Even with the meds I still get cycles. So what's the key? Granted the cycles are less severe than they ever were before but I'm disappointed. Input?

I think an aspect of it Ryan is to control your environment in the ways that you know to not trigger cycles. We are bp, we will have cycles. But the frequency and severity of them, I believe, is within our control much of the time. It's important to always create a soft place to fall when cycling down. Use the manic energy to your advantage to create the environment that works for you. If I can be of any further help please let me know.

On another note, I've been following your posts for a while now. I think your are just about one of the most compassionate men I've ever come across. I hope our paths cross more real soon. TgrsPurr.

Hi sweetie, well you know that I'm on a myriad of meds and I very much still have cycles, albeit I don't think my meds do too much for me. But when I say that, I know what I was like before all these meds and I certainly don't want to go back to that hell. You may always have the cycles, maybe they'll be more bearable now and not take you to dangerous places like they were before. I wish you all the best with your new med cocktail. Let me know how it's going eh! Love ya bunches!

yep, that's the deal. I've been saying this all along, but nothing like living it to realize it.

The meds aren't magic. If they help some, that's a success story. Everything helps "some." That's what we have to realize to live with this. We can say, like parrots, that there is no cure, but this is the reality of it. So you are always going to be evaluating how much difference "some" is, and what is the trade off. No single decision today is likely to carry you through; you will be making an endless series of decisions as your life goes on and your understanding increases.

I don't mean to strip that down to quite such a bare knuckle delivery, but you and me go back as they say, so I think you can understand me. lol

Consider too, these drugs all take their sweet *** time to work. So, on the good news side, one that seems to work "some" now, may soon be working even "some" more.

You've really got gold stars in your attitude collumn Ryan, and you're gonna do fine with this ultimately. I'm a sqrl and know such things. lol.

Ryan,

Bear in mind, it can take up to two months to get the *full effect* from your new meds *sigh*. Just remember the advice you offered me - know what your mood is and accept it, don't fight it. I know the cycles suck (going thru them myself) but, all we can do is grab the bull by the horns and ride 'em out. I'm still trying to reach that 8 second mark myself.

Huge Hugz and MUCH MUCH Love,
Jenn

Keeping a chart of your moods, symptoms and side effects is always a good idea. It helps when you go back to pdoc and see about any adjustments that you might need to make. I always find that if I go in unprepared like this I always forget some things that I wanted to talk about and regret it afterward.

Your doing great Ryan. I agree with sqrl that in the attitude column, your doing great. Keep it up hon. xo TgrsPurr.
