Why didn't she say anything to the doctor? I'd even asked the eye doctor if she had any floaters because I got them at a very young age, 6 or 7. The optometrist is able to see the floaters, and he'd said no, not that he'd noticed.

I looked around all online, some people were thinking stuff like that was ocular migraines, but for the fact hers only happened before falling asleep. Many people on the internet did have this experience; lots of testing, nothing wrong. I probably would have gone on to insist on testing, but then, I was talking to my youngest sister who told me, oh, yeah, she sees floating flowers (mostly pink) before falling asleep most nights and has since she was a child. She has no mental health problems, no issues at all really, beyond bad PMS.

So apparently sometimes these sleep hallucinations aren't even necessarily related to mental illness. I sometimes have the auditory hallucinations before sleep, birds singing of all things.
They're called hypnogogic (falling asleep ones) and hypnopompic (waking up ones) hallucinations. They're not indicative of anything wrong and lots of people have them.

I'm stressed. I decided to try and take a college course and I regret that decision. I'm having trouble focusing and getting the work done. I have to read a 66 page chapter and complete a quiz on it due yesterday. I can't even sit down to read the first section of the chapter. Why did I decide to take a college course when I've always been incapable of doing these tasks? I did shower today though so at least I don't smell bad anymore.

I was doing okay until stress hit. Now I'm depressed again. I can't get out of bed in the mornings. Not sure what my pdoc will do since I'm already on the max dose of Latuda. I see him next week.

Yikes! 66 pages! What is it about? I'd be downing the coffee for sure on that one!

We have a busy weekend coming up, so we carved our jack-o-lantern this afternoon. My daughter drew the face; then, she wanted H to draw and carve a horse head at the top, like the horse is looking over the pumpkin. (She's really into an online horse game for girls right now.)

I got spared the guts & goopy parts since I washed, boiled, and roasted the pumpkin seeds, which turned out really good this year. Some years, I do better than others with it.

A very busy day!

Finishing up tasks in preparation for winter. It's already snowing.

The distractions helped.

Love to All!

I can't even imagine snow. We got a tad that stuck around until the sun came out last year. People were waking their kids up at 3 AM to see it, it's such an event here, though I think I waited until 5 or 6 AM for my daughter. It's rare here. And if there is ice, Houston and all the suburbs (quite a large area) is just completely shut down until the ice melts.

The last time we had flurries, I was lying in bed nursing my daughter at night. She was probably around 1 yr. old, and now she's almost 11. I think the only decent snow she saw was snow on our way home on I-10 one year, driving back from LA to Houston. A snowstorm struck from Las Cruces, NM through most of western TX (that area of TX does see snowfall more than here). We were snowed in for 2 or 3 days before the roads were safe again. My daughter remembers it but only vaguely; she'd probably just turned 4.

I will take the cooler weather though. Fall tends to be nice here except for outdoor allergens. It's pecan season; our tree is dropping them all now. Didn't get as many this year, but last year we had none due to Harvey; some Octobers, it practically rains pecans. Then you get the Christmas present of raking all the pecan leaves that fall right around Christmas

Im homefrom choir. Having a worse than usual asthma attack - throat tight so i took benedryl. Had a long nap. Got really tired earlier. I should feel relieved that most of my stuff to do is done. Feeling guilty for missing choir. I did email the director.

Do you have inhalers to use for your asthma?
I cannot get by without mine if my asthma acts up.
Be careful!

Feel better!

I'm frustrated today. Last spring I saw a new dentist because mine retired. It was a mess throughout with a need to remind the dentist twice to wear gloves before sticking his hand in my mouth and a crown that wasn't made right and a very painful experience with the temporary being put in by someone who'd never done it before.

Today I saw a new dentist and I need a bunch of things done. I wouldn't care about any of them except that I have to have that crown and the filling no-gloves dentist put in re-done because they weren't done correctly and as they are I'm at risk for infection and a root canal. I've had some discomfort in there off and on but I thought it was just my tooth-grinding.

I want to fight the dentist who screwed up for my money back since I have to pay the full price for the one I'm getting in 2 weeks as my insurance only re-does crowns every 5 years, not every 6 months, but am not sure who to complain to. Hopefully I can figure it out and win.

At least I like the new dentist and the office. I just wish I wasn't going to be paying so much quite so soon.

Oh well.

