Oh cherry !! That has to be better , even with a straw that lemon is horrific. I’m going to find a bottle to have on hand. Thanks so much

After my blockage I keep very close tabs on my bathroom habit’s. What I went through truly was worse than labor.

many do well to simply take the mineral magnesium. it comes in various forms: citrate, gluconate, glycinate, oxide. All are simply tabs/cap of this mineral only.

Many take this daily in order to meet daily requirements and, as a side-effect, it helps regularity.

We also need magnesium for heart function and more.
Magnesium can be very calming on the nrevous system. some people take it at night for this reason. it has been known to calm "restless legs" and muscle spasms, etc.

Some find it very helpful for calming neuropathies. -- both by mouth and the topical formulations.

it comes in topical forms and is an incredibly useful formulation for peripheral neuropathy, etc.

i do recall the liquid you are both referring to!

I use to take magnesium and many more supplements on a regular basis but I remembering one day choking on a couple of the bigger ones, I was home alone and it really scared me. I shoved them in a dresser drawer and just forgot them.. I do take a multi vitamin and of course vitamin D as I’m always low on it.

Magnesium is also very good for Fibromyalgia.

Once my ultrasound is done I need to get back on them all, I know I’m lacking many things. Studies on Fibro patients has actually shown despite supplements we often are running low of important vitamin and minerals.

I take mag oxide pills for migraine prevention. Mag citrate was only as needed for constipation when it got beyond all other treatments. The mag oxide might have helped my constipation some but it's hard to know for sure and now that's just a moot point.

I eat lots of vegetables, salads and fiber however I can get it.. I think what actually helps me the most is I always drink more than a gallon of water a day.

Water, healthy oils, physical activity, fiber are all helpful for regularity.

There's nothing wrong with magnesium oxide if it works well for your goals/purposes for using it. It is less bioavailable however.

BeyondTheRainbow, you make a good point, some people cannot tolerate the citrate form without loose stools. Others need the citrate form. it's great the oxide formula helps your migraines.

Formulations, other than oxide, are generally considered more therpeutic.
Various formulations tend to target various conditions.

There are several formulations, each of which seem to best target specific purposes. This can be confusing. I solve this by using a formulation which has more than one type of magnesium in it.

There are formulations which have appox. 5 formulations of calcium and 5 formulations of magnesium. Example: Country Life's Target-Mins Calcium Magnesium Complex. I often use this formulation.

Country life also offers a magnesium supplement with multiple forms of magnesium, also referred toas "Target-Mins."

Just an FYI: ducosate sodium is a stool softener which increases the amount of water absorbed by the stool

Many meds cause constipation. Personally, I prefer to address this via using the more natural approaches mentioned above. Should those approaches fail, I sometimes resort to ducosate sodium, which comes as a small capsule. Ducosate sodium is often used in hospital settings.

Since I have been AF my internet usage has gone up. I am constantly late for things in the morning.
Have been skipping self care tasks at night as well. like not brushing my teeth or washing my face. Last night I did not put on any of my night time facial products.
acne med, eye cream, hydrating mist, cereve mosturiser on my neck regenerist moisturiser on my dry outer edges of my face. It was after midnight already.
I have been cutting back on taking my supplements because it takes time setting them up.
sigh
My picking has increased. Last night I just ripped off a piece of dry skin. and of course bled. I put a band aide on it. It is very painful this morning.
I went into a chat room last night and the moderator...no one else was in there, pointed me to an article about skin picking and that led me to excoriation disorder.
I believe I have this to a lesser extent.
I wonder what the treatment for it is?

Hi Bizi!

I want to apologize for having gotten way OT re: magnesium. I can go a little OT with that type of a topic. I had spent my first 15 years of illness studying many "natural approaches" to just about everything> I have now forgotten some info.

As you continue AF, I think you will find some other concerns surfacing. Alcohol tends to "numb" feelings. when we are AF and not substituting with another "numbing agent," we will start to notice more about our feeiings, stress and how we cope or tend not to cope.
I have had many friends get sober, or go AF, and they had very similar experiences as you are having.

I hope you have a FUN day!

N-ACETYL CYSTEINE, an Amino acid supplement. My doctor ordered me this 600mg twice a day for the compulsive picking. Very happy to try this. I just ordered it from Amazon so it should be here in a few days. Maybe it will help with my other compulsions?????

Entertained a couple of guest artists and his fiance Julie. the mens names I can't think of they are Indian...and I am not good with names. Two are vegetarians.

We went out to dinner twice. The 5 of us ate at a Thia place called bang koc thia. I had a shrimp(that was over cooked) coconut soup that ended up being too spicy and I choked because of it. It was very good otherwise and I had a quart left over...had ordered a potsize. We shared an order of coconut ice cream...I ate more than I should have. I was delicious!!!!!!!

The concert was great.Bizi's new 2019 thread
The men played together, one played a sitar and the other a type of drum. They were very good. The small audience clapped loudly so they felt good about it.

Tonight We ate a this place called chopsticks and it was very good. I had hot and sour soup which was good. then Jeff and I split a pot of mixed meats and veggies it was not too spicy.

I did have one medium size egg roll.
They gave us their left overs which was so nice of them.

Every one drank alcohol but me. I did not miss it all!

I really did not think of it at all which is great!

I may need to take one of them to the airport tomorrow will see.

Jeff is picking up 2 of them tomorrow morning at 10 but he has a rehearsal after lunch and the concert is at 3pm, a veterans day concert.

I have much paperwork to do and 2 loads of laundry.
I would like to go to the concert....
but I really need to be disciplined!

It is cold for us....40's
Hugs to those who need them.Bizi's new 2019 thread

Hey friends!

26 days AF, 8 pounds down, picking much much better, computer too much!
I have all of my favorite d book marks/web sites listed in a column on the left side of my page. I post on many different sites:2 different bipolar sites, nutrition and cutting down drinking to lose weight, HAMS harm reduction in cutting down drinking. face book, email weather channel, blogs etc.
Since I post on these I regularly check to see if anyone has responded. I have certain people that I follow and read to see if they have posted. We I keep going over and over to these sites it takes a long time to read up on these posts the psych central forum is very involved, very busy and hard to keep up.

I call it mental masturbation. The attention to posts that I get is rewarding..
I saw 2 clients today. one was in bed and did not need it done. So I will do her in 2 months when I come back for her hubby. sweet sweet man!
they live out of town about an hour. I see them every 2 months.

I have worn long underwear all week.
40's in the mornings then warms up to 60 today.

We have a coupon for buy one entree get one free for bonefish grill....think we will go there after jeff gets home from the student music society fraternity that jeff is the faculty adviser. They have some sort of ceremony today.
I know what I am going to get at bonefish: Lillys chicken it has spinach and basil and artichoke hearts and goat cheese and lemon butter....yummy!
I always get it.

I am still seeing a chiropractor for my neck(chronic neck pains issues) and back (I had hurt my back in August at the beach getting out of the tub)and ankle (I sprained my ankle 9-11-19).
I have been seeing him weekly going on 3 months.
Think he is helping.
Jeff just got home so will sign off.
