Costello, I bought the cow-parking book you recommended me and I truly love that it uses the phrase "unfortunately of late". Also, I've been wondering if you ever made a cheesecake that stands on its own?

"Unfortunately of late?" Don't remember that. What's the context?

I did succeed in making a cheesecake that didn't fall, but it didn't taste as good.

I've moved to a really, really high fat diet recently. Jimmy Moore's been experimenting with it: http://livinlavidalowcarb.com/blog/j...day-1-30/14409 (btw, he got the idea from doctors who use the low carb diet for athletes and other people who train seriously - we talked once about whether you'd need higher carb if you want to run - these docs say 'no').

So anyway I found another recipe for low carb cheesecake in a book on the ketogenic diet written for parents of epileptic kids. Very similar to the recipe I started with, but with more eggs - and cooked in custard dishes. I'll try it this week and see how it comes out.

He uses it a few times throughout the book, no particular context it's just a new expression that I like

I quit the diet, actually. I was completely ill on it for a month with (and I was counting) 35g of carbs per day and only two big slip-ups. As soon as I started eating more carbs, I felt better. IDK. Maybe it's just not "my" diet.

It's not for everyone. I know others who've said the same thing. Makes them ill. It seems to make me healthy unfortunately. My dream diet would be lots of pasta and noodles, rice and beans, bread, and ... of course ... sweets.

Well, except for the (brown) rice and beans, all of that makes me ill myself! I hate coeliac disease And sweets make everyone ill, I think.

Decided to see my pdoc again yesterday. After 8 months on no meds, I had the most terrifying mixed episode lasting 1 week. Short, but it was a very close call. So once we have done a 24h EEG to test for epilepsy (again), I have agreed to go back onto Epilim and try Lamictal.

I figured there is no time like the present to enjoy a chocolate diet , because as soon as I start the meds again, I will have to be mercenary about keeping the weight gain in check.
I find the idea of a beer binge quite attractive, but realistically, it would screw me up badly, and I'm not very fond of alcohol anyway - it exacerbates the dissociative experiences I constantly live with.

I just got to work and I was wandering around making the "puffer fish" face and the boss gave me a lecture. Why do I do these things? Do I work in a nursery? No!! Then whyyyyyy?!

Will the meds be temporary?

If they suspect epilepsy, why don't you give the ketogenic diet a try for a few months? Can't hurt; might help. There are a couple of researchers here (in the U.S.) who've theorized that a ketogenic diet might help with bipolar because it helps some people with epilepsy. One guy in California got research money from SAMSHA to study it but couldn't get enough people who were willing to go on the diet.

I just thought I'd poke my head in and say I'm still here. Saw my T yesterday. I finally really opened up about a lot of things I've been holding on to lately. She did really good at not acting freaked out, although I know she was a little. I thinks it's the first time a T has seriously thought about having me locked up. I've assured her that my belief in God (and meds) is not going anywhere though, and since that and meds keep me grounded (even if they are the only thing keeping me grounded), I won't hurt myself or others. I promised her for the next week definitely, I won't do anything crazy stupid. She knows that I have a hard time lying to people and won't directly lie to her (especially when I was caught up in a rant of honesty) so I think I eased her fears (at least a little, she let me out of her office). I just feel really confused right now, and meds are making it hard to organize my thoughts and analyze what I'm feeling or thinking.
Anyway, yeah, here, and not going to harm anyone.

Anyway, I'm home. Slutting it up psychiatry style in shorts and a t-shirt because it is bloody hot here.

I don't see his point. If you want to make faces, why can't you? You aren't making faces at customers or anything, are you?

I'll look into it
I did a 24h EEG a year ago which turned out negative, but I was stuffed to the gills with AEDs at the time, so it isn't surprising nothing showed up.

I vote for the continuation of puffer fish faces! (Brother Bloat, proceed!)
I was once told by a boss that my face was too expressive in business meetings. Apparently expressions ranged from amusement to shock to disbelief at some of the things people said. I was told I had to develop a better poker face.
Now that I'm self employed (read unemployed), I am free to express whatever I am unaware of, without bossly criticism. I freely wonder where everyone scattered to...

I loved being freelance. I went to work in my jimjams and put my feet on the desk while eating crisps and making translations. It was bad for my mental state, though
