I got a reply back from Laurence (Fearless Vampire Killers singer) when I sent a tweet - so I'm happy.

Doing okay today. Been working through 12 step recovery program again. Trying to not think too much. It just upsets me because I can't form and follow thoughts clearly like I use to off meds.

The only upside is that now my head won't get athlete's foot . . .

I've decided (mostly at random) to name my new kitten after whoever wins the gold in the balance beam event. That's not until Aug. 7 apparently, so until then she's She Who Shall Be Nameless. She's a tiny demon who waits for me to open my embroidery floss box so she can carry one and run off and shred it.

I'm extremely grouchy from the effects of my diet - and I'm not losing weight.

My son hasn't been sleeping. Last night he stayed awake all night.

if a psych puts someone on 2 diff antipsychs what does that mean

My psych used to put me on lower doses of two antipsychotics instead of a higher dose of one, kind of to mitigate the extreme side-effects. Instead of a handful of devastating side-effects, I'd get two handfuls of less-serious ones.
There could be other reasons, though.

i saw my psych today and he put me on a second psych med. so im on a typical and atypical one. i told him my paranoia and voices were getting worse. and they are.

Yeah, and one of the girls in the running is named Catalina. Get it? Catalina? I could just call her 'Cat' for short - which is what I'm calling her anyway.

Hard to say. He's gone all quiet. Stays in his room mostly. Doesn't interact. Told me last night that I irritated him when I asked about his weight. But he's so thin. I suspect I'm going back to my role as villain. Bye bye, hero mom. Hello, goat. Boo!

I'm in the psych slammer. My pdoc was mean to me today. I need someone I can trust with this vulnerability, not feel torn down by her superiority and scathing appraisal of my attempts to be a better person. There is nowhere I can go until she releases me, so I just have to play along at her game and pretend I'm fine with it.

Sorry it's got you so shaken up.

I assume you're referring to the discussion about whether one should take anti-depressants? Have you visited that person's profile? If it's accurate, then you've been talking to a 16 year old who aspires to be a psychiatrist and is here partly for research. His tone is so aggressive and confrontational that I suppose that either he has some growing up to do or he has some emotional issues surrounding this topic.

IMO he should meditate on his signature and ask himself if some of his beliefs about psychiatry are less about evidence and more about faith.

P.S. I hope that if he does decide to go into a helping profession like psychiatry, he learns to moderate his tone and to treat others and their views with more respect. But maybe he's just going to be a pill-pusher.

P.P.S. It just hit me the irony of his demanding that others alter their signatures when a lot of people might find his offensive.

I am. I hope he does learn to doubt and accept. I've tried to engage him in some broader discussion via PM, though I doubt he's amenable. I think he would make a good psychiatrist -- obviously a smart 16-year-old -- if he ever does learn to be open to new ideas. Just needs temper the passion a bit (or a lot)!
