I woke up at 6 this morning and felt rested. So I got up and had some breakfast and tea. Then I did some yoga and strength training. And then some cleaning. I might take the dog for a nice walk later too since it’s nice out. It feels good. Hopefully I lose more weight this week!

I'm sore from the bit of physical work I did yesterday and days before. I have also been doing too much cleaning on my hands and knees without ample cushioning. Years back I injured my knees. They have not 100% recovered.

I got on the scale this morning for the first time in a while. I'm exactly the same as I was last time. At least I didn't gain.

I just finished a morning of vacuuming and mopping. I followed that up with a rigorous workout video. It has been a long time since I worked out that hard and my muscles are shaky. What a great feeling!

I had fruit for breakfast and a I'm having a salad with grilled chicken for lunch. I'm not sure yet whats for dinner, but I'm determined to keep it light and healthy so I don't waste all the good work I put in.

I'm glad to see everyone checking in again. Let's make this a healthy week together!

I stuck with my video and did it yesterday and today. I am so sore. Going down stairs is so painful now. It is a good hurt though. It shows me how out of shape I was. The video is a 30 day program. I did it once before and it got me in the best shape of my life. I hope to return to the same level as before. I liked feeling strong.

I've been eating well this week. Lots of fruits and veggies and limited sugar. I hope I can keep it up. I tried on all of my shorts last week and several pairs were uncomfortably tight. I hate I'll fitting clothes, so I need to tone up before I wear them.

Hugs and well wishes to all.

My husband and I spent at least two hours staining our deck (he's home today). I am beat and know I will suffer the consequences tomorrow. I did the most laborious part of the job. I overheat so easily. I know my medications contribute to that.

I just took a full shower, then for some unknown reason our neighbors' and our electricity went out. I can't blow dry my hair, but think it will look sufficiently dry by the time I leave for my psychiatrist appointment.

I looked in the mirror and more than any other time I felt I looked very chunky. Normally I see myself as thinner than reality. I'm not sure what happened. Maybe the labor and heat made me swell up a bit.

I've completed 5 days of my video and I plan to put in a 6th today. I woke up with a sore throat, so I hope that doesn't keep me from my workout. I haven't lost any more weight, but I can tell I'm toning up and I'm happy with that.

BirdDancer, my husband and I took on the project of staining our deck this weekend. We completed the prep and pressure washing yesterday. It was a lot of work and I'm sore. We begin staining today. I feel your pain! It will look nice when it is done though. We are expecting 95 degree weather today. That should make the job extra fun...

@fern46, I hope your deck turned out nice and the heat wasn't too intolerable. Did you end up sore or have your video workouts prepared you for the labor? It took more than two days for me to recover. Yesterday we finally enjoyed our deck, since the weather became milder. It's looking very nice, yet we still plan to add six flower boxes (begonias) to the railing. We're still waiting for a new umbrella to arrive. It's rough without one.

Hubby and I went to the swim hole yesterday. I got some sunburn. It was my fault for not putting sunscreen on. I didn't swim. I hate wearing bathing suits. I do feel a bit too chunky wearing one, yet many of the women (even younger women) were even chunkier than me. They were even wearing bikinis, while I wear a one piece with a little skirt. I think my hesitation has a bit to do with comparing myself to my old ballet/dancer self.

Hey BirdDancer, the heat was awful but the deck turned out great. We are putting the furniture, grill and flowers back today. I'm glad it is done. We had some boards replaced a while ago and had to wait for them to settle before we could stain. Everything is finally the same color now. Yay!

I was sore after staining because I was bending my back in an awkward position for a long time. I recovered the next day though, so I think my workouts helped with that. I pushed myself yesterday and did level 2 on my video. It was a serious jump in intensity, but I am glad I went ahead and went for it. I'm a bit sore today, but nothing major.

I got a bit sunburned while out swimming this weekend too. The sun was unforgiving and there were no clouds. I can understand not wanting to wear a bathing suit, but I think we just have to forget about it and try to enjoy ourselves. I have a nice figure, but I'm 38 and I am all about keeping my butt and my above the waist assets covered. I wear a skirt or shorts too! It makes it easier to be carefree when I'm playing with my kids.

Your deck sounds amazing. I am sure the umbrella will make a huge difference. We just bought a huge offset one for our patio. A neighbor cut down a tree that had been providing out yard with shade, so we needed something to provide us with cover now that it is gone. I love begonias too. They will look beautiful and tolerate the heat well. Enjoy your projects!

I'm about to do my video. I'm on day 8. My brother has been encouraging me each day. He has cancer and is in treatment and doesn't have the energy to work out. I'm physically well, so I'm taking advantage for the both of us. I feel like I have a gift he doesn't have right now and I'd be a fool to squander it.

I weighed myself at home this morning before food or coffee. I am 12 pounds less than my pdoc's and primary's scales say. Why do I suddenly gain 10 pounds there? I see pdoc Friday morning. Figure I'll still be the same as last time. I guess I need to step up my game. However, my clothes are a BIT looser. Still wish the 50 pounds in my belly area would go away faster!

