Awww, I'd go on an art walk with you!
I'm planning on going on one next weekend, and it will be solo. Same story. It'll be a fair bit of walking as it's an around neighborhoods type and not downtown, so I'm *really* counting on that little map, lol! (As it's an unfamiliar neighborhood -- but nicer than mine so I'll probably see some nice little gardens along the way too -- bonus!)

I do a LOT of things solo, and can at least recommend them on being able to go exactly where you want exactly when you want. No dragging things out and wasting time with decisions by committee!

I ended up going to music trivia. The 2 other women there did not talk to me. I felt like an outsider.Bizi's thread: Which did not help my social anxiety issues.

Over all Had a ok time, ate way too much, 2 cups of a rice dish called jamblyia(sp?) with chicken and pork, and had a huge raspberry snow cone.
For every right answer you get a free beer. Their were 2 teams so we ended up each with 3 six packs of beer.

So they were all happy about that.Bizi's thread:
They are all musicians and this was music trivia.

Jeff is out of town for a couple of days. He is Vacationing with his guy pals at Galveston Texas. They rented a house near the beach. They plan on fishing and doing guy things and will be home late tuesday.

I have talapia and veggie soup and am trying to find a dinner date.
I don't like being alone as you know....
It is after noon and I have still not gotten ready for the day.
My hair cut and color turned out nice, though my grays came out lighter than the rest of the hair so it looks like a new high light which is good.
I put on some work clothes and plan to go out to lunch at the diner and will do some yard work this afternoon.
There is so much that needs to be done, it is overwhelming.
I have a friend coming over to clean the house monday afternoon, I need to get her some cleaning supplies and make a list of things that I want done....
Some time soon, I need to take the car into the shop to have the air conditioner trouble shooted. It is unreliable on long trips. It is just fine for my daily trips. But on 3 different long distance trips last year it gave out on us. Which was terrible.
Well I have had 3 cups of coffee and had better finish getting ready for the day.

Try not to look at too much at once on the yard. Just take it a bit at a time. No need to overwhelm yourself. Takes all the fun out of it.

I have 4 barrels to fill and lots of leaves that need to be raked in the back yard. I forgot I need to do a load of laundry, my work scrubs. Have to baby sit the dryer otherwise they will wrinkle.
Lunch was good at the diner. I had 3 scrambled eggs with spinach and brocolli. Spoke with several servers there and the owner, it is nice to be a regular there.
Today starts my new diet, low carb and that doesn't include beer.
See if I can have an alcohol free day!!!!

My diet started today.
I was fairly low carb today.
Brunch was eggs and spinach and brocolli.
dinner from chipotle
onions and peppers and shredded pork and tomatoes and onions and hot sauce and cheese and sour cream.
It is hard to estimate how many carbs in this dinner.
I stayed away from the rice, beans and corn that I usually get.

I feel I got some things accomplished today:
2 loads of laundry, folded and put up.
Dishwasher loaded, ran and put away.
work supplies filled and ready for work tomorrow.
Went to the store and bought cleaning supplies.
Wrote out note with instructions for cleaning lady.
Bought a fern for the back patio.
Worked in the yard, raked up magnolia leaves into 3 barrels. Trimmed bushes and filled another barrel and created a yard waste pile. 2 hours of work and sweated some. I quit when the mosquitos started biting.
Went to chipotle for take out dinner.
Now am relaxing and getting ready to take a much needed shower.
Made it alcohol free.
So today was a great day!

The days meals:
3 cups of coffee with half andhalf and stevia
Lunch=
1 cup of Chicken salad with apples and walnuts and
1 cup of swiss chard cooked.
dinner=
2 oz of sharp cheddar cheese
1 slice of ham, deli style
2 oz of pork chop
whole avocado
1 oz of smoked almonds
and I am full.
going to the gym to walk on the tred mill for the first time in ages.

I am proud of myself. I walked 3.1 miles on the tred mill that is a 5K.
Ate well and am AF drinking a diet ginger root beer.
My carb count was low for the day.
I call this a win!

had delicious food in reasonable quantities.
Lunch=
8 oz of chicken, 1 cup of smothered cabbage, 1 cup of boiled beets., 1 cup of collard greens
Dinner=
6oz of talapia in coconut oil, 1/2 cup mixed fruit,1 tablespoon of coleslaw,
1 cup of chunky veggie soup.
Had a friend over for dinner, we were all full.

I am on day 4 of my diet/life style which also excludes alcohol.

