I woud suppose if you had a baby with osmeone that also had a mental illness then the chances of your children having something would be very good.
From everything i have read and studied, most couples that both have some form of MI also have at least one child with MI.

As far as your meds go, no one can tell you what to do about that. its up to you.

But just be careful and realize that if things go really, really bad, your choices may be very limited.... but we all will still be here for you and love you anyhow.
Thanks for this!

For sz it's 1 in 8 vs 1 in 100 for the rest of the population. For autism we know far less albeit there is an increased frequency if the dad is over 40. Also there is regional variation with racial and geographic things for autism...for example Minneapolis total rate is like 1 in 40 vs 1:88 for the rest of the population but among the Hmong people living there it's even higher like 1:30. So far as I can tell roughly half of everyone in the US has a psych condition at some point in their lives so it's likely that if anyone has kids these days they will get some sort of label at some point in their lives.

I am doing ok so far. Haven't made it out of bed yet. I woke up before 8 am but went back to sleep. I was determined to really sleep in just once this week. I've been so busy all week. It's nice to have this day to just do absolutely nothing. Daisy wants me to get up and play!
