my PJ's!)

I hope everyone is getting along ok today.

Yesterday I saw my doctor and the lady who's working on my ssi. She said she would call about it and let me know where I'm at in the process. I'm feeling a little sick today but hopefully things will start looking up.

i am on ssi and i absolutely hate it. you can't get decent housing unless you go on section 8. and i'm good on prying eyes. the money is better than no money, but i would rather work. it's too bad i feel like everyone is talking about me when i try to work. okay, in california the amount of ssi is ridiculous and it is not worth it if you can actually work and function on meds, do that instead. neither of these are an option for me, meds or work. hahaha. so i sit here. collecting goverment checks. BOO.

Well I'm checking in.

I feel like crap. Ever just felt like you needed to talk to someone, even if it was about nothing, but at the same time you just wanted to be left alone? That's where I am at right now.
