In school i am getting bad grades because i dont try. But i cant try because i dont want people to know i am stupid. I dont want to fail. But by not trying, i fail Anyways. Ive tried to push myself to do work and i just cant do it seriosly. With other work i get it done. But homework i cant. What should i do?

Focus. Don't stress yourself out too much. Find ways to relax yourself, like meditating . . .walking. . . Reading. . .Drawing . . .Use these things to take breaks when your doing homework. If you get fatigued from a question, go on a 5 minute walk. Maybe listen to a song, take care of pets if you have them. . .Then go back to work. You can't let your brain get built up of nonsense. . . This can only hurt you in the end. So yeah, my suggestion is to take breaks.

Ask your parents for help, or go and ask a teacher for help privately. I'm sure they'll be more than willing to help you. If people see that you want to help yourself, they will help you.
Please keep up on your work, or else it'll bite your butt in the future. (like it did to me b

I would get help from your teachers. If they could help you individually, that may be a good thing. Also, why do you think you are stupid? What makes you feel like you are going to fail? I know that its hard to stick yourself out there, but hav u taken the chance yet? or is the anxiety of the idea of it that is an issue?

Look for extra help opportunities. Which subjects do you feel like you are struggling in? Try www.khanacademy.org.

that is not a good mindset. If you want sometihng to change, then you have to be committed. It sounds to be as if you are depressed.

depression isn't always the.... sit and stare at the wall/sleep all day stereo type that it is sometimes made out to be. you can be depressed and still fully functional in life. How are you eating? sleeping?

Failing is not a bad thing if you have tried your best, all it signals is the task was more than you could manage.
failing when you have not tried is not so good as you will never know for sure if you could have passed.
Teachers can tell those who have tried and failed from those who simply didn't try at all.
Unless you try you can't be sure you will fail, you could suprise yourself by passing.
I was in the lowest English group all the way through high school, i thought i was thick, was teased to h*** and back, but when i looked at the exam paper, it was about something i had experience of, and although i finished the paper last and gave myself a really hard time about not doing a good job, I gained the highest mark in the whole school!
you are only young, and still sorting out what you can and can't do, this will take a few more years yet, until then you will often doubt your ability, even Adults doubt their ability at times, it is normal, but just 'cos you doubt it doesn't mean you can't achieve it.
Thanks for this!

Is that's a reason why? Too much hw? Bad at test taking? Not understanding the material? Can u do anything to change being behind?

Well to be honest, this is the biggest problem in my life at the moment. And problems could be much worse. But basicaly at the beggining of the year i was getting 90s and then there were concepts i didnt understand and i asked for help and the teacher helped me. But i still didnt understand the concepts and what u learn builds from the other units. Like, we need to know unit three to understand unit four. We are on unit five and i dont get unit one. Im more lost than the crackheads im getting 50s now. I really dont want to stick around and deal with the failure and shame of all this.

It sounds like u need to go back, and take the time to relearn all of it. I know... That sucks. But it's better to get going before u are even more behind. If u can, explain to the teacher. If they can't help u, or wont, I would invest in a tutor.

if that is what it comes down to, then that is no one's fault but yours. i know it sucks to hear that. but it sounds like you are willing to complain about it, but not willing to put in the work to catch up. i dont know what to tell you. no one can make you want to learn. no one can make you put the work in. thats entirely up to you. it is your choice whether you want to continue falling behind, or if you want to step up and take the matter into your own hands.

from personal experience, you are only going to get father behind and more overhwhelmed. you are digging your own hole so to speak, unless you can somehow find the motivation to make the moves to get things back under control. i know it takes a lot to get going. but hopefully once you do, momentum will build and it will get easier. but if you dont do anything, nothing is going to be solved...

Ya i already knew it was all my faughlt. i just always think in terms of today. like ill think "i have the whole weekend to work, i dont want to though, oh screw it, not my problem, im only worrying about today. thats future djjonson's problem." i only think of terms of today, i dont give a **** about myself for tomorow. and really beggining to become in the mindset of not giving a **** where my life ends up, i mean, i did care, but now that i know my life is gonna suck, i just dont care anymore. i bought 52 ounces of liquer today. im going to get really drunk on tuesday and for the rest of the month when i can. only cost me $80.00

Have u considered an undiagnosed LD or add? Just because u aren't motivated doesn't mean it is your fault. There could be a legit reason... And if u knew why, you could be able to receive extra help or accomodations.

You are like me: it's like u think in black and white with nothing in between. You have more options than just: be a total failure or excel in school. Those are the two extremes.

U *can* fix this. Just because u aren't doing well doesn't mean u are a failure. And should not be an excuse to get drunk. U are better than that. I hope you can see that

Im not going to say "we told you so" because you probably already knew figured out that drinking is never a good solution. I hope that you can sober yourself and get things back under control.
