So i have been having these since 2011. Back then I blamed it on Al Jazeera Arab spring live stream overdose....

But it seems there was something "prophetic" to them.

In these dreams, I am involved in some guerilla urban warfare. It looks like Europe where it takes place, but but who knows. Sometimes it's right here in PRG. The most disturbing thing about them is... i feel happy and euphoric in them. I feel great love for my fellow fighters. It is messy, violent and all... intense.

I usually wake up feeling disturbed.

So it's like five years of these ATM. And now "what would you in civil war?" became a standard coffee shop conversation... I feel growing worry. This are really growing messy here.

I wish the dreams gave indication of the outcome. But it's just "the world is going to crush".

hmmmm, I don't know what to say, venusss! I am not so good with dream interpretation. Maybe someone else here has a better grasp on this?

There's a two-fold interpretation here....

First - this on the surface could be you reflecting on the state of things where you live. (Having a literal translation of a dream isn't unheard of). I'd doubt it's technically a prophetic dream, as those dreams don't come with questions about the outcome - in fact, the outcome is commonly the point. In either case, this is only the surface meaning...

Dreams are, at their core, about the dreamer directly. Here we have you in the midst of a civil war. A great fight over the dreamscape and a catalyst for change. And you were happy during the dreams, which means that this isn't a dream telling you that something needs to happen "or else" (as would normally be the case).

When we see warring, it usually signifies that there is a massive change going on in how a person operates and acts in the world. Some larger change in perspective and motivation. The fight between the "old you" and the "new you" is reflected in the two sides of the battle. And of course it's messy and destructive. The biggest changes are.

More importantly, the fact that you're happy signifies that this is a positive change, and that you're ready for it, even if in the waking world you're fighting it (otherwise the dream wouldn't be recurring for years).

--> Is there some part of you that you're trying to let go of and move beyond? Is there some other part of you trying to gain a hold in how you view the world and how you react to it? How is the latter one a positive change in your life? In what ways would allowing this change empower you and build you up?

I will try to think about the personal interpretation, but I don't think that's "it".

There is no parts of me I want to kill with rifle from black market. Or burn by throwing a Molotov on it.

I don't really see any change. Honestly? I don't want to change. I arrived at the point where I am have quite stable career, self-imagine and I managed to get rid of my social phobia.

But I have been always very interconnected with the world. I cannot be personally calm and happy if there is trouble in the world. And now we got a bad one in my part of the world. And I know people who have been directly impacted by it. I may not have a big personal loss yet in this struggle... but I am a part.

So I don't know.

Again - the civil war and happiness aren't a literal interpretation. It has to do with personal change...

If I felt comfortable posting more details, I would.

But you will just have to believe me I am not some westie girl who struggles with changing who she is as a person and her inner struggle is her only struggle.

If it was so... I would not worry so much. If other people in my network didn't have the same kind of dream and if it didn't scare others who hear about it.

Maybe it's my brain releasing it's fears. Maybe... but why it always seems to make sense in retrospect?

Wait - other people in your network are having the same dream???

If the details are similar enough to not be simple coincidence, you might want to look into the Jungian theory of the "collective subconscious". The basic definition is that there is a point where a person's subconscious (including dreaming) mind connects with others. Think of it like branches on a social network tree. Your branch (which signifies your subconscious mind) goes on its own, until it merges with other branches. This bigger branch is the collective subconscious of the group, and that might merge with other collective branches farther down. Each connection is harder to consciously reach, though a person may still be influenced by it. The concept is a theory, and has no concrete basis that it sits on - after all, how would one prove it objectively? - but it certainly relates to people in the same community having distinctly and specifically similar dreams.

----

Regarding how "correct and true" an interpretation is...well, there's a reason I don't believe in charging for dream interpreting. When it comes down to it, only the dreamer can say how accurate and true an interpretation is. My job is only to offer suggestions and possible meanings. It's up to you to determine what the meaning actually is.

The fact that more people have very simmilar dreams AND feel the same euphoria/happiness in them... is what I find the most terrifying.

::nods:: I can understand that. Deep down, it still reads like a symbolic cry for change and transformation, even if on a collective scale (which, in and of itself is mind blowing)...

I'm guessing you have some thoughts on these dreams outside of dream interpretations?

well, I have good suspition they might be "prophetic" dreams. Picking up some tension in the air.

And I mean, we now have war on my continent. In place I always cared about. And right now in my very own country weird groups are forming, tensions are at all time high...

I just don't think everything is about me and I have been always very interconnected with the world. But at the moment me and those friends with the same dreams have different worries then struggling with ourselves: Maybe we still do, but that is just not the priority at the moment.

Prophetic dreams, though.... tend to have no doubt left behind after waking. And there's usually a neutral stance when experiencing it (like "Oh, this is what it is...okay).

This is why I posed the collective subconscious theory. It's a bigger scope for the source, but it may not be "prophetic" or "divined".

I had some that then came true and there was always emotion involved though.

Maybe it might be some collective fears reflected. I don't know. Could very well be. But I don't see how it could signify just personal growth. Wouldn't that be less messy and violent?

No, growth = change, and in dream symbolism, change is often shown as violent and/or messy...

But with the collective subconscious it may not be the personal growth... it's more like tapping in to the community's perspective as a whole.

But could that be change outside of the personal realm? On societal level?

In the case of a collective dream, yes. Basically - if it's a personal dream that others aren't sharing in then it's personal growth and change. When you change the scope to a collective dream, you change the context of the meaning to fit that scope.

Think of it like a large number of people subconsciously crying out for help, using the same basic set of images. Since it's about the world and society and not each individual person there's a chance that the dream would be shared by those in the same community, sharing the same perspective. ((I say "there's a chance", because as I said earlier - the 'collective subconscious' idea is a theory that can't really be proven or disproved. It is, however, the best fit for this particular scenario...))
