I have to get my bloods done again...
And if my results aren't good I have to switch medication.
But every time I switch medications or make any changes whatsoever I have to go back to the hospital because I get so out of control.

This medication works for me! Why does it mess up my hormones so much!?

I'm on Stelazine and Invega, but the one that may need to change is Invega.

Do you mean it messes up your prolactin? If so you can add a med to get rid of that effect, abilify works and something else too----I think metformin. It's not widely known your doctor might not even know.

i am on invega as well and had increased prolactin. SP is right abilify and metformin can help. both of them worked for lowering the hormone levels, but i had to change from abilify to metformin because the abilify had too many side effects.

yeah I only knew about the abilify then but metformin I think your doc did the research on.....either way I think its a great thing to know about and should be more widely known.

I'm impressed that your GP is doing bloods! I've never had any AP monitoring done by any of my GPs because they are only incentivised to do it in the over 40s on APs, though Rethink and/or Mind are campaigning to make it everyone on an AP. I wasn't even called for my annual MH review this year!

Could you not ask for a phlebotomy appt for first thing in the morning?

Today, I was bullied about my disorder... I cried in the middle of class today. How embarrassing. I didn't even get the notes.

I've been at two different surgeries since I first went on APs & both required the yearly check up. I guess it might vary depending on region what standard practices are.

And yes! I was planning on making a morning appointment. I'm usually up at 7am though so I'll still have to wait a wee while.

I'm still bothered by the fact I've been called names today...what hurts the most is finally realizing that you are crazy...
