And although I ultimately I was lucky to go to some fantastic schools because of them, dad taught me early that the same books people at Yale read are available in almost any library. Anyone can be educated, all you have to do is read. You don't have to go to Stanford. By far, the two most talented surgeons I ever had the honor of operating with were graduates of the University of Mississipi and the Univerity of Tennessee. They were in their own leagues compared to anyone at Harvard or Vanderbilt. So...

Where I went to undergrad, we were required to take music and art history and philosophy and Greek and English lit, no matter if you were an engineer or what. Now, most of the other Ivies have that same requirement. I think it is a good idea, so folks can be introduced to a broad piece of our cultural heritge.

On my dads side his parents worked at a beer factory for most of their working years. My dad was in the navy. On my moms side her father came from Slovakia and owned and worked a well drilling business and a restaurant. Neither side were educated. Hard workers. My mom never got a chance to get an education before become disabled.

Made some decaf coffee. Listening to upbeat songs now. Going to finish my book tonight. Then play Animal Crossing and watch stuff on Netflix. Felt panic creeping up but I'm doing all I can to keep it from starting and it seems to be working so far

Yea my dad signed up into the Air Force to be a fighter pilot. He got dismissed because of his eyesight. He’s blind in one eye. But it was how they did. They told him to come into the office and sign some papers. He started to read them and they said “don’t read it just sign it” and after he did, they told him he was dismissed for good.

desoxyn, The book basically means that hell is what you make of it, psychologically speaking. It's a great example of a person and an extreme example of a horrendous human tragedy, and how one can see through the static to still find meaning to get one through the day, or I think he was in Auschwitz from 44-45. So with Viktor's year-long tragedy, Viktor came to the conclusion, "Those who have a 'why' to live, can bear with almost any 'how'.”

I met two people on discord that have schizophrenia and autism.

They were posting links to podcasts and stuff about reality and I was like hold on wait a minute.., - "Do you guys find that you're very interested in things that trigger your psychosis?" and one was like;

"Yes. Hell yes"..

I'm quite interested in pharmacognosy @ SP... But I'm not a "plant lover"?

I think it would be interesting to look into though. I would hate to be a slave working for Big Pharma. Cuz Big Pharma is more evil than anyone realizes. It's so evil that it's unbelievable to be that evil.

My thoughts on it are:

It grasps at the truths of the meaning of human suffering and its relationship to meaning.

It details a psychiatrist's journey through concentration camps and Nazi Germany to finding what makes life worth living.

It's not a linear path, and I don't think the book was intended to be one. Rather, it shows by way of example and also through other means, why life matters.

He discusses the concept of logotherapy -- which is essentially "meaning"-therapy.

I thought it was a worthwhile read for those reasons. It's also fairly short as far as impactful books go.

Hopefully that will help you determine whether you want to read it or not.

Taking walks definitely helps for me. I felt derealization 2 hours ago and thought of going for a walk but it's so cold outside (50F).

Need diazepam taper again.. (I know I hate talking about this stuff but it's just something that I have to deal with - Not my fault but I claim full responsible)....

I read for an hour but got distracted =[

I could say "I'll read an hour a day" - Maybe that could work.. just so many things... I'll write more about the exhaustion that I'm dealing with later in detail.