That is a big difference. Does your scale have a calibration mechanism? I'd try resetting it if so. It might be time for a new scale if not.

I always go by the fit of my clothes. Muscle weighs more than fat amd my scale isn't really moving but my clothes are starting to feel better. I always keep a pair of too tight jeans around. If I can zip them up I know I'm doing great.

The jeans I have on today have a huge hole in the left knee but I wear them because they are comfortable. Definitely used to be tighter before. All my jeans and shorts in fact are not as tight as they were- I need a belt with some of them. I found a sports bra in my underwear drawer the other day and it wouldn't even sort of match up to do up the clasp before and now it does. So SOMEthing is happening, but not fast enough for my taste. I had Olga's for lunch today with my youngest and it ended up tasting greasy and VERY salty. I guess my taste buds are changing their minds, too? I feel guilty for eating that, but I'm going to walk with my friend later so that should make me feel better- exercise always does.

I’m not doing well. I haven’t been exercising and my eating hasn’t been great. I’ve only lost 2 pounds in a few weeks. Not what I was hoping for.

Had the chance to weigh myself at tha pdoc's today. The scale said 6 lbs less than the last time I got weighed at the doctor's. Not sure if that's accurate, lol, but I'll take it. I'm typically pretty active and the only thing I really changed was not snacking or stuffing my face at night. I don't want to lose much, but a little is nice.

I've been working out every day for the past two weeks. I'm getting stronger and toning up. The scale hasn't budged, but I've also been eating more. I hope to keep this up for at least a few more weeks and then maybe shift to every other day for maintenance.

Hugs to all in the battle to stay physically healthy.

fern46 (and everyone), how are you doing physically today? I thought I'd bump this thread up because I agree that it's good to check in from time to time.

I've been doing quite well since I started my eating plan (aka diet). I'll admit that I had a few nights when I over ate pretzels and Stacy's pita chips. One night I also made what was called "Skinny" peanut butter energy balls, made with powdered pb2 peanut butter. I only realized after eating way too many that the recipe author miscalculated the nutrition info for them. They weren't so "skinny" after all. I won't be making them again, and did not replenish our supply of pretzels and pita chips. I've realized that they are just too triggering for little binge sessions. Other things satisfy me without triggering me to eat too much. During our Father's day picnic on Saturday, I did eat beyond what I expected. I had asked my brother to buy a watermelon for dessert, and instead he bought apple pie and cream cheese icing covered cinnamon buns. Of course I "didn't want to not eat what he bought", though at least I only ate small portions and did not take any of that stuff home with me. My hubby didn't eat any of the dessert. I put him on a diet, too. He wants to lose 45 lbs. I want to lose at least 25 lbs.

Other than the above, I have been right on my plan, most days eating 1,200 calories or below, and trying to keep total fats and saturated fats low to combat my high cholesterol. I'm also eating lower carb than when I'm not dieting, but I'm not a fan of low carb diets, so I don't go very low carb. Last week I lost 3.4 lbs. This week I hope I lose at least a couple. My next weigh-in is this Friday. It would be great to be able to tell my psychiatrist that I've lost 5+ pounds since seeing him last. He'll then go away for 6 weeks for vacation. I truly intend to keep this diet up. Assuming I can lose an average of one pound per week, during that period, I could potentially be a total of 10 or more pounds lighter after his vacation.

500 mg of Seroquel XR is almost weight neutral for me. I want to keep at this dose or even go lower, if possible. All of my other medications are weight neutral. I guess Latuda is. I'm still only on a small dose of that, so it's too soon to judge. My moods have been right where they should be. I highly doubt that my psychiatrist will make any medication changes right before his vacation.

I've been much more active, physically, these past couple of months than before. That has been great. I spend significantly less time lounging.

I would just like to say I hate having to take Fosamax weekly ! It just feels like I swallowed a box of alka seltzer and soda for 6-8 hours.

Hooray for having weak bones

I hate going to out to eat on holidays because they always go to all you can eat buffets. It's too much temptation and everyone always stuffs themselves.... Then later on you always hate yourself for overeating.

Hey BirdDancer. I'm doing fairly well. Thanks for checking in. I'm so happy to hear your new eating plan is working out for you. It is also so great of you to also handle all the meals for your husband. Diets are much easier when you have someone following along with you. Way to go! I'm hopeful you will meet your goals by the time your doc returns.

I have stuck with my exercise routine and have followed it for a month now. I haven't lost any more weight, but I have replaced fat with muscle and my clothes feel great. I could do better in the eating department though. I haven't been watching what I have been eating and I can tell a difference. I've been especially lax about watching my sugar intake. I started tracking it again this week and it is going well so far. I've noticed I go off the rails with changes in my cycle, so I plan to make a more conscious effort to limit sweets this month.

I hope everyone is feeling well. It is easy to do at least one healthy thing for yourself each day even if it is small. Blessings to all.
