cut my nails yesterday! yay! haven't done that in a loooong time. Can anyone here relate?

Also took a shower this morning after putting it off. (yeah, sorry for being so gross!) I was going to do it yesterday, but the double vision and other vision issues set in after taking my meds. That's when my balance was way off and I got dizzy.

I have to keep my fingernails short

I can't standl ong fingernails tapping the keys on my keyboard

so they need to be short

toes on the other hand... not so important

I still bite my fingernails. The toenails I clip occasionally.

Today I had a shower, brushed my teeth, and washed my face. I am usually bad about hygiene.

I wish my fingernails would grow long! The ends rip off and they don't get long at all.

Self-care: I checked my blood sugar mid-morning when I wasn't feeling good. Turned out it was too low, so I had a banana and it went back to normal I'm also trying a slow cooker recipe that's supposedly low-acid, so I hope it works out.

Tomorrow I'm seeing a dietician, so I can figure out what I can eat. The list of things I can't eat is rather long now with low-acid, diabetes-friendly, weight-losing and low cholesterol.

Yesterday I went for a long walk 'with' my dear friend Laurie (I used to live in California and met her there, but I moved to Delaware); we used phones on speaker to be together. It was wonderful to get outside -I was down all weekend because (long story) I'm going from once a week therapy to every other week- and the walk did me a lot of good: the getting outside, the walking, and being with my dear friend, who I miss so much.

Showered and washed my hair. You do not want to know when I last did this. I do not understand why I have such trouble doing these two things.

Great thread, bizi!!

I have made a commitment to myself to rid myself of toxic people. There is a friend who is always negative, and frankly, seems unappreciative of all the time and energy I spent practically being her counselor (which is unhealthy as is).

She gave me the silent treatment once in the past for a month and a half and did not even tell me what was wrong, didn't respond to my texts, just to find out she twisted something around. This person always plays victim and has problems with people. After seeing her, giving her daughter a gift, all of the sudden she has gone silent again, and I can tell it's a manipulation/control tactic. To make a long story short, I've had enough. I am not reaching out. This is unhealthy for me, I'm a loyal friend who does not deserve to be treated this way.

Therefore, my self-care project is freeing myself from toxic relationships and spending more time with people who do care, even if that means less friends for now.

I've been watching videos/reading on narcissistic abuse too. It's empowering and helps give me some insight as well as what I can do about these relationships.
Have fun at your concert!

I have been saying good-bye to toxic people, too.
This last one was very difficult, as she is a family member. However, she does A LOT of damage and manipulation and shows zero remorse... ever.

I am sorry about the letdown you have experienced; yet, I am glad you are taking care of yourself!

I spent three hours with my four year old daughter today.
-We went swimming and pretended to be dragons and tigers and turtles and a king and princess, it was awesome but exhausting.
-We had lunch and facetimed my Fiancee who is several thousand Km away right now, my girls got to talk for the first time in over a month.
-We facetimed her Nana and Papa (My parents)
I took a nap while my fiancee was at work and then spent a chunk of the evening with her.

that is all I had/have in me today, doritos for dinner and I guess I'll shower in the morning.

Gryph.

At work on break, I took a walk with my friend from work. We both needed to vent about different situations and get out of the building for a little while. It's nice to finally have someone at work to talk to. It feels a little less lonely, like we're in this together.
