No more limiting fruit while local California fruit is in season! Gravenstein apples, apricots, plums - if I do not eat them now, when will I eat them? The season is short. A diet can wait until it ends.

I had some apples with feta cheese this week - heavenly. also a cantalope with feta after swimming one day. so refreshing! I love french feta, but don't often find it at my usual grocery; I need to hunt some down, I love the milder flavor, it's like a caress. I tried unsweetened chocolate almond milk today (my little grocery is going out of business, so I am buying odds and ends). it was okay.
Thanks for this!

Dark Heart, so if I understand it correctly, with carbs, it is a simple arithmetic: you subtract the grams of fiber from the total grams of carbs. So beans have a lot of carbs, but are also very rich in fiber, and if you subtract the grams of fibers, things are not so bad.

Am I getting it right?

yeah but sometimes they do the subtraction ahead of time without noting that they are showing you "net" carbs.

bean carbs still go straight to my hips, fiber notwithstanding (or sitting ) - idky (i don't know why)

I put on weight too. My doctor warned me to watch what I eat. She was right. It took no time at all to slam on 20 pounds.
However...been watching my fat and carbs. been walking and running. It has taken 4 months but I have lost 12 of those pounds.
And it isn't easy. I don't have the same motivation as when I was manic. I could run for miles. literally. I have to work 3 times as hard at getting myself out there to burn off the calories.
But it is working and that is my motivation.
My medication has given me back my life. But the trade off is that I don't get to eat whatever I want to anymore.
It's a great trade.

Well, I started Metformin weighing 187 and I now weigh 182, which is a modest weight loss, but we know that people who lose weight drastically gain it all back, right? So slow-n-steady be it.

Today is my first day commuting by bike. We will see if it helps me shed weight in the long run.

180 lbs before I left.
191 lbs now.

Back to the old weight.

Why:

ZYPREXA!

Plus, less physical activity and more holiday food.

I have run out of ZYPREXA and I have determined not to ask for a refill. Will deal with life issues in all sorts of way but without Z.
