Hello is anybody listening?? I'm new and I don't know exactly how to do this... I'm trying to find a new psychiatrist and therapist but it's slow going.

I can't stop thinking that people are out to harm me in some way or another. It can be as small as hurting my feelings, making me look stupid or as large as looking through my things "to have something on me". I've been diagnosed with PTSD and a few other things.
People have done horribly rotten things to me for a lot of my 34 years and I don't know how to let this go. I don't know how to decipher who is not trying to hurt me and who actually is. This is hard to keep to myself. I'm soooo tired from analyzing every word and the actions of people just to see if there out to get me. I seem to be always looking for any red flag. Does this make any kind of sense to anyone??? I'm an only child and I don't have any friends around anymore.
I did read about paranoid personality disorder and it sounds like a lot of the things I go through. Does anyone have a thought???
Thank you and God Bless,
tryingtofixme

When I get tired of being anxious or paranoid, I do odds and worst case scenario. The chances are good not many people are "out to get you." Maybe "some" are but all of them? So I just assume most of them aren't and then I'm not so worried about the couple that may be. If someone is looking through your stuff to get something on you, what's the worst case scenario? Are they going to find anything? I don't have anything to be "found" so let "them" look? I just keep reminding myself of "obvious" things; "most" people don't know me or know me well enough to be interested in what I'm doing so they're not likely to want to get me or cause problems for me or I remind myself that the people who did mess with me were long ago when I was a child and couldn't defend myself or get away but now I can do one or the other in some way or another so if it were to happen, it wouldn't be as bad.

I completely understand, as my psychosis mostly consists paranoia.

As said, try and find a doctor and see if you can get an evaluation. Talk therapy is really good, and maybe if you and your doctor think it is best, look into medication and other therapeutic options.

If you want to meet people, see if there are any self-help groups in your area. They are SUPER helpful, and are a very good way to meet people, and usually they are people who understand what you are going through.

Take care.

Hello I hope things are going better for you at this time. Have you gotten to see any one yet about your mental health concerns? I hope you find a therapist soon. A medical Dr may be able to help and prescribe something for you to take in the meantime to take the edge off of your panic and help the delusions you are having as well. A medical Dr can give you medication and the Psych Dr can change them if needed when you see the Psych Dr.and therapist. Dont let the wait of seeing the Psych Dr stop you from getting help from a regular Dr that can give you something to hold you over until you see a Psych Dr. You may be able to see a regular Dr today or tomorrow if you call early enough to make an appointment. Take care Soidhonia
