I know I am not alone in this one, who else gets stressed out during the holiday season? And we all know what stress causes.....
Feel free to skip the long post and write what is causing you stress and how you will handle it this year. I really thought I would be ok this year. Really. My t/pdoc and I were very confident about me going into this christmas season and being able to cope... Well that was before they started showing the 10 year anniversary of the Boxing day Tsunami all over the TV.... exactly 10 years ago on boxing day I was in a locked ward, put there by my grandparents. My grandmother lives 3000 km away so I didnt think I would have to worry about her this year.... til I was informed she is coming over on Boxing day (for those of you that dont know - boxing day is the day after christmas). I've been triggered by the TV coverage, it has brought back nightmares and memories of that time. Now I have to face the one who put me there at the same time of the year that she put me there, exactly 10 years on. I am extremely anxious. I havent done much to combat the anxiety yet as I kinda forgot what to do when the memories hit me. This post is an attempt to get me to help myself out of this. I havent been this anxious for months. I have countless chores to do but not much "fun" to do right now. My pdoc is always saying I need more fun and less chores, but the chores need to be done and that leaves no energy for fun, especially when Im running on such high anxiety. I guess my next step is to CBT this stuff. See if that helps. Maybe do some more exercise and go outside, seems like such hard work when all I want to do is curl up in a ball and rock. |

destress u need fun .............grab 24 hours just 24 hours u will tell the work leave me alone i need to do something fun (or just sleep and recover that way) as for your grandmother ..........simple say i am stronger this time if u do not like something going on calmly get up and head to a area u are incontrol of your room or what ever and stay until u are feeling better or they are gone u can always leave get in a car and go someplace away from what is stressing u ( u do not need to stay in anything toxic u can leave excuse self nicely and just leave) if u do not feel like nice u can drop a bomb (tell something that is a huge secret and leave) granny grows weed uncle is gay ....what ever and escape in the chaos .....only do that last one if all escape routes are cut off u will get a opening to get out |

Thanks Justugh, you are a kind soul trying to help
![]() Yeah Im thinking I need fun today - but I dont know what to do that is fun! My downtime is chilling online and watching good tv series, but my internet is dead slow today (bringing on frustration) and I havent got any new shows to watch. You are right that I am able to leave at anytime that I see my grandmother, this is part of my cbt stuff - knowing I am in control, I can leave, my boyfriend would not let them lock me up again, I am med compliant and living independently, and so far there is no threat of harm to myself (just thoughts, and they could be stress-related OCD). Im just really hoping this doesnt trigger depression for me. Thats the other thing I need to think about, is staying healthy as possible, my diet has been less than ideal lately (2 lots of takeaway in one week ![]() Also the deadly snake in the feed shed has scared me too much to do many things outside which is a great way to keep depression at bay for me. |

well i can tell u the snake in the shed is more scared of u .......it is just looking for the mice that come to eat the feed and grain ......think of it like a Owl that does not hoot
plus snakes need heat so it will go for dark warm places ........if it is getting cold there it will start to react slower and slower until it sleeps until spring ..........if u see the snake it is easy to tell if it is a bad snake or just a snake ..........venomous snakes have a arrow shaped head more pointy non venomous have more of a rounded nose (boy scout trick) snakes are good they kill rats and mice that carry bad stuff into the house so do not kill it unless u have too if u want something funny to talk about ask your friends if they would suck the poison out of a snake bite ( i walked in on my brother screaming at a friend no i do not care i am not sucking your *** ) turned around ran away he came and got me told me what it was it .........i said the same thing yah man we are buddies but i am not sucking out it u are on your own |

Hehe. I am in the southern hemisphere so getting into very hot weather. The snakes are very active and vicious at this time of year. I have seen 3 this season, with my friends seeing another 4 on the same property - all dugites and tiger snakes who's venom can kill if you are not provided with the antivenom (a 40 minute drive to the closest hospital). The dugites tend to nick off but will go you if cornered, and the tigers are fighters.
It would be fine if my neighbours were home but they are all away on holidays so I have no one close by to help me if the snake does become a threat. I worry about the 4 dogs, 2 sheep, pig, goat, chickens, mini ponies and of course my beautiful riding horse knowing that the snake is still out there (usually we kill them on site as they are a threat to the children and animals). But honestly the snake is the least of my problems this chrissy, feels like just another excuse not to ride my horse, which is one of the best therapies! |

I have no right to have a gun and never ever should have access to one unattened. A friend suggested I take my bow and arrow but thats as close to a deadly weapon as I will get. Plus another one will just come take its place (they are territorial) so really I just need to be aware and not alarmed and carry a shovel with me when Im working around the property.

I have a horse bow as horse archery is one of my hobbies. Need to get the fire breaks done so I can continue to train my horse.
I did my cbt, sat outside reading a magazine, pinched one of my partners cigarettes (naughty naughty) and journalled. Then I came in and meditated for 2 1/2 hours. I started feeling anxious and agitated again near the end of the meditation but I layed still until it went away. I still have 6 hours of this day to get through and I havent even started on my chores. |
