went to a BBQ and it was nice. spent the majority of the day looking at blogs and weather sites about hurricane dorian. Poor bahamas they have been beaten for a record setting duration.
Terrible. Will have to wait until the morning to see if it will turn north or not.
Back to work....lite day tomorrow...need to drum up some more business.

I appreciated the reference to drinking because we are thirsty. that alcohol is a dehydrating substance. that we drink to satisfy a thirst.... but it does not help so we drink more. I know that when I stop by fat pats after work I drink quickly. maybe I would be better off just drinking water.
Tonight,
We are getting ready to go to a dinner party and I have been drinking all afternoon.
I started off with bloody marys at noon at brunch at the diner.
I did a couple loads of laundry and some paper work.

I love mineral water--especially San Pellegrino--perhaps order a nonalcoholic drink first? It is the same thing with food--eat soup/salad first before moving on to the main course....

Yeah, since alcohol technically dehydrates you, it's good to have some water or soda along with it.

I typically tried to drink 1 alcoholic drink, then one glass of water. Of course that only worked when I was reasonably in control. If I went on a binge, all bets were off.

I really over did it last night at the dinner. I blacked out and then got sick at home later. Had to get up early to take the car in for a minor repair. I am not myself today. Coffee is only helping a little.

I am very happy to report that my back is doing so much better!!!!!!
Saw the chiropractor on friday and today it feels really good.
I set up a schedule for weekly visits for 2 months. Now I don't think I need that, but can't get out of it as I signed a contract.

The dinner party last night was a bust...I over drank. Got sick at home.

Had lunch with my friend Melissa, whom just got back from her Portugal.
She walked the Camino...sort of a pilgrimage.
......a total of 190 miles!!!!
Shared some stories, met a lot of people along the way.

She had a fabulous time.

We went out for dinner tonight. Had char broiled oysters they were delicious. Then I had cajun quesadillas, jeff had gumbo he said it was better than cris' po boys.

Our cat Hattie's cancer has grown again...there is a small sore on her back over the tumor. There really isn't anything that we can do. we said we were not going to operate on her a 3rd time....she is our DNR kitty.

I am tired think I will hit the hay. Bed time routine takes about 20 minutes.

I met with Carol(AAsponsor) tonight....
I really like her.

We have been meeting on tuesday evenings for a couple of months.

She wants me to start meditating. Daily if possible.

I am to set the alarm 10 minutes earlier and then when the alarm goes off hit snooze and then meditate until the alarm goes off again.
I told her that I was going to restart therapy again with Robin and go once a month.
She thought that is a good idea too.
She is a good listener and is wise.

I met with my T yesterday, she wants me to meditate too! (Whenever I can't stop my thoughts from racing.) She suggested tapping (if you have ever heard of that ). I will try to meditate more. I have occassionally meditated. Sometimes it helps. Perhaps it would work better if I did it more. As far as I am concerned, savasana meditation (corpse pose) at the end of yoga counts.

Bizi, Glad your back is feeling better.

I meditate a lot, and when I first started, I found I needed guided meditations. There's a phone app called "Insight Timer" that has guided meditations of varying length. You might want to check them out.

check out the website Sounds True. I think they have some guided meditations that are free. You just have to be careful with them, because they're a mix of free and paid programs, but their programs are all really good.

I am getting older....
I have a tooth ache that came from chewing on a tough piece of meat. I don't have any fillings so thought maybe this is what a cavity feels like. It is getting better thankfully.
My right foot hurts on the side, mysteriously woke up with this hurting. My back has been bothering me more...and my ribs are sore. Ate more than half a bag of gummie worms and my tummy doesn't feel good. And I have been having more hot flashes.....I hope I can sleep tonight. Only had 2 beers. Saw Carol tonight and that was good. Watched the pbs special ken burns country music. We have liked this the 3rd night.
I think that is enough **tching for tonight.

Occassionally the conversations between my H and me are just making an inventory about what part of our body is hurting. Hot flashes suck. So glad mine are over and done.

Bizi, you might want to see a dentist. I had a toothache one time that infected the whole side of my face. It swelled up like a cartoon character. I had to have the tooth extracted. Luckily it was when I was a kid so it was a baby tooth.

Bizi, I second DownandLonely's suggestion to see a dentist. Our teeth aren't supposed to hurt, so it could be a cavity, or exposed root.

Sorry you're having hot flashes. I managed to get completely through menopause without them. I feel incredibly lucky.

Got up a little earlier this morning because I was going to get my nails done, but decided that I would not do that so here I sit on the computer.
I had a lot to drink this weekend. Seems like I am out of control.
Hubby never says anything.
I am reading a good book by alan carr: the easy way to quit drinking.
It is good so far but has not gotten to the point yet. I still have 100 pages left to read.
My right foot continues to hurt. How long do you wait in pain before seeking medical advice?
Last friday I told my chiropractor about my foot and he adjusted it which hurt and I don't think it helped any.
Have a light day today an afternoon client did not work out as he is now in the nursing home after an illness. and I don't go to the particular nursing home. I give in-home pedicures to the elderly. Have been doing this job for 20 years. Love it! But my business is slowing down and I don't know why. need to work on building up my practice.
On to my second cup of coffee...need to get going!

Saw carol tonight that was good.

Called my old therapist about making an appointment...she has yet to get back in touch. I will see her once a month.

Jeffs birthday is friday and I have yet to find him a gift. I am looking for a magazine rack for the floor. He mentioned that he wanted one in passing so bed bath and beyond folks recommended hobby lobby. So I will go when I have a break tomorrow.

my folding stool broke so I need to research it and find a new one. It is usable but could scratch the floor. So I really need to get right on it. Update: I found one on amazon so that is great! It will be here in 2 days. It was on sale so decided to pop for the extra shipping.

Had my blood drawn today chem profile and parathyroid hormone. lithium level came out fine.
I have an elevated calcium level so rechecking that. AM hoping that my parathyroid level is normal.

My right foot is painful. I made an appointment to see a nurse practitioner who is filling in for my regular doctor who is on vacation. And her first appointment was for the end of october.
Not good. So I don't know what is up with my foot.

I am behind in my billing...need to get on that!

hugs to those who need them

I had 3 big beers last night at trivia and could not sleep last night. fell asleep around 5am then got up at 10am. So that is 5 hours of sleep, not good. Am still reading Alan Carrs book the easy way to stop drinking....50 pages left and he still has not revealed the "easy way".

I jammed my right 3rd finger yesterday preventing a fall. It really hurts today.
my right ankle is still hurting. 12 days ago I woke up with it hurting just getting out of bed. sigh. It is not broken but don't know what is going on. I hobble when I walk. Going to do billing today, am very behind. Can't get paid unless I send a bill.
Hugs to those who need them.
