Yeah we have emissions testing every 2 years here---too much smog I guess----luckily I haven't had a problem, knock on wood.

Glad you got your excel work done

Just found this: a gene mutation that increases the risk of developing schizophrenia ten fold.

Looks like my doctor isn't as useless as I think he is!

*not sure if the video will work in the US*

Yeah that's him in the video. He's the main guy for psychosis research in Ireland.

Wow that's awesome!

Is he a good psychiatrist or just like with research? I think it takes very different qualities for each.

Yeah he can be very blunt but he knows his stuff. Doesn't like to over medicate which is great and gets straight to the point. I have trouble trusting him though but that's probably just how I am.

I think it took me over 2 years to actually trust my pdoc then he moved to the VA---I got him a thank you card and that ended up being our last session---the new one I'm still not sure about I'm starting to think she's pretty good but very different in style from the last.

What a boring day...

Now that I slept and out of that agony, I feel bored. Just watched a documentary on coywolves, it's a cross between a wolf and a coyote. It was pretty good.

It's raining here, I think I'll get a roast or corned beef with cabbage. Rainy weather food. But I'll get it tomorrow...

Yeah I might have to move back to my home county to live with my folks. The psych services there are terrible, you never see the same doctor twice and only see the consultant maybe twice a year. At the moment I only see either consultant, they do 6 weeks on and swap for the following 6 weeks. It's going to suck if I have to move.

Yeah that would. I always thought mental health services were better in Ireland. Where are you originally from?

No they're pretty terrible unless you live in Dublin. Dublin gets all the services and money pumped into it but the surrounding counties get feck all!

Yeah, it's a small town where my folks live. I went to the hospital there a few weeks ago after a very serious break and someone at the hospital told my sister every detail. They even told her confidential stuff (like what drugs I had taken previously) they wouldn't tell my dad when he was there.

Really hoping I can avoid moving back there.

Yeah I would try not to move back there. Man, now I feel privileged. I see my psych nurse once a month and get 15 mins. Used to get half an hour.

But on the other hand if u have the money in the US you can get the best healthcare including psych services. But if you're poor, it's the bottom of the barrel. Jmo though.

I've heard that about the US alright, if you're broke they don't help you too much. That might not be true all over though. There's not much difference between private and public here, same doctors work in both. The hospitals are nice though, in that you're not in a ward environment with 4 to 6 beds.

I'm gonna try and really enjoy fall. Usually in late November and winter I'm in a deep dark depression. The kind where u can't even move. I'm hoping now that I'm medicated it will keep getting better. It's getting better every yr that I've been medicated properly.

I'm even thinking about decorating my apt for fall. I know my son would like it. I just don't know how much I can afford. But yeah I think I should try to.
