I am sorry you are being paranoid about this. She would have brought it up if she had them don't you think?
If listening to worship music makes you feel better then oh well, what ever works!

I can get the paranoia, I get that it feels really real to you but... why would she have cameras? What could it mean? Why would she be watching you? Its a lot of effort to just spy on someone- why would she go through all that effort just to spy on the dog sitter? She probably has better things to do than that.

Thinking like that- breakig it down- helps ME when I start thinking thoughts that start shooting up ‘maybe’ red flags.

But I know how hard it is when something FEELS real and you sort of know it but sort of dont that it probaby ISNT. Its hard, and its scary, and its frustrating, and you just feel so alone.

Its going to be ok though. It really is. Just, when you start to feel stuff like this... try to just... just- challenge it the best you can- dont be too hard on yourself... but just... just- try to- take some deep breaths. Try to sit back and just- take it easy.

You are going to be fine, but if you can find some way to calm down, to get in your own space- AWAY from all just for a bit- reorient yoursel- and then maybe itll be easier to face all these scary maybes- when you can have your own place inside you that is just- free from fear and just- safe

Not to encourage anything, but plenty of people have cameras in their houses to make sure that babysitters, etc. don't steal things or hurt their child/pet. The cameras is a valid concern, especially when you see the babysitted person/pet in the news getting hurt on camera. That's why people have the cameras.

That said, the cameras wouldn't be used to spy on anyone IMO. It's just a personal safety thing, not a spying thing. Or if they do "spy," it's not to plan an attack; it's just to monitor things to make sure things are ok. Lots of cameras are connected to the internet via WiFi or ethernet for real-time surveillance.

It sucks that people can't trust others, but some people are just not trustworthy, so the owner of the house has no choice but to install cameras.

I would assume Halliebeth is a trustworthy person in the eyes of the owner because she cares a lot about what she's doing and wouldn't steal, but IDK how the person she's babysitting for actually feels about her since I'm not that person.

Of course, and i was going to add that to the end of my post but forgot- id you ARE concerned about the possibility of cameras, you can always just ask.

Then its just open and shut. If she says no, then you can relax about it a bit

If she asks about the cameras, the owner might get concerned that she wants to do something immoral. That's kinda like walking into a store and asking, "Do you have any security cameras"?

No matter what Halliebeth says, the owner won't reveal if there are any cameras. Divulging that information would be silly.

The best thing to do, IMO, is to assume there are cameras, but know that the owners are just trying to protect themselves, and they'll probably delete the footage anyway because it'd be pretty boring to rewatch someone take care of a pet for X many hours. They'd probably rather be watching a real movie or catch up on their favorite TV series. As long as she doesn't do anything immoral she has nothing to worry about

What if the cameras are in the mirrors?
I don't do anything wrong but I'm scared I'm being watched.

If you don't do anything wrong, then you're ok.

Technically, the cameras could be anywhere, if there are any cameras at all, but I've never heard of a camera being in a mirror. Though I guess you could technically make anything into a camera these days. No idea. But if avoiding mirrors make you feel slightly calmer, then continue to avoid them. No sense in subjecting yourself to torture.

Try to take deep breaths. I can't tell you if you're being watched on camera or not, but if you are, remember that you know and trust these people. They won't hurt you; they never have and they never will. You are safe in their house, as you have been each time you've dog sitted.

I would still ask ask tbh. Just be direct up front and explain WHy you are asking. Say something like “I know this might be a weird question but do you have camera set up? I understand why you might have them, for safety, but I have some anxiety about it and would appreciate knowing because it would make me feel a lot more comfortable in this position’ Maybe its an odd suggestion but Ive just found that asking- its just saved me a lot of stress. Communication solves so much and people are just... so afraid of doing it/of seeming ‘weird’ that they cause themselves so much mlre problems then there might have been otherwise. What is 10 seconds of discomfort and awkwardness compared to hours and days of being so scared of the possibility that you cant even function? People are better about answering stuff like this than youd expect- most people are likely to be pretty straightforwards when just faced with a blunt question- either yes, they are there- a shocked and obvious no, or a really defensive no. The first two would just help settle whatever suspicions you migbt have- so you would just NO- and the other one, any sort of weird reaction- well... then you are back at squee one with no harm done really.

Asking wont make anything worse really, and people are more helpful than you would think. They CAN HELP you get a little more piece of mind. Just say you are uncomfortable and you would appreciate them just being up front with you- be very open and honest and maybe then well- a dialogue is always helpful

When I need something to occupy me cause I am paranoid or freaked out I watch documentaries or funny YouTube videos to distract me. Worth a shot.

Yeah you sound like you really really should be trying to take things easy until you can see ypur doctor and talk about how you are doing, it sounds like it would be best to try to keep things as low stress as possible. I know with me, I try to make my enviornment as low stimuli as possible. Just. Make things calm. Make things not comfusing or scary.

Just- take it easy. Try to. I think thats the best idea right now
