I know quite a few people with ADHD and i see the same kinda pattern happen with them where they seem defeated or that they should just get on with it and dismiss their struggles cause 'others' don't go through what they do. Seeing how they get treated upsets me to the point i wish i had ADD/HD so they wouldn't have to deal with it all by themselves. I want to learn about the subject more so that i can be a better cousin/friend to them. Learning more about it will give me an insight that others won't have cause they either don't believe in mental illnesses, think it doesn't apply to them or thinks that is isn't important. Thanks ![]() Claire ![]() |

The HARDEST thing to me is .......RELATIONSHIPS....personal and professional. Unless you have it .....most don't understand unless they are very sensitive and empathize with you.

My disorganization, fidgetiness and going to sleep. My brain doesn't shut down. I can't take meds because of high by. I wear headphones at work to keep the distractions out.

I am seeing an ADHD specialist soon, but I am fairly certain that I do suffer from ADHD.
The hardest thing about living with the symptoms of ADHD, for me, is the low self-esteem, mood swings, and depression that often accompanies the disorder. |

Oo okay thank you for that so does it impact your ADHD in anyway? Like if you have high sugar levels in your blood could that make your mind more active or have a sugar rush?

Solidifying tasks. Tasks are arbitrary. Therefore each step of the task becomes a task in itself but left undefined. Subsequent tasks cannot follow. In the end the task will solidify itself and there is nothing I can do at that point.
It results in failing to have a tangible object of conversation. When the conversation becomes self referential I can't hold my consciousness, at best I pause and release. This is worse when there is another mental task at hand. Separating my thought process from a dominate arbitrary concept leaves me with no grasp on the meaning of the conversation. I am left confused. Irritated by nonsense. Sometime the arbitrary concept is an emotion. This makes it easier to retain a conversation that does not result in the other person complaining. One of the easiest things is separating myself from feedback. For instance, I had to learn how to speak again after resuming treatment because I could hear my own voice. |

Being able to follow along in conversations. When people assume you're not listening, but it's because you can't seem to turn off that thought you have about something that happened three hours prior.
Not being able to talk, and do certain things at the same time. Starting a sentence, and then saying "Uhhh....-" until you've completed a task with your hands, or finished merging into traffic. Letting messes pile up, because you forget about them! |
