Just realized I've been out all week, I can tell it to! I'll be sure to get some this weekend. I've stayed home from work 3 days this week, really struggling with the depression right now. This gets so old

Vitamin D 3 is what I take and I can tell the difference when I stop taking it. It's important stuff.

If it's so important, and I'm not doubting that it is, then why hasn't my psychiatrist told me to take it?

I had blood work done and it showed how low the level was, that's when she told me to take it. Some pdocs I think can be so med focused that alternatives like vitamins and other habits may not be considered. But I've noticed a difference since I've been taking it.

I sit in the sun and get mine that way.

Noticed during my great depression of 2011 that it really helped when my brother forced sunshine on me.

So now I make sure I get a regular dose myself.

My old pdoc always spoke highly of B12 injections and daily Vit D.

Over and over again I walk outside in the sunshine to the picnic bench among the dandelions and feel the April breeze rush my hair. Did I mention I'm going out for a cig.? That horrible little thing I do renders great benefits to depression.

Sun does the job best. I can't get any sun at winter so i drink a good gulp of fish oil straight out of bottle every day. Vitamin D needs some fat around to suck in properly so i'd recommend to have oil based instead of white hard pills, which i've seen around too. Works actually pretty well for depresion, in my experience. The hardest thing is just to keep having it when depression sneaks in.

Mine was 9.3(!) Since this was discovered, I've been on the prescription 50,000 once a week routine (for a month now). I think they're going to test again in another month to see what progress (then when sufficient, work it to a daily normal amount).

I think it's helping, but it's a little hard to tell exactly what's doing what because there are 3 similarly timed potential factors (the D, plus taking a B complex (per psych), and the weather's been very nice. Which can help).

Worth getting checked, folks. If you're like me, I never figured on being low on D because I eat a ton of dairy. (I do not like being in the sun. I burn very easily. Summer is a nightmare). Can't hurt anyway.

The sun. No suntan lotion. Bad cholesterol converts to D3 when the ultraviolet rays touch the skin. There's more scientific description. Google it. I'm tired.
V12 (Cyanocobalamin) is for energy. Mick Jagger gets a shot before the concerts.
Fish oil is promising, not proven. But can't hurt. Unless you buy a cheap brand.
Pinch a capsule and pour it on a saucer. If it smells like fish, it does more harm than good.
Next consultation I'll charge 184.90 per furlong.

And I thought mine was low at 28!! Between you and Tigger, I'm not so bad!
Now that I feel better and don't stay locked in my room with the drapes closed, I'm hoping to get it naturally.
