Carol my AA sponsor discharged me today because I was not "doing AA".
I understand....I will miss her. I have been seeing her weekly for several months. She said I have many issues and she can't be my therapist.
She wrote me a lovely card......hugged good bye.
I suppose if I ever go to AA she can be my sponsor again.

Thank you fern,

I skipped a halloween party tonight because I am so heavy and dieting and not drinking and the temptation would be too great. I usually drink to deal with anxiety in social situations. Hubby understood.

Maybe next year.....

Both my thumbs have been chewed on. I hate this nasty habit.

Well I made it one week alcohol free!
down 4.5 pounds. yay!
I know this is water weight but still fun to see the numbers go down!

Can't remember if I shared that I have a new great niece.
She is adorable.
Her name is Emerson Lou.
She is one week old.
My twin sister is there visiting....she is in heaven....she has wanted to be a grandma for a long time.

My business is slow overall for the year....not good.

Hubby decorated the yard with 25 tombstones for halloween.
We usually have a lot of kiddos but am afraid it is going to rain this year. I have bags full of candy. The inside of our house is a mess!
The university orchestra is having a halloween concert tonight. It should be good.

I think the rains start tomorrow.

I slept great last night first time not waking up to go pee. I slept a solid 7 1/2 hours straight. I think it was because I was alcohol free.

hugs to those who need them

HI Sunshine!

Congrats on your progress with your goals!

I know Halloween is a HUGE, FUN holiday at your house!

Congrats, too, on your new Great Niece! Your entire family must be incredibly happy!
How is your mom? I have not been in touch with her for a long time now. I miss her. I should check in with her soon.

You and I have been dealing with the weight challenge for at least several years now. (We had started on the other site.)

I have to tell you, for me, some meds cause definite extreme hunger and some "bloating" types of reactions, even wieght gain. I had always been very slim prior to psych meds. I do think there are other factors for me, in addition to the meds. I have been on low-dose Seroquel, which is one of the worst weight-gainers, at least for me.

Most people know I have had a lot of stress this year. I have found, at least more recently, that I am "stress eating!"
Am I stuffing my feelings? It looks like maybe I am! I need to give this some serious consideration! Maybe I need a new/different outlet for my feelings?

I read your stuff! I don't always comment. I have had less time and less energy this year. I intend to have more of both soon.
I wanted to take some time to write to you today!

Thanks so much for sharing!

Much, Much Love to You, to Hubby and to Your Family!

Halloween went well, almost ran out of candy. There were a couple hundred kids. 11days Alcohol free. a solid 3 pounds down since 10-21-19 my great nieces birthday. My twin Gretchen is visiting her in new york, they spent a week with the infant and is loving every minute. This is her first grand child. The baby's name is Emerson Lou. We have not had a new baby in the family in 25 years. I think she will be spoiled. lol She has to go back to Indy tomorrow.

It is supposed to be 41 low for the night and high tomorrow is 63. with winds gust up to 20mph. so it will be in the 50's most of the afternoon and windy. It is homecoming foot ball game tomorrow and we have to go to the game. My hubby won distinguished professor and they are presenting him along with the other winners. There will be free food and drinks there.

I don't want to sabotage my diet.
I am going to wear my long underwear. and parka. If I get cold then my Raynauds flares up in my fingers and toes, they turn white and burn.
I know that some of you have had snow already, I feel for you.
Remember to set your clocks back Saturday night. Love fall back!
I am back to having a bandaid on my thumb so that is not good.
Hattie our cat who has cancer on her back continues to lose weight.
Jeff does the dressing changes every night to the wound. She doesn't seem to be in any pain that we can tell. To hold the dressing in place he uses a thunder coat like for anxiety. It wraps around her body and velcros in place. It is very effective.....even so Hattie has been able to wiggle out of it a few times......
anyway.
Carol from AA let me go.....maybe I mentioned that already?
Saw Robin my therapist. I like her and feel that she can help me.
Have been a bit anxious, antsy....
called my pdoc about starting me on a medication the combines naltrexone and welbutrin for weight loss. She said no because she felt that could trigger mania....sigh I am impatient to lose this weight.
I hope the restless legs were a one night occurrence and not something that happens all of the time. I had to take 1mg of ativan to calm myself down. I am not supposed to take benzos....oh well these will last for quite a while. When they run out I will get them on line.
I send hugs to those who need them:
(((((((HUGS)))))))

I cheated on my diet this evening at the homecoming football game.
Jeff was being presented as the distinguished professor of the year, and
We were on the 3rd floor VIP box with free food. I forgo the drinks hubby drank some gin and tonics.
And I ate: 2 red velvet cake balls, 3 spicy chicken salad pin wheels, one pork egg roll, 4oz of beef brisket and 1/2 cup of pineapple.
not too too bad.
I am not counting carbs....just watching them. I had gumbo for lunch. chicken and sausage it was good!
It was crisp out side so I wore long underwear and a turtle neck under a short sleeved shirt. warm socks. and a coat. I came with gloves but did not use them.
Jeff had on a short sleeve shirt, he thought he had a sweater in the car but did not.
We left before the final play...trying to beat traffic. Our team won for sure.
That will be the last foot ball game I attend.
I am not a fan.
I was happy to support Jeff since He did tell me that I had to go.

Hey Bizi! how are the restless legs?
If they continue, look into magnesium. Feel free to PM me.
Keep up the good work!

I just had them one night thankfully. I have had them before but that was attributed to seroquel. I take 1,000mg of mag oxide for constipation. works great mostly.

We went to a BBQ open house for dinner tonight.
All university people, very nice. I had met many of them before.
We brought chantilly cake cup cakes and another kind of cake tres lechea (3 milks) that the whole foods baker highly recommended. no one tried it.
This is what I ate: Brats with sauerkraut and spicy mustard
were very good, as was the spinach dip with tiny cucumber slices. and 2 mini carrots.
I resisted the deserts they looked delicious! and I drank hot tea.
My social anxiety wasn't too bad.

I am glad to read magnesium oxide works okay for you. It is the most difficult form to assimilate. Should you need more from magnesium, you might try magnesium citrate. The citrate formulation will very likely help more with constipation issues, by far. Love ya!!!

Thanks dear.
I did not know that about the citrate. I take 2-3 mostly 3 capsules around 1250mg of the mag oxide....I would hate to mess with my routine.
I will definitely keep this in mind though.

Ohhhhhh Citrate Mag ( shutter ) I was given 4 bottles of this, nasty lemon (gag ) flavor when I had a bowel blockage. I was lucky and didn’t need surgery, thank god but for a month I had to take 3 tablespoons a day.

I actually do keep a bottle in my fridge if things arent moving. More than 3 days with out a BM my Doctor told me drink at least half.

Lol!

Oh, that stuff! Yuck!

it's possible to simply get magnesium citrate tablets/caps.
If this form of magnesium is not available, one might try magnesium gluconate.

Bizi, Exactly! Why fix what isn't broken!!!

Cherry flavor is much, much better than lemon. Until I tried cherry I had to mix the lemon flavor with some sugar to get it down (yes, I used to have severe, chronic constipation as hard as that is to believe) but cherry I can handle fine with a straw and a very cold bottle of the stuff. There's also grape flavored but I've never tried it; it sounds bad to me.
