Lol! I laughed when I read your "murderous rampage" post!

I yelled at my husband when I talked to him this morning. He said the intern that did the data was a 15 yr old kid. He could put me on speaker phone so I could yell at him if I wanted. The kid has to learn about the angry accountants at work at some point in time. Tbh though the amount of data I've had to take hours to reformat is stupid. At least this was only 2 fields - city, county. And people wonder why I don't work anymore haha.

corr...I loose track of posts.

So they are requiring you sleep over in a facility if you want a sleep study? They are having the wife do a sleep study - apparently, she will be wearing a monitor and sleeping at home.

Maybe there are certain readings they are wanting to see that can only be done in the lab, then?

I'd be just the opposite - unless I knew I war havin' to go under the knife at 5am in the morning - in which case I'd be staring, unblinking at the minute hand of the clock on the night-stand till an hour before they came for me. Waiting for the ominous shadows of the vital-signs techs to appear under the door from the lighted hallway, wishing I'd a smoke - even if I quit, I'd sure want one now. Be a crackin time to start back, wouldn't it?

Eyes dart back to the clock, then back to the crack under the door, wondering how far the nearest all-night store was and if I could sneak out undetected. That'd be a sight - geezer wandering down the road in a surgical gown, which probably looks more like a straight-jacket, asking directions to the nearest smoke-shop, lol.

Otherwise, no worries. Sleep like a baby

Lol!

I am not sure if we will be doing a home study or a study at the sleep lab.
All talk of a sleep study has stopped and the study held up. I have to be sleeping first. Then we can do a sleep study.

Hi WC,
I had a sleep study done at home. It was somewhat uncomfortable to sleep with all the gizmos on so I only got about 6 hours of sleep but it was enough for the test. Fortunately I don't need cpap now. I don't think I could sleep with it any way. Is that the kind of sleep study you have in mind or is it a different one?

I honestly don't have any type of a study in mind, my doctors do.
I have told them I am not interested in a sleep study. I already know I have sleep apnea; I don't want a cpap machine. I also have something more than sleep apnea; I cannot fall asleep or stay asleep.

For now, we are all in agreement that there has to be a significant improvement in sleep before any study can occur and will be worthwhile.

That said, someone had mentioned that my insurer requires home sleep studies first, maybe followed by a lab study, if indicated. I will look into it when I start sleeping; until then, it's a moot point.

Hey WC,

Sometimes it might be a situation that can be helped by just adding 02 through the nostrils at night so oxygen doesn't stay too low for too long. This would be especially true if a person also developed a lung disorder like COPD.

I'll get an oxygen monitor one day. i think you can get the kind that can download to a phone or a laptop so you can do the whole measurement overnight. It's not a complete test but it is also easy.

Do you notice any synchronization between good sleep/poor sleep periods and the seasons. Up here we have a very large change in daylight hours over the course of the year. The last few days my sleep has been better, so I haven't had to up my Lyrica. It turns out the kefir I drink does have the two strains that have some evidence of benefit for bipolar mania. I'm back to drinking this once a day with a bit of chocolate protein powder to get it down. i read that older people need more protein to maintain muscle. not sure if it is true though.

I used to be able to rely on myself to power through any physically or mentally stressful situation. It seems like an irony now.

I am very "mixed" today. Agitation. Lots of family stress going on. Keeping a low profile. Spent most of the day in my room in order to decrease stimuli.

Love to All!

It's a little easier for some reason, now that it's night time. Tomorrow is almost here! Gotta cut some toxic ties tomorrow. Ready for it! Someone triggers me a lot and admits she does it on purpose. It's been going on for years now. Time for it to stop! I have never encountered anyone as consistently extremely rude. Ever. It's abusive and very toxic.

Thanks again!

That person who triggers you need psychological help. It's not normal to get a kick out of triggering other people. I'm not a dr, but that behavior is consistent with people on the antisocial spectrum. Unless they're a bully and want to "empower" themselves to cover up a flaw, but that still suggests something is going on in their life where they feel insecure and need help with being more confident.

I'm not saying their issue is an excuse, but it makes me wonder

I hope you feel better, WC, when your task is over with. Nobody needs toxic people in their life. Take care!

I agree this person needs help. However, this person refuses help and believes everything in her life is just fine. I have continued very patient and very compassionate for years. This person continues going down this road, without apology. She appears to feel entitled. You are right on with your insights! Until she gets help, I need her to leave me alone.

Thanks, Blue!

Thanks, tecomsin! Your support means a lot.
I usually give too much leeway. Giving anymore would be "enabling," to say the least. This person states she means to do damage... and she gives it her best shot, causing ongoing turmoil for many. I can't agree to it. I cannot imagine ever understanding this. It's hateful. Sadly, this is a family member.

I am adjusting to the gabapentin. Just started Lamotrigine; had a rash last time (not a SJS rash), so am a little nervous. We are titrating upward very slowly.

I am still "mixed."

Still having trouble sleeping!
MMJ helps me the most, re: sleeping. I'd prefer to do without it though. I hope to find a viable alternative.

I have been referred for a consult with a sleep specialist.

Had an okay weekend. Toured one niece's classroom; this is her first year as a teacher. Another niece came for breakfast and a visit on Saturday morning. Yet another niece had a birthday party on Sat PM, which I had attended. I saw my fave local band playing on Saturday, too.

Am very tired with adding lamotrigine to my med mix yesterday and today.

Love to All!

I am so sorry about your sleep problems. Thank God I can just take Seroquel & it knocks me out.

About how much sleep do you get most nights?

Maybe try taking lamotrigine at night.

I had the same problem with lamotrigine (tiredness, foggy mind) when I was taking it in the morning. When I switched to taking it at night, all that went away.

I cannot use Seroquel or many other med options because of my Current EKG, which show my QTc interval is already almost maxed out with current meds.

We are trying gabapentin. I am tolerating MUCH more than I have ever been able to tolerate, so something is going on. I still cannot sleep, day or night.

Today I am unable to tolerate noise. The quietest noises are WAY TOO LOUD! I have had to ask people to whisper when talking to me. It's best if I isolate because I am jumping and cringing with the slightest sound. Even my laptop keyboard noise is FAR TOO MUCH NOISE!

Does anyone else experience extreme noise sensitivity when going through a period of agitation?

Does this sound like agitation which can go along with Bipolar illness?

Thanks so much!
