I think I must be having either a manic or mixed state. Hallucinations (mainly mild, thank goodness) sleeplessness, lack of appetite, thoughts flying all over the place. Thought I'd be okay today, after spending a civilised day in town with a friend and watching the King's Speech. But here I am, two am, I had four hours of sleep last night, and I'm just not tired.
Is this something I should talk to my doctor about? I don't know what to do about it, I've not had something like this since my new meds.

Definitely. I hope you don't move any further into mania. Call- they may want to tweak your meds.

Sorry to hear about your difficulty sleeping. Melatonin seems to work for me. I hope you get some sleep soon or see a doctor who can help. Take care.

Sorry you are not sleeping. I know what that is like. I am averaging about 3 hours a night for the past 2 weeks. Not hallucinating though. I hope that you can get your meds right. Annege brought up a good natural supplement (Meletonin), that may help you. It doesn't work for me, but I know others that it does help.

If you want to use something for sleeping, and your apetite, you could try using Persen for sleeping, and B-complex for your apetite and imunity.
I'm curently using both, they're safe even for little children and pregnant women to use, because they're on a herbal dose and not filled with a whole chemestry set. I may be fifteen, but I assure you, both are good for adults and little children. You just have to be careful with the doze you take.Neither have any side effects, but Persen (at least to me) is ''strong''.I can take the whole pill, in stead of using half or less, though then even after waking, I'm drowsy for the rest of the day. |

I've got melatonin online (it's illegal technically in this country, they don't prescribe it, for some reason, to under fifties.) It worked wonderfully well, but it takes me the whole next day to be thinking straight. So I'm waiting till Friday night, since I have to be up early to get my son sorted for school. Of course, I'm technically up early
now... Today I've just kept crying, when nobody's been looking, though I think folks might have noticed occasionally. I had to get a taxi to group today, and I can't describe how awful I felt. It's my first "group", and i just wish... I feel at once like a failure, a pompous *****, a fraud... what am I doing there? When I got back I just lay down on my side and covered my face with my arm until my son came home. I really don't know at times what's the point, and if I'll ever move again.

I'm sorry sleep is so elusive.....I hope you find some before it's morning there!
Have you tried just reading something boring that might make you start feeling drowsy and then going back to bed? This is one thing suggested to me, to not just lay in bed.....but get up, do something, read, journal, whatever, until I feel drowsy, and then lay down again. And if I'm not asleep in 30 minutes, get up and do it again....it's taken me until 1 or past many nights recently to get to sleep and then up at 4 again! Maybe you do need meds tweaked, too.... Hugs to you; I hope it gets for you soon! |

I'm going to talk to my case co ordinator tomorrow (hang on, today.) It's now quarter to five am, I have to be up at seven to get my son to school... this is getting really silly.
Thanks guys for the help. Don't worry, I'm not all doom and gloom. When things go well, I will share that with you too. I'm sure that, eventually, we'll get to the bottom of this. (At least... I really REALLY hope so.)

Thank you guys for caring. (((hug))) I did get to talk to my care co ordinator, and through him my pdoc, who has suggested increasing my seroquel slightly, to see if that helps. As well as the sleeplessness I've been having some other symptoms, not sure which caused what.
Anyway, things are slightly better, and I think will continue to improve.

I'm sorry mgran. That's the last stress you needed right now.
What meds are you on? Are they stopping you from sleeping? I'm on Wellbutrin and battle to sleep. Need to speak to my pdoc about a sleeping aid. It sucks that pretty much every med that works for me, has some kind of side effect |

I'm on lamotrigine and seroquelXL. The seroquel normally helps me sleep. Because I've been having some breakthrough psychotic symptoms the pdoc has increased my seroquel, which seems to be helping a little, I'm getting to sleep around two am, instead of between four and six am. And yesterday after I took my dose the panic and despair started to subside. I'm getting a phone call from the support team every day until I stabilise, and I had someone come out today to help me with the financial problem. With her help it will be manageable.
Thank you guys so much for your support. Sugahorse, let me know whether your doctor can find a solution for you. I think every med has some kind of side effect. Seroquel has been the least difficult for me.
