Well, my life is almost sleeping and study. But it should have more of study.
But I get already tired from classes...and it's very hard to make myself study. And also, I can't get focus while I'm studying, or motivated. This makes me have a lot of pressure in my daily life. And once I feel tired (what happens quickly) there's anything I can do to recover some mental energy...I can sleep during the day, specialy when I WANT to sleep. Any tips, brain suplements don't help either.

Are you able to talk about your tiredness with your doctor? It sounds like it is much worse than it should be and it could be related to health concerns sometimes.
Otherwise the best thing I can suggest is take it slow, take regular breaks and set goals of what you will complete and try to stick with them. |

After class is always exhausting but I try to not go back to my apartment until I get a bit of work done (aka I don't let myself go back to my room until some studying or homework is done). That way you can get it finished as fast as possible afterwards and just relax the rest of the day.
Another technique is setting up a time in the evening to start studying. I know I start around 6pm. I eat an early dinner and then work on homework and snack. I think studies have show that you should work for 30mins-1hr intervals. So relax for a bit inbetween and then get back into it (take a shower, bake some cookies, make yourself lunch for the next day). Normally I just hammer out as much as possible (about 2-3hrs) and then take a long break surfing the internet. Studying is tough :/ Best of luck! |

Hi Mulan,
Are you getting quality sleep? How long are you sleeping at night? Do you have a regular waking up and sleeping schedule? Do you exercise? How's your diet? Are you getting a balanced diet and taking multivitamins? Do you have any diagnosed mental illnesses? Until I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, there were periods when I would get a lot of sleep, but it would be broken, restless, etc. So sleeping actually just made me more tired. If you are really concerned, I suggest that you talk to a counselor or doctor. I wish you the best of luck, because I can empathize with what you're going through. I'm a 3rd year student in college, and I'm still trying to get the hang of studying and self-care. Feel free to reach out to me via PM anytime. Best wishes, Allie |

these little things help me maybe it will work for you too i don't know. Some quick things
take a shower to refresh do a few (maybe 30 seconds) jumping jacks to get the blood flowing and heart pumping have some raw lettuce and carrots, must be raw not cooked -for some reason this works for me even better than coffee. Also, I would suggest avoiding foods that are mostly flour and sugar. too much of foods like that can really cause constant tiredness and sleepiness. eta: romaine lettuce btw, not iceberg lettuce Last edited by pudica; Feb 23, 2014 at 11:33 AM. |

Thank you all for the advices and sugestions.
My mental tiredness is something hard to deal with...it's not something related to sleepy. It's like if I read one more word my head starts to hurt and I can read more. I guess the only thing that helps when I get on this state is just close my eyes and rest. Maybe this is bigger than it should be...I don't know, I hope not. ![]() The problem is not about what I eat...but there are many days when I wake up tired... Guess I have some sleep problem. Hope is not any other health concern besides mental health issues... My blood analysis are fine, my heart is fine, my brain is fine... Don't make me think about other hipotesis. ![]() Thank you.

I sometimes have trouble sleeping, what I was saying is when I'm tired I don't feel sleepy, or like sleeping. And when I feel tired it doesn't mean that I didn't sleep well in that night. Not physical exhaustion at all. I hope I explained myself better...

I feel ya! I have narcolepsy, so I basically spend my life trying to stay awake. Because with narcolepsy, you can get all the sleep you want, but you never feel rested.
As far as motivation and getting yourself to get focused...I've found that taking 20-30 minutes to exercise beforehand helps you feel more awake and more focused and motivated. Also, make a to-do list that is reasonable, and very very specific. Hope this helps! Good luck dear!

I had the same problem! Always tired and exhausted feeling, studying as much as I could but could never get as much done as I should. I was just recently diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. I have so many things racing in my mind to worry about, getting things done and getting quality sleep is a huge hurdle. I also felt that way when I had mono. If you feel sick/feverish I would recommend getting tested for mono (it's fairly common in people in high school and college). If you feel this way when you have a lot of stressors in your life, look into talking to a doctor about anxiety. Good luck to you!
