Last night, I had some sleep but then 4/3 hours. I was so tired during the day that I went to have a nap at 12pm but I woke up at 4pm so I probably got 4 hours sleep. But now it's 1am and I cannot sleep. I have tried but I cannot sleep. I'm not drowsy enough. Maybe the 4 hour sleep is the reason why I can't sleep now. But I'm staying up until 4am because I have to get ready for work. I'm thinking of buying melatonin or sleeping pills to make me drowsy tomorrow night. But how can I reset my body clock? Any advice. I feel like I might not sleep again.

Hi Happy,
Sleep issues can lead to an increase in your stress level. Having restful sleep is essential for you to be able to think clearly and feel your best. I suggest you get with your physician and let them know about the sleep issues. Not only does sleep issues cause many issues, they also indicate issues sometimes. In the mean time, try the melatonin to help you rest. Or buy some Yogi (that is the brand name) Bedtime tea. I assure you, you will have a restful sleep.
I've had sleep issues for almost 20 years now. Finally getting the help I need thanks to my Pdoc.
I hope you get some sleep my friend. Shy away from any caffeine, try working out or stretching for 40 minutes 1-2hrs before bed. Both have been shown to improve sleep.

Hello and thank you for your advice. If my sleeping problem worsens I will see a doctor but for now I'll try to calm down and I'll try to do some stretching and yoga. I've tried yoga and it helped me a lot. The issue is I'm simply not drowsy enough to sleep. I feel kinda tired but it's not enough to go to sleep. I had 4 hours of sleep during the day, I think this is why. And plus my internal body clock is messed up. I have to wake up at 4am every week day for work.

Avoid caffeene at least 6hrs before bed time. Avoid doing video games and computer at least one hour before bed time. Avoid heavy meals before bed time. No TV 1hr. before bed time. Give your self 1hr "Stand Down" time before hitting the sack.

Good news I have finally slept and I'm sure I had loads of hours of sleep. I went to the doctors yesterday and he told me he won't give me a sleeping tablet because people have been addictive to them. Maybe he is concerned about my sleep. But instead, he arranged for me to have a blood test.
