I have never posted before, but I have been active in the chat room. I am getting more comfortable with everyone on here and find that it is a wonderful feeling being able to talk with people who understand.

I do have a question though of something that comes and goes occasionally, especially around my monthly cycle and wonder if anyone else has had this.

I get this breathing thing that I am not sure how to express. I called it shakey breathing, but actually it is like sobbing breathe without the tears. I also feel that I could throw up at any time, I feel the back part of the roof of my mouth tingle some. I can breath, that isn't a problem, it just feels like I may start to hyperventilate. The breathing happens when I take a deep breath in, so it isn't a constant thing, but the nausa is. Has anyone else experienced this?

I did mention it to my Pdoc, and he shook his head yes, but I should have elaborated more on it for my understanding or to make sure he understood what I was saying. I worry about the doc not understanding what I was saying. And I do have an appointment coming up with my family doc, so I will mention it to her as well.

I am just hoping there are others out there like me so I don't feel like I am the only one or that there is something more serious wrong with me!!

Any one out there or can share similiar experience??

Darlene

Snowflake,

Around my cycle I do notice I have more symptoms. I haven't experienced exactly what you talked about but can very much relate to how you feel, I am more cardio sensitive so usually I get more palps etc. I believe as well as others here probably do that our hormones play a big part in anxiety feelings. Take care lots of great people here to shed some light. Btw I do get the shakey feeling it feels like I am shaking on the inside and it can travel all over my body. Hugs for a good day.

snow, what you are describing sounds a lot like what I experience when I'm having a panic attack. I also will have shaking...always in my hands, but the worse the attack, the more of my body will shake.

My T gave me lots of different deep breathing exercises, and other things to do to work on the anxiety, but for me, nothing really worked until I got some anti-anxiety meds. If it persists, you may want to bring it up again with your pdoc. Especially if you only have this problem at certain times of the month, you could take something like klonopin just when you have the problem, without as much risk of addiction as if you were taking it every day.

Good luck.

Thanks for your response. I will bring it up to my Pdoc when I go to my next appointment.

Hey snowflake,
Hmmm, interesting that you should bring this up. I've never really thought too much about the breathing patterns and how it affects anxiety disorders but your post made me think about how I breathe when I go into panic attacks. What happens for me is I breathe really quickly, almost hyperventilating, and then I consciously try to slow it down. This is where I experience what you've described. When I try to slow down my breathing becomes incredibly shaky and I sometimes feel like throwing up. It's a bugger but it's only a symptom of the anxiety so concentrate more on getting rid of that and you won't give your difficulties in breathing a second thought coz it is only a result of your anxiety. Well, hope that helped, I'm not really in any position to give advice on anxiety, because it's something that I haven't been able to control in my life and recover from, but I reckon you'd get enough satisfaction from just knowing that there are others out there going through what you are going through. Be safe, have fun and hope to chat to you soon. Cheers.

thank you Ozze for responding. It does help to know that I am not the only one that experiences certain symptoms. I know that it is caused from the anxiety, but still need the reassurance. Thank you once again....and I enjoy chatting with you in the chat room.....