Low carb less than 50 grams and IF intermittant fasting, eating only 2 meals a day and no snacking at night. I skip breakfast naturally so eat 2 meals a day already. so an 8 hour or less eating window. The only thing I have in the morning is half and half in my coffee which is about 4 tablespoons. I hope this doesn't break my fast. I have asked this question on another forum about low carbing and IF that I am now participating. Will be anxious to hear what they think. I would rather not give up my cream in my coffee but I will if they say so. I still use stevia toffee flavored to sweeten the coffee with out any carbs and naturally sugar free as stevia is a plant.

Just start right now! no better day to start. low carbing you can eat when you are hungry, slice of cheese handfull of almonds during the window for me.

This is a more strict way of dieting. I will try to stay under 50 carbs for the day. You could just do low carbing and eat when ever you are hungry. Let me know what you think, I will post my meals. I am going to have a squash soup today for lunch and stuffed chicken thighs with bacon. My tummy is rumbling thinking about it! I will also eat some collard greens usually about a cup at my local health food cafe sandras. All organic fruits and veggies.

Today was a fairly low carb day.
noon lunch:
chicken thigh with spinach stuffing and wrapped in bacon. yum!
a bowl of squash soup which was wonderful and I bought a quart to take home. It has fewer carbs than a butternut squash and 1 cup collard greens.
7pm dinner:
6 oz of chicken with pesto and 2/3 cup of brocolli, and half an avocado.
I will try to be fasting until 1130am tomorrow
I found out that my cream does matter so I will drink it with just stevia sweetener.
I snacked on almonds and cheese when I first got home and at 2pm when I was feeling a bit peckish.I am full and am getting ready to go to the gym.

Hubby and I are beginning to think about going to paris to see an art exhibit in late september early october. Gustov Klimt it is a video art exhibit.

Had a good lunch:
1115am rotisserie chicken thigh and leg (ate the skin),
swiss chard
bowl of creamy tomato veggie soup.
afternoon snack 1 oz of almonds
dinner:
5pm 3oz Tuna, salad with onions, celery and 1 cup of tomatoes,

2 tablespoons of mayo

2/3 cup of squash soup
1/2 cup of blueberries
I am feeling a bit peckish, so am chewing on some more sugar free gum.
I already drank 24 oz of diet root beer and la croix.
So this is more a mental thing.
Although I went to the gym and walked 3.2 miles at 5% incline for 66 minutes and supposedly burned 474 calories. So I have a reason to be hungry. But I will try to stick it out and make it until 1130am for an 18 hour fast. Going to weigh myself tomorrow.
Started a yeast/fungal detox today and also started taking a supplement for hot flashes called fermented maca. I ordered something recommended by a forum poster for memory. Can't recall off hand what it is called. But my memory is so poor I will take any thing to improve my recall.
I already take turmuric, and fish oils.

I know this is a lot to start taking at one time. If I have side effects how will I know which one caused what?....maybe I should only start one thing at a time. Think I will wait for the detox....and just start with maca for my hot flashes since that is the most bothersome symptom right now, and wait on the detox and memory until I fully get the maca in my system.

I had less hot flashes last night, maybe a coincidence.
better sleep woke up at 8 well rested. so that is good. I really like not having an 8;30 appointment. So I can get up naturally, with out the alarm.
I took my first day of maca for hot flashes and it did seem to help last night.
Take them with meals so it will be twice a day.
Getting on the scale today:

176.2
lost one pound in 4 days. ( one pound is 4 sticks of butter!)
I will take it

About 7years ago I was down to 122, I am 5'7". I kept looking at the scale and thought like you did maybe I could get to 120. I was sick/manic exercising and dieting. It took me falling and breaking my collar bone to finally wake out of it and started eating freely again.

So last november I was my highest in years. 186, that is a 64 pound weight difference. I gain 50 pounds in the past 2 years.
so I will take 176 and start feeling more in control again.
My eating is under control, as is my drinking being alcohol free.
now if I could just a get more moderation on the computer, that would be great.
my right nipple hurts on the flat smooth part, can't remember what that is called.

about my breast. It is a surface pain almost like there is a splinter that gets triggered when brushed across if that makes any sense.
I will just take the maca for a while to see if I have any side effects from that so far none but it has only been a few days.
I think my hot flashes have diminished, not as intense. It maybe coincidence.
But I will continue taking it. IT IS VERY expensive so I have to decide if a little difference is worth the extra money.
$40 for 24 days worth.
any way we are off to go have gumbo and I see 2 clients out of town today. An hour away is this town called Iota. Their daughter guilted me into going, but the money is good and it is only once every 2 months. I go on a saturday as a 4 hour block of time is not feasible during the week.