Oh no! I've had a lot of dental work done this year and would be very upset if I were in your shoes!

You can complain to the licensing board, but that won't get your money back (I don't think so anyway).

Depending upon how much you'd like for a refund, you could take him to small claims court. Chances are good he will pay up when he sees he is going to go before a small claims judge.

If he is a member of the Better Business Bureau, you can complain to them and they will try to negotiate a remedy acceptable to you.

I hope it's not too frustrating to get your money refunded.
There may be other avenues for you to pursue in order to pursue a refund.
Best wishes with this!

Went on second interview today. Got my diagnosis notes from my new therapist, he has now added a few more diagnoses to my list. Apparently my old workplace caused to me to have symptoms of PTSD on top of severe anxiety. On top of all this I got a letter from my Cardiologist who wants me to have a Echo done before I see him. I thought I was doing better but apparently the only thing better is my depression. I also have massive trust issues, who knew.

In other better news I got my midterm grades back and I passed them all. One step closer to that degree.

Hugs to everyone.

So our celing got flooded. It ruined our living room set. The computers were wet. It looks bad but all we had were little lights as they cut our power. We'll see Saturday.

I have a friend who was a private practice therapist and so he knows about navigating insurance. He told me to complain to the company, then the insurance, then the dental board. I will do it but writing the letter to the company is stressful.

Their webpage is very confusing as you can't find information about anyone to contact about anything. Mostly it is just a whole lot of positive reviews. They even have the dentist where I used to go listed with a different phone number and it doesn't make sense as they are in different towns and the phone they give is for the town I lived in, not the one the dentist was in. Further I've called and been called by the old phone number several times. It's just weird. They don't even tell you the name of the dentist at their locations or where their locations are although I know it is a chain.

It makes me so sad because the retired dentist promised he had spent a couple of years vetting replacements and felt this was the perfect solution. And he would be horrified that this happened.

I miss my old dentist although this new place is all state of the art fancy stuff my dentist didn't always have. And you get a chocolate chip cookie when you leave .

Yes, it can be so stressful to be in your position, having to write a letter.
If you decide to pursue this, I hope it goes smoothly!

So, one of the sellers on eBay who sold me a set of 5 items is a total asshole. The set of items was SUPPOSED to have 5 DIFFERENT items for replacing pieces of broken electronics I bought (because I want to fix those electronics; that's the point of buying these parts). Well, I got two duplicate parts, so now I can't fix what I want to fix.

He was all like, "sorry, but we ran out of these sets of items. They're out of stock. I asked our supplier and they said there is nothing they can do." Then I went back to the eBay page where he was selling that set of items and of course, it showed "more than 10 available." I even added those items to my cart to see what would happen. Sure enough, it gave me the option to buy them again. (I didn't buy them, though. I'm not doing it from this douche.)

Either he didn't update his eBay page with how many items he has left in stock, or he's lying. He didn't even offer me a partial refund for the missing items. So I think he's lying. He probably thinks I'm a liar, too. But why would I lie over a set of $10 items? All I wanted was the pieces that were missing. Pisses me off.

I'm also pissed that some guy at work lied to his boss and my boss. He was all like, "SHE didn't finish HER work. I need HER work to get MY work done. So now I'M stuck. Her work isn't even right." I told him repeatedly over the past month that I don't have time to help him right now. I told him that at least 3-4 times via email. Plus, he has other work to do, so why isn't he doing that instead? Stop waiting on me when I say 3-4 times that I can't help you. Also, of course my work doesn't work properly. I'm not finished with it yet!! My boss thinks this guy is an asshole, fortunately. So he understands that this guy is a liar.

I’m sorry this happened to you. I went to a new dentist yesterday who I was really pleased with. I found out similar things to you: my previous dentist had done a crown wrong and there is a gap above and a root canal he performed has a perforation. They referred me to an endodontist to see what the next steps are.

It’s good to know about writing a letter to the insurance company and the company itself. I hope you don’t find writing the letter too stressful and that you are victorious in getting your money back. I’m cheering you on!

I had a good time at the symphony last night: Brahms and Beethoven.

Yesterday was the end of a busy, busy week for me. It’s chilly and rainy here so I’m snuggled up on the couch with my pets and going to relax today watching movies with my sunlamp on. Comfy clothes, good night sleep, hot cider...I’m feeling hopeful.

Best wishes to all.
