I want to cut. I have no reason to cut whatsoever. Its been 2 months since my last cut and all of a sudden i just want to cut. Im squirmy around cause i can feel where my cut will be. I dont want to cut i just feel like i want to cut. Complicated for any none cutters out there.

I can relate so well to your urge right now. I think it is pretty common to have these urges even when there is no event that precedes it.

I often find myself sitting around the house, either at the computer or watching tv or doing my college course, and all of a sudden feel the urge to just start cutting. I can almost feel the blade against my skin.

I wish I knew what causes it or what could prevent these urges from surfacing so I could help you out more.

Try to hang in there and distract yourself right now.

Those urges and thoughts do come up. You know, since I decided I'm going to make it for six months this time, I find myself looking forward to when six months will be up. I still have 2 1/2 months or so to go. But I already plan it out in my head.

We have a choice of what thoughts we allow and entertain though. There's not so much control over what ideas might peek in, but we don't have to let them stay. When urges come up, we have to find another thought to take their place. That's not always easy, but it helps if you prepare something in advance. Maybe a song that will soothe you and remind you of higher goals, or your plans for something positive whether short-term or long-term.

You can do it!

engel brings up a good point... but reverse it to help stay the thoughts... make sure you don't allow yourself to go to where you used to do this, nor any place where it would be easy to do so... put obstacles in your way. Put away any tools you may have used in the past..if you can, throw them away. Thought blocking works too... as soon as you find yourself thinking about it, tell yourself, "Stop!" And find something else to think about.

Each moment you prevent yourself from self harm is a longer time in space than you would have...and promotes healing. Keep up the good work!
