Do you think you may have autism?

Finally getting the holes in my ceiling covered and fixed next week. Thank God. I can't stand my mood swings, they are driving me crazy. I'll be fine for like a week then I'll get really depressed and want to kill myself. I'm hoping it goes away. The only good thing about it is I seem to be able to pull myself out of it each time before I do anything stupid and try to hurt myself. I wasn't able to do that before which is why I ended up back in the hospital. I am coping better, it's annoying but I'm not letting it consume me for days like before. I either take a shower, and or leave the house, or go to sleep when things start feeling overwhelming to try and calm myself down, and take hydroxyzine as needed.
I'm glad that you're getting your ceiling fixed.

Have you got a T to work on emotional regulation with? Eg DBT is good for mood swings - I don't know if you've ever tried that?

I'm sure that's highly unlikely though. If somebody here was harassing someone with their phone, taking photos/videos without consent etc, they would be told off and it'd be confiscated if they kept it up. But a blanket ban on phones seems excessive and cruel...

I've been hospitalized probably over 10-15 times since my first visit at one when I was in high school. None of them allowed any electrics especially ones with cameras. My last visit at the hospital a year ago they wouldn't let you have pens and pencils with erasers on them.

Yeah we had no electronics either, I think it may be they want you to interact with other people more but most people in there aren't in good condition to have a conversation. They did allow books though and I got special permission for my kindle somehow but I couldn't read anyway...

Every time I end up in a hospital I always get followed around by old men who follow me around like a lost puppy talking to me about nonsense and become creepy and creepier over time. One followed me to my room and stand by my door trying to wake me up. ugh.

My first hospital stay was like that. I was with a lot of people from jail for the mentally ill. And they were creepy men. Always starting up weird conversations and following the women around. One guy flashed me. It didn't feel like a safe environment because the staff didn't care. They were mean to us. Holding cigarettes over our heads and refusing us coffee. It was awful.

BTW did anyone else get strip searched? That was the most embarrassing and belittling event in my life. I had to let them inspect me and my underwear.

I got striped search when I was in Cincinnati. The hospital was mainly for those with eating disorders but they take non-ed people. I had to take my clothes off in front of two women while they look for marks on my body.

Oh well not creepy like that but I did follow this one guy to the door of his room....I can't remember how he fit into my delusions but when I said hi to him he said it was too late to help him, this is while I was still recruiting spirit animals for everyone...so I thought I needed to help him.

lmao... that's alright... I sat around laughing and everyone thought I was laughing at them... I couldn't stop laughing until my case worker kept asking if I'm laughing because of my voices... I should of told her "none of your damn business."

I've been strip searched each of the three times I was hospitalized in the US. It was not a pleasant thing...

Depends on my sleep schedule. I'm so not a morning person. If I seem like a morning person it's because I stayed up all night and still awake from the previous day.

Confusingly, there was a manic woman at the psychward who thought I was Jesus. She carried around a notepad and pen trying to devise ways to gain insight into people's suffering. She said one of the nicest things anybody has ever said to me. I told her a brief story about what I was in there for, that I have might of been under psychosis this whole time, and she told me "If it only takes a year to become great, isn't it worth it?" I hope I never forget that.
