I got out of the hospital after a 12 day hospital stay on Monday. Called work yesterday and found out that my position is being filled and my insurance is being inactivated. I'm freaking out about this and I keep trying to calm myself down but it's not working. My husband said everything will be ok and he's ok with me not working. I was going to do a partial program, but now I can't since I won't have insurance. IDK wtf I'm going to do about meds. My husband said I should take this time to work on myself, but how do I do that if I don't have access to therapy? I guess I'll just try to go to as many NA meetings as possible.

To top it all off, I've been put on a no gluten, no dairy, low carb, low sodium diet. I have no idea what the **** I'm supposed to eat.

Sorry Mo. I am always here for you. At least your husband is calm and supportive.

Hang in there!

I wondered about the "legality" of it as well. Glad your husband is calm and supportive... Do you have low-cost, community type services where you live?

I would apply for Obamacare. I had to do that last year and it was pretty easy. And it wound up saving me about 50 thousand dollars because I wound up going inpatient.
Also, bipolar is listed under the ADA. I would consult a lawyer.

i lost mine in April for basically the same reason. I know how you are feeling right now. I am getting mass health for now for insurance until i begin to work again. I filed for unemployment and won . My stress level is down 600 percent...so if your husband can help you get through this i say take the break

That's a lot of bug dietary chances all at the same time.. I think just starting with lower carb or at least cutting out sugar and heavily processed carbs could be a good start. One step at a time. I know that avoiding sugar helps me with mood issues because my blood sugar can spike and drop pretty easily, and low blood sugar makes me feel like a cranky toddler.

This has nothing to do with this topic......sorry.....

Will someone tell me what "OP" stands for....I've seen it a couple times and am just not bright enough at the moment to figure it out...

I use to mean the original poster. Basically when I'm too lazy to write out a full screen name. Bad habit I picked up somewhere in my journey through the internet.

I am so sorry this happened to you; it is terrible. I agree with your husband that you should try to take this time for yourself. Do what ever you can to help yourself feel better. There are some therapists that work on a sliding scale; could that help? I wish you the best.

I've list mine before related to missing for ip. They say I quit but I didn't.

I'm so sorry mo. I've been in that position. Do you have a clinic nearby? I signed up for obamacare and it's saved me. I can't afford meds or therapy otherwise. Worth a shot! I'm glad your husband supports you-sounds like a great guy!

Good question to ask. My city has low-cost and free programs based on income for mental health needs. Now it only covers what you need like meds, therapy and hospital. If there's some new treatment you heard abt chances are it might not be covered.

This SUCKS. I'm so sorry.

What's a girl to do when she has to go IP? It's like we are encouraged to go IP and take care of ourselves etc but then there can be such huge ramifications nothing is fair.

Your husband sounds awesome. I'm glad that it isn't the tradgedy it would be if you couldn't afford for you to not work right now.

This might sound really lame but maybe you could do some work on your own with books etc. I don't know exactly what kind of work you want to do but just an idea.

Also again I don't know what you want to do for yourself but is there some outlet creative or otherwise that would help you recover from your episode get back to "you" etc. like taking the time to paint or write or something or chop wood or something.
Thanks for this!

Sounds like your husband is awesome. Sorry about the job -- I had something similar happen recently and it absolutely SUCKED. Still trying to figure out the best way to move forward.

I was a contract worker, so basically if I broke my contract, which apparently I did somehow by being out too much, I can lose my job. It was not a permanent position. The only way to get FMLA is if you worked there a year and i only worked 9 months. I did call today and found out I'm covered by my insurance till the end of the month, so on the 1st they are going to send me COBRA papers, so I can have insurance, while I get my own personal insurance sorted out. I swear I can't believe the damn rep for Experis told me all that ********. She's like the worst rep ever. In other news, don't work for Experis or Manpower group.

((((((((((((((Moreta))))))))))))))))

I am so sorry this has happened to you Contract work is shytty for these kind of practices. I am really happy that your husband is being supportive. That is huge. Look into your options for medical care. .

As for all your dietary changes.. Cut out what you can for right now. If you try and do it all at once your going to shock your entire system.

I really hate that your having to deal with a job loss on top of an IP stay and loads of changes.
