Lately, the last few days, I have been getting tired at work....to the pint where I feel like I could fall asleep at my desk. I come home and I'm ready for bed by 8pm. I cant even watch tv laying down after dinner because i immediately fall asleep. I also fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow. It's insane.
I get about 8-9 hrs a sleep per night, work full time, and have a dog. I don't exercise daily, but I do walk the dog. Any suggestion as to why I'm so sleepy all the time? I'm not currently suffering from depression and haven't changed any meds in about a year. Maybe some job stress, but idk what else it could be. |

Most who post here, complain that the can't get to sleep. They probably envy you. See your doctor about the Meds and have a check up.
Other wise your sleep patterns seem normal. How early do you get up? If you get up at 5am, falling asleep at 8 is normal. |

Agree with the above - see a doctor for blood tests. You have a good job (at a college, right?) so you must have good insurance. Get a thorough workup.
Thyroid problems, in women, can very easily give you that. Anemia can, too, and a host of other easily remediable physical problems. They are the first to correct or to rule out. |

It can definitely be due to your meds. I also am always tired and I love sleeping

Do you have good sleep hygiene? Good pillows, a room that's not too hot, no caffeine late at night, no TV just before bed? And do you do any exercise? |

hi, i agree that it wouldn't hurt to see a doctor and do some basic tests. There could be so many reasons for your tiredness - from depression to anemia to sleep apnea - so better get it checked out sooner then later. good luck (:

I don't think I have have sleep apnea, but who knows. My depression has been and is under control so far, so fingers crossed its not that. I did have a full physical in December, and my blood tests were normal. I'm thinking it might be my depression medicine? I don't wanna cut back though....
I usually go to bed at 10pm, and sometimes it's a struggle to stay up that late...and I wake up around 6:30. That's a good 8.5 hrs of sleep! It should be the perfect amount, one would think! Last night I came home and fell asleep from 6-7:30, then again from 10:45-6:30. Ad I could have stayed in bed! |

A low bp too makes us feel tired and sleep apart from low hb and other factors...
Sleep timings and patterns vary from person to person. You are lucky to be able to sleep |

Yea I am lucky. Now that u say low blood pressure, the last time I gave blood ( 2 weeks ago) my numbers were 90/50, which is the Lower than normal. I've always had low bp tho. Humm. I'm going to try and add excercise into my routine starting tomorrow.

Excercise will keep blood pressure lower and will help you sleep.
